hey...state lost to hawaii last year. We are happy just to beat ANYONE!!
-
Kind of getting off the hook this year w/o OSU or UM on the schedule... The big ten needs to add a team and make it a north/south with a championship like most other conferences.. Kind of bummed myself about 3 big ten teams losing - all ranked high - not good for the conference. But hey if your Boilermakers have a chance to go unscathed, I'll root for them.... dont forget the undefeated spartans. gotta get it in now..might not be able to say that anymore after saturday.

WOW!! What a great way for the Lions season to begin. Defense was solid holding the Packers to just 3 points. Green Bay helped the lions with tons of penalties and turnovers. Kinda scary with Jason Hanson getting hurt. Hope he is ok. Bears lost, Vikings lost, Packers lost....so the Lions ARE IN FIRST PLACE!!! Not sure how long they can keep saying that, but it is nice to say that for a change.

hard to believe that oklahoma could have a down year. They have the best running back in the country too.
-
Texas is at least in the driver's seat for #2

GO GREEN!

all i said was michigan is overrated. I also thought ohio state was overrated too. The defensive play by texas last night makes them worthy of the #2 ranking behind USC, which is clearly #1

http://www.sportingnews.com/features/bests...5/criteria.html Ann Arbor doesn't meet the city criteria.

No, Matt stated that Henne was going to be a Heisman candidate. You may have agreed with him, I'm not sure. You are making no sense here: You say that Michigan doesn't have a running back and then you say they need Hart. I'm confused, are you saying that Hart is a good running back or are you saying Michigan doesn't have a running back? Maybe you think hart will be out which mean they don't have a running back, I dunno. You have to be more clear but I highly doubt Hart will be out any longer, he was able to walk off the field, it's most likely a bruise. Michigan may need Hart NOW, but as Matt stated Grady is going to possibly be even better. If grady was as good or better than hart, then why didn't he do much after hart got injuried. Talk was in these posts was that hart, grady, martin were as good of a running back core as their ever was at michigan. This game showed me how valuable hart is to the wolverines.

ok maybe inexperience quarterback is a bad choice of words. I posted before that I don't think a freshman or sophmore should be starting quarterback. The QB position is too important in NCAA football. In no way, did i knock Henne's talent. I even posted that he will be a heisman candidate next year and the year after. As for running back Hart, please. Michigan needs hart. To say that you don't need hart is insane. Michigan has some receivers. What they don't have is a go-to-guy like they have had in the past. Maybe they will have that later this year, maybe they won't.

Michigan had that chance...michigan had the 2nd half opening drive chance...michigan even had a chance in the final minutes AFTER the play reviews were thru.....michigan had ever chance in the WORLD to at least tie the game. They didnt do it and to blame the refs after the game or rewind your VCR to get another look, doesnt change a thing. Michigan lost.

I like the way texas came back in the ohio state game. Texas's defense dominated that game. If texas doesnt make it to the rose bowl this year, its time to get rid of mack brown. Texas has all the pieces together to at least give USC a run for the championship.

when did i ever say that michigan didnt have a quarterback. what i said was michigan shouldnt have started henne as a freshman quarterback. I also didnt say that michigan didnt have a receiver. What i said is michigan normally has a go-to guy receiver like terrell, howard, or edwards. This year they dont have that right now. I think henne is an overrated quarterback because last year edwards was such an outstanding wide receiver. No one could match up with edwards and a lot of passes towards the end zone, you simply throw the ball up high and braylon would get it. I think Henne will struggle this year but by next year with him and breaston a year more experienced as well as their young receivering core, michigan will have a strong passing game. However, this year...might be kinda ugly. Hart did get injuried and grady did take most of the carries since the injury. Michigan needs hart badly as this game should have shown you. To say that michigan doesnt need hart is crazy. Without him, michigan will have some problems with a good defense. And lastly, I supported llyod carr. I think with him as coach, he has taken michigan to another level above the bo era. Michigan won a national championship under carr. He had to be doing something right then. Michigan is overrated this year. For a team that could very easily be 4th in the big ten, having them ranked #3 in the country is wayyyyyyyyyyy too high. I think Michigan will finish 3rd in the big ten and go to the outback bowl this year.

Nope........ Texas is going to lose to Oklahoma....like they do every year oklahoma lost to TCU and they struggled against tulsa in the beginning of that game. Oklahoma is not the same team as they were. They lost too many starters.
-
eva unit zero...redwings1914... The game was not won or lost based on that play. Michigan had more than one possesion to put the ball in the endzone. Michigan lost the game based on going 0 for 3 in the redzone.

i felt that the winner of the texas-ohio state game would challenge USC for the championship. TEXAS VS. USC in the Rose Bowl. Sounds awfully good now.

Throwing things on the field is 100 times worse than being an inconsiderate winner. If the situations were reversed and it was in South Bend, alot of UofM fans would be screaming for sanctions against ND for stuff being thrown on the field. No there's no difference. Doing both is immature and low. I disagree. I look at the pistons-pacers brawl. The fans that booed and jeered because the game got called and the pacers tried to attack the fan are not to blame. The ones that threw stuff at the players or tried to fight the pacers went overboard and they are very much deserving of being prosecuted like they currently are being. According to you, there is no difference. I think there is a huge difference.

great game. Texas sure looks like they deserve #2 ranking. Vince Young is going to be one great NFL quarterback. That guy showed me a lot tonight. What a leader. Hook'em horns!
-
Yeah I know - I was disapproving of that other guy "Desert" using stupid names to personally attack people. Criticize all you want - it's all part of good sports conversation - it was just the crude name calling I object to (not by you). i agree. Some fans went too far. You dont poke fun at the team that in a few weeks, is likely to come to east lansing and knock the crap out of us. Desert was out of line....so was blak. Take the game as what it was. Michigan is a human team after all. They make mistakes and failed to win a game that looked like it was theirs at the end. Yes they lost the national championship and the rose bowl today, but they could still win the big ten after all.

i thought michigan was going to win after they scored on the manningham touchdown. I was with my brother watching the game (brother michigan fan). After the touchdown, I was like. "i have seen this before. This is where they come back". I thought of the minnesota game 2 years ago and the state game last year. For the most part they should have. Notre Dame gave them tons of chances inside the 20 yards line. The turning point in the game was the early interception. had michigan scored on that opening drive. It would have set the tone for the 2nd half.
-
Michigan is not as good as Notre Dame You shut your mouth........ Michigan would have won that game if the damn refs didn't give them the ball when we were inside the 1........ and you guys can't say anything.......all you do is play pansies oh wow Stanton for Heisman....wow 700 yards againt KENT STATE thats a real accomplishment...... you'll see next week....ND will destroy you LOL. I wondered how long it would take for a UofM fan to start bitching about the refs. The refs didn't lose you the game today, your quarterback did. As far as "pansies" go, have you looked to see who you're playing next? Since when is Eastern Michigan University a football powerhouse? The only reason i am "bitching" about the refs is cause EVERYBODY..... the announcers, the radio guys....... said that it would be without a doubt Michigan football.......and what does that little sieve in the replay booth do......HE GIVES IT TO ND WHEN HENNE WAS DOWN....... NIU was better than both Kent State and Hawaii COMBINED........every team deserves ONE cupcake.......but no you guys have to put them all over your schedule.... Oh yeah.....i would take Henne over Stanton anyday.....Stanton has always choked under pressure.....at least Henne gave us a chance to tie..... and if henne didn't throw that INT and we still lost.. you would not be saying that henne lost the game when has stanton choked under pressure. Michigan would have, and should have lost that game last year to the spartans. State lost stanton halfway thru the game. If he was in, that would be a different story. From a spartan fan to a wolverine fan, let it go. You will probably beat us in lansing in a few weeks anyway.

Throwing things on the field is 100 times worse than being an inconsiderate winner. If the situations were reversed and it was in South Bend, alot of UofM fans would be screaming for sanctions against ND for stuff being thrown on the field. exactly! the point i was trying to make is michigan fans were classless today. And no way does that compare to me feeling happy that notre dame won today. I am sure that michigan fans would love to have ohio state lose tonight and during the season...or since this is a hockey site..to have the avs perform poorly and miss the playoffs. Deep down the wings fans would love that. And there is nothing wrong with that. THE THINGS WERE BEING THROWN BY THE STUDENT SECTION............. JUST CAUSE 10,000 FANS WERE THROWING THINGS ON THE FIELD DOESNT MEAN THAT ALL OF US FANS ARE CLASSLESS...... i personally dont care whom thru it. but it did happen from michigan fans.
-
michigan loses less frequently than michigan state. the part that i went slightly overboard was reminding posters like you that you perdicted that wolverines would walk all over the irish on the way to a perfect season and a national championship.

Freshman or Sophmores should never start as QB? Quinn has already broken a bunch of records set by Montana and Theisman by the end of his sophmore year. Kinda kills that idea, dont it. I am a traditionalist that believes that you shouldnt automatically get the starting quarterback job right when you enter school. Even my spartans started Stanton young and i disagree with that. I would much rather have a quarterback get the job his senior or junior year.
