http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content....&CID=815280 Rivals listed their preseason rankings. Here is the top 25: #1 USC #2 Georgia #3 Ohio State #4 Oklahoma #5 Missouri #6 Florida #7 Auburn #8 West Virginia #9 Clemson #10 LSU #11 Kansas #12 BYU #13 Wisconsin #14 Texas Tech #15 Texas #16 Arizona State #17 Va. Tech #18 Illinois #19 Tennessee #20 South Florida #21 Oregon #22 Penn State #23 Fresno State #24 Wake Forest #25 Pittsburgh Good list IMO. Michigan is #30 on their list and MSU is #32. I am really looking forward to Michigan State this year. They made a ton of good strides in that they made a bowl and were in every game they played last year, blowing a bunch of games they should have won. State loses Thomas, Davis, and Caulcrick but Ringer has to be one of the top running backs in the nation, not to mention the Big Ten. I actually think MSU will end up with a better record than Michigan this year and that doesnt happen often. Look out big blue. MSU is coming to Ann Arbor this year, and we are getting the W.

good insights from everyone that posted. Pretty much sum up what i was thinking on draft day. I left work and raced home to catch the draft (was glad that the wings first round was over so i could focus on the draft)...knew that Stafford was gonna be first and honestly, i hope it works out for him in detroit. I am not thrilled about it but even next year, i wouldnt be thrilled about it. the 20th and 33rd overall picks really bug me. Schwartz came on from Tennessee, which is known for building a team FROM THE INSIDE OUT, and came here stating...WE ARE GONNA BUILD A TEAM FROM THE INSIDE OUT...and what happens. A TE and a Safety. Pettigrew is very good TE but i agree with a previous poster in that it is a luxury to have a good TE, not a way to rebuild your team. Not when you have Oher on the board. You pick oher, move backus to guard and suddenly your offense line is respectable. As far as Delmas, yes he is a good safety from a small school so you have no idea what your getting. He reminds me of a Bob Sanders type player but adds one more thing to this defense that we seem to have enough already. GUYS THAT MISS TACKLES. Melauga or even Laurinitius would have been a steal at the ILB position and both would tackle well for this team. This was a great linebacker draft and to get one of these guys in the early 2nd round should be illegal. I am beginning to think that Mayhew is the puppet master behind Millen because this draft just seems like a Matt Millen run draft. I dont see where this team is gonna be anything but mediocre from here on out. That being said i will still watch and still yell at the TV screen over this team. I just wish that someday in my lifetime that this team is not the laughing stock of the NFL. I am only 30 so i believe i still have plenty of time.

2008-2009 NBA Season Thread (Pistons trade for Allen Iverson)
timothy1997 replied to timothy1997's topic in Other Sports
that happened when they traded Billups. Pistons are gonna be a bad team for a while now. Lucky if they even make the playoffs next year. Come on lottery picks. -
I am trying not to get ahead of myself, but I am liking this team. The pitching has improved big time in which we actually have starters now and as far as offense..how about santiago 2nd on the team in RBIs only behind Cabrera. I really wish we didnt trade for renetria and just gave santiago a chance last year. Would be nice to have Jurreans on this team.

RWNHQ (east) Gathering Saturday April 18
timothy1997 replied to HOCKEY MATTERS's topic in Group Events
Normally that time slot works good. Just this weekend is the weird one which has me work afternoons instead of mornings. I know the 25th is no good for me because I will be out of town but May looks promising. I am also training something to replace my old shift (getting a promotion myself soon) so hopefully that will get me more weekends off. -

I know. Indiana is gonna get players because they are Indiana. Curious to see programs like Penn State and Northwestern to see if they are a big ten force or just a fluke this year.
-
they always have that. They have it for the NHL and NBA too.
-
CABRERA WITH THE GRAND SLAM!!!! LLLLLOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGG GGGGGGOOOOOOOONNNNNNEEEEE
-
every team brings their goalie and top scorer, shootout with all the non-playoff teams. Oh and both the scorers and the goalie are blindfolded. Goalie who allows the fewest goals, gets the #1 pick.
-
what happens if a team like LA trades their draft pick to a playoff team? Do they play for another team?
-
Only weak team is Indiana...yet they were in a rebuilding mode.
-
thank you aussie for all you do. For my first year doing this, I had a blast. Good luck to you North Guy. Fun battling with you up til the end. Yes I would like my week-to-week totals. Friday: Nashville @ Minnesota Columbus @ St Louis Calgary @ Edmonton Dallas @ Anaheim Saturday: Carolina @ New Jersey Philadelphia @ NY Islanders Chicago @ Detroit Vancouver @ Colorado Boston @ Buffalo San Jose @ Los Angeles Ottawa @ Toronto Pittsburgh @ Montreal Tampa Bay @ Atlanta Washington @ Florida Minnesota @ Columbus Anaheim @ Phoenix Edmonton@ Calgary Sunday: Detroit @ Chicago St Louis @ Colorado Boston @ NY Islanders NY Rangers @ Philadelphia

Nick Adenhart killed Such a sad end to a promising talent. Unbelievable!
-
love the fact that today and tomorrow's games are afternoon games. I got both days off from work so it works perfect. Really excited to see how Porcello does today. So far the starting pitching has impressed me albeit against Toronto. Hope that keeps on going today.

Preseason top 25 MSU is #5, Michigan #18. I think Kansas, Duke, Purdue are all gonna be tough teams. Not sure what is gonna happen to UNC or UCONN.
-
Its gonna be close between Sherman and Green. Green is a nice rebounder but Sherman is more of a true center. Izzo has shown he is not afraid of starting freshman either so I am factoring in that. Nix does have a chance to be redshirted. I heard he is losing weight to get in more of a playing shape. I think Michigan will have a decent team next year. I think they can be a sweet 16 next year if they make the tournament, and get seeded right.
-
how bout that tigers bully?!?!?!? Typical Tigers game in which they took a dominate performance by Jackson and throw it right down the tube
-
MSU's starting roster for next year should be this: C Sherman F Roe F Morgan G Allen/Summers G Lucas Green, Lucious, Herzog, Dahlman, Nix should be the bench. Sherman and Nix are incoming freshman. Nix needs to lose some weight in order to be effective (6'9" 275 lbs). The more I see this kid Sherman, the more I like him as a talented center. Herzog is the only true center on this team left. Lucious should be a solid backup to Lucas Lucas and Morgan returning are key to MSU making a run at another final four or not. The program is getting players, the talent is coming. Morgan and Lucas both need at least another year before the NBA tho. How does Michigan fans feel about their team? I think you got a young nucleus of talent, led by Corperryale. How far he can lead Michigan....I guess we will find out.
-
you wonder if several years from now, people are gonna be surprised that UNC lost 4 games with this team. Hansbrough, Lawson, Ellington, Green, Thompson are all NBA bound. Thompson might be the only one to stick around for next year.
-
I would love to drop the low scores. Especially that week where I missed friday games.
-
its unfair. no college hoops team should be that good. Experience showed up big team for UNC. Hope Morgan, Lucas, Summers, and all the rest of the young players look at this and want to be Carolina next year. Walton and Suton are gone now, both have a shot at the NBA.
