no problem. Just trying to figure out how big a lead I have.

Aussie, do we know what the overall standings are so far? I am sorry but I did not see them posted yet.

I think Michigan needs to win at Wisconsin sunday to get in. Michigan hasnt had that many big wins later in the season compared to earlier. I honestly dont think its gonna happen and Michigan will be NIT bound

RWN HQ (east) Saturday 3/14/09 Wings v. Blues 2:00 pm
timothy1997 replied to HOCKEY MATTERS's topic in Group Events
yup..thats the way i am looking at it too. I am just sick of the same ol workers calling in due to laziness. I work 6 hrs today. I know that may not be much but I make the most of it. Just briefly checking the schedule in April and there isnt much that works for me. Going to the April 2nd game with my gf and most of the weekend games are matinees so i am likely to be at work when they are on. Looks like we will have to shoot for the playoffs. -

sorry that i wasnt able to make it last saturday. I fully planned on attending but had to work an initial 2 hrs due to other workers calling in sick due to the storm. By the time I got home from work it was well past 8:30pm. I normally work til 4 or 5pm so weekend games with a matinee start times are doubtful for me. also march madness tournament is going on during that weekend too. Might have to arrive extra early to make sure the wings game is on a main tv. -

i am gonna be on the day-to-day list. My mom is now home recovering from a serious staff infection. If she is ok and doesnt need me to help with medication or other basic tasks around the house, I will be there. If she needs me still there, I will be there. I will most likely bring my gf to one of these parties so count on 2 if i am there.

hey blak. How do you think this spartan team will do come tourny time? If given the right bracket, I can see them making a serious run. The final four is in Detroit this year which can make things very interesting if they make it that far.

Who I want to win it all this year?? Watch out for Dale Jr, Edwards, and Harvick. All way overdue for a championship....especially Edwards. Who will win it all this year? money is still on JJ. I am not sure how you beat JJ bc the dude just doesn't crack. It's not always pretty and he doesnt always win but slow and steady always wins these championships. I think Stewart will do ok, near the top 10 but not top 5 for the season. Oh and who I really want to see win a championship Mark Martin...even tho it probably wont happen.
-
i am worried about the bullpen again this year. I really think the Tigers missed out in a relief pitcher frenzey free agency this offseason. I dont get how one year we trade future talent for talent now...in a sign that the organization wants to win now...and then this year they are holding their money tight. This cant all be blamed on the economy can it. Also I wonder why the Tigers arent going after Manny. Put Manny in this lineup and you have probablhy the most dangerous lineup in the AL.

can't make this date. 21st is doubtful right now as well. My mom is in the hospital with a serious blood infection that we are just trying to get thru the clear before normal lifes can exsist.

I would say that the game being in Ann Arbor will tilt the scale, making it a closer game than if it was at Breslin. Not the case this year. MSU is rock solid on the road this year. I don't even think this game is that close. With or without Raymar.

just two days away from MSU-UM game at Ann Arbor. Any thoughts, comments? This thread is sorta dead this year and just trying to spark it up a bit.

don't forget that key word ALLEGEDLY. I don't think anyone will flat out admit it, even tho we have a good idea what happened. Oh and don't forget that roids weren't illegal in 2003, it wasn't a banned substance until 2004.

the players are bad. Aside from Calvin, Sims, kevin smith, avril, hanson and harris...this team has nothing. Ownership is the one constant but rest asured that Ford will never sell the team.

Surprised no one has mentioned this despite having a 7-9 record last year, which was miles above what the Lions were previous doing. I'll admit the whole "do you believe in now?" slogan for this year is extra cheesey but why cant the lions win this year. With all the crap going on in GB & Minnesota over Favre and tampering charges, as well as the Urlacher situation in Chicago....the only team not in the headlines are the Lions. I am actually looking forward to this preseason to see some of these new players. Curious to see if Kevin Smith can take a 2 yard loss and turn it into a 25 yard gain like Barry Sanders did. Also intrigued about Dizon. For a smaller linebacker he is like a hawk in practice, swarming around the ball. Can he do that in game situations? Lions promise to run the ball to set up the pass this year. If they can do that, this offense can be explosive. If they cant, they could have a typical 6-10 season. I am predicting 8 wins this year for the lions. No playoffs but great strides.

beware of the panthers and colts.

I can't believe some of the names I am hearing. Ysebart, Burr, Murphy, Fedorov, Coffey, Chevlade, Shanahan. Why not say Yzerman and be done with it. Some are good tho. Essensa, Ranford come to mine for me. I think the player I always look back on and go "i dont remember him as a red wing" is Adam Graves tho. I remember watching the wings in the 80s..but honestly can't picture him in a red wings sweater. Always jump to his days with the Rangers.

what an unbelievable game! I think that super bowl has to go down as one of the best ever, if not the best. Exciting play from both teams. Incrediable play to end the first half and just when you think the Cards were left for dead, they strom back and found a way to get the ball to Fitzgerald. Fitz takes it to the house and normally its plays like that that seals the deal. But again Ben showed us why he is a leader and rallies the team to march down the field to win the game in the final minute. Still, Warner had 35 secs and 2 timeouts with plenty of chances to take it down the field again. Definately lot closer than i thought it would be but glad. that 4th quarter goes down as one of the best roller coaster finishes ever in a football game.

all depends on the work schedule for me.
