I recall under Carr that Michigan always had a strong defense under Hermann or English. Wonder if Michigan will have a consistance strong defense again under Robinson. I personally don't think he is that great of a coach. Didn't do much in Syracuse.

Arizona Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Steelers!! Super Bowl XLIII is set. Hard to believe that Pittsburgh isnt immediately heavy favorites. Arizona is an interesting story tho. There offense is killer and it should be interesting to see if the Steelers D will stop the Cards O.

my secret plans were to crash this party, probably with me and my gf. The biggest thing that prevented me from doing that is the weather. We shoveled, had dinner and then saw all our shoveling get covered up and thought..not gonna happen. glad to see everyone had a good time. unfortunately i have to work on the 31st til 3pm so not gonna be able to join anyone for that date. In the future dates, some of the saturday games at 8pm might be feasible for me to attend.

Kinda of cool for the Lions to hire our own Matt Schwartz, creator of this great website, to run the team. I know the team is in bad shape and normally someone who is in an entirely different sports field would be a bad choice, I have confidence in Matt's ability to run this team. FOX is good at doing NASCAR races. Mostly because of Darrell Waltrip's commentary. Maybe they should give FOX all NASCAR races and call it a day. I am with you tho. I cannot stand the announcers for FOX...especially for this BCS NC game.

To me the game was lost in the first half. MSU owned real estate in GA territory but had practically nothing to show for it. Watching that game with a few friends yesterday, I must have been the most disappointed with a 6-3 halftime lead. You just knew that the 3rd quarter would belong to Matt Stafford. Sure enough, it was.

Didn't the state of NY hold the previous WC?? I orginally thought of NYC, but what venue? the new Yankee Stadium? Giants Stadium? I find it hard to believe that Steinbrenner gives a rats ass about the NHL. I actually voted for Denver. Invesco Field would be perfect for a west coast matchup of say Ducks vs Avalanche.

With NASCAR getting back into full run very soon, I decided to start the season thread for NASCAR on this site. Please keep this topic to the title of the thread with regards to NASCAR. F1 or other auto racing circuits, please begin topic or post comments in another thread. With that being said, I look forward to this year in NASCAR. My work schedule has allowed me to have more sundays off now so I will definately be spending some of them watching the races. I think Jimmie Johnson will probably win the championship again this year as I don't see another driver as consistant as Johnson. I kinda want Stewart to win the Daytona 500 this year but I can't stand rooting for a Toyota driver. Also interested in seeing how Junior does with his new team. All good stuff and should make for an intersting year. Can't wait for the Daytona 500 to roll around.

What has he done for Denver lately. One divison title in 10 years. .500 record despite having a very good offense. Not to mention the complete collaspe to San Diego this year.

WHOA!! Caleb Campbell (that guy from Army), was not a bad draft pick. Gamble?? yes!! No one knew the status on if he could play in the NFL or not. Worth a shot in the 7th round, pick 218 overall. Most of the time you are lucky if your 7th rounder even puts on a uniform for a game. Kalimba Edwards had 5 sacks this year for the Oakland Raiders, Teddy Lehman played a few games this year for the Bills, Boss Bailey plays for the Denver Broncos. Charles Rogers and Joey Harrington were "can't miss" players in that everyone liked the picks at the time. I question the Mike Williams move the most in that you still had players like DeMarcus Ware, Shawn Merriman in one of the best LB drafts ever.

Mario Williams was horrid his rookie season for the Texans. People thought Houston was nuts at the time for picking him instead of Reggie Bush. Mario is one of the best defense ends in the NFL and clearly is the better choice now. I still pick linemen first in the draft, with secondary picks in round 2.

Give the players a chance already. They are only rookies. I am not saying they were the right picks..because clearly I thought they weren't. Why draft Cherilus when Otah was on the board. Cherilus wasn't even supposed to be picked in the first round. Huge gamble. Also Dizon's size should have deminsed his value too. The best move the Lions made on draft day last year took place on day 2 when they picked Kevin Smith.

There is no chance of this team winning next season even if Culpepper is not there. The Lions need to grab a QB who doesn't have a starting job but should have one with Matt Cassel or Derek Anderson...Use Culpepper as just a "body" to backup that quarterback and then go and grab a USC's Sanchez like quarterback for long term future qb.

No quarterback taken until day 2. And I would love to have Matt Cassel to go along with Culpepper for the qb tandum next year.
