I agree with Blak's post. MSU has to take care of PSU before anything else can be accomplished further. Yes, I would love to see Michigan State in the Rose Bowl as Big Ten champs but nothing can happen if the Spartans dont win against the Nittany Lions. Plus if I cheered for the Wolverines and they won but Spartans lost...i would feel sick to my stomach.

this week's results won't count. crabcakes'n'redwings is the only team eliminated due to not making a pick. Expect the new thread tomorrow kugz. Just got back from a weekend trip and need to get caught up at home before internet stuff.

Week 1 thread Week 2 thread Week 3 thread Week 4 thread Week 5 thread Lot of talk lately on if this game needs any changing. I think it is fine the way it is right now. I think some people didn't know how to play the first time around and went with "boardline" games instead of picking the teams that you know can win. Sure they tried to save the best teams for week 12, but forgot to make it to week 2. Maybe next year the game can be tweaked but nothing right now. The Detroit Lions are improving too!!

Ah no! MSU will have a better year in college hoops than Michigan. All it will take is a few losses to teams any respectable hoops program should beat. Here is Michigan's teams to make sure they beat in the next few weeks: Norfolk State Savannah State Eastern Michigan Oakland Florida Gulf Coast NC Central No one is gonna be surprised if Michigan can't get past UCLA, Duke or Maryland..but you gotta get pasted all of those above mentioned teams.

nobody else playing anymore?
-
I agree. Nearly half of the people who played got eliminated based on that game alone.

Week 1 thread Week 2 thread Week 3 thread Week 4 thread Week 5 & we are down to just 5 teams. I wish there was someway more people could play longer in this game but I guess thats the nature of this game. The longer it goes, the less people remain. i'll admit i heard it on the radio here yesterday. I had to look it up in order to see if the pictures were as funny as they seemed to me. Gladly I was not disappointed. Soccer people are insane. I forget which game (the regular soccer people know) which recently was played in an empty stadium because of unruly fans. It was a critical game as well too. Imagine the Wings announcing that one of the Stanley Cup finals games will be played to an empty arena. This whole Red Wings Nation would blow up.

I suddenly just realized an interesting bowl scenario for MSU. -Lets say that Penn State and Ohio State win the rest of their games. -Penn State goes to the BCS games as well as Ohio State, that leaves Michigan State heading to the Capital one bowl game. -Alabama and Florida battle for the SEC but Florida wins the SEC championship, sending Florida to the BCS and Bama to the Capital One Bowl. -Alabama & Nick Saban plays Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. I dont even think i made a big stretch either for this prediction.

2008-2009 NBA Season Thread (Pistons trade for Allen Iverson)
timothy1997 replied to timothy1997's topic in Other Sports
Really wanted to stay and hear them disect this trade on sports radio today but unfortunately I had to work. Just broke the news about the trade here right before I left for work. The more I think about it. I like the move. In the spirit of election time, I endorse this trade. I am sad to see Billups go but he was getting older and he wasn't gonna get better anyway. We weren't winning a championship with him on this team. AI gives us a shot this year and if it doesn't work out...let him go along with Rasheed. Use that $35 million to go after free agents like Shawn Marion and Chris Paul. I would love to see Paul in a Pistons jersey. Trust in Joe D Pistons fans!! -

after Jacksonville found a way to lose to the Bengals, I am offically scared that the Jags will do the same next weekend at Ford Field. COME ON LIONS!! YOU CAN DO THIS!! DON'T START WINNING NOW!!

I think I am in 2nd place behind Dano33, but still trail him by 4 pts.

13 out of 19 with the Wings-Canucks game still playing. Not too shabby.

while I have a hard time believing that anyone seriously thought Michigan would win the Big Ten title this year, I thought they would at least be competitive, finish 7-5 or 8-4..make the Alamo or Sun bowl. I never thought they would lose to Toledo. The only good thing for Michigan is that this program has hit rock bottom for this year and the only way to go now is up. I mentioned before that this team lacked desire. They seriously need to play like a team right now. That is what I am probably the most surprised with the addition of DickRod. I assumed that Michigan would play like a team and at least have a solid defense that would win a few games for them. So far it really has only paid off in the Wisconsin game. I also don't buy into the "only a walk-on" talk either because right now the biggest player for MSU has been a walk on in Blair White. The kid just shows up and plays, working hard for every catch he has. Michigan could use more players like White.

You are probably right with the predictions. MSU is having their best season in quite some time so this season is already a success, regardless of what happens the next few weeks. I just would love a share of the Big Ten title tho. I wonder what Michigan fans feel about these next 2 games for the Wolverines. I just hope there are still Michigan fans in here. I noticed they have dwindled the past few weeks.

WVU also had one of the weakest conferences in college football too. Big East hasnt been the same since Miami and Va Tech left. Anyway on to this weeks games, MSU showed why they are one of the best teams in the nation today. They found a way to win despite giving up a ton on the run and Ringer, was practically shut down. Great coaching today for the Spartans and with 2 more wins, they will win at least a share of the Big Ten. Michigan on the other hand let the Purdue win a game they probably shouldn't have. The only thing Michigan can hope for is a win against Ohio State, which I am rooting for right now.
