    World Series

anyone else feel that whomever wins this shorten game will win the world series? If phillies win, they obviously win the title. But if Tampa wins, how does Philly muster enough emotion to win a game down there. All the momentum would be killed, letting the air out of the phillies sails. This shorten game is not only a win in the series, but clear momentum heading down the final stretch. And here is to hoping that this game gets played tonight.

I think its because of all the trash talking...all the little brother talk...and how Dantonio has made a point that MSU's top game is Michigan, regardless of record. That is why MSU is making such a big deal of this. Not sure about billboard. I heard about the shirt but do you have a link on the billboard story. For me personally, if MSU wins out, they will win at least a share of the Big Ten title...if not the Big Ten outright. Thats a case to make a bigger deal about. Oh and time to change your avatar BRTD. Unless you think Purdue is your little brother.

Didnt Navy make a big deal after they beat a 1-7 Notre Dame team last year? Granted they haven't beaten ND in like forever, but still. They only just beat a 1-7 team.

Washington still has to play Washington State tho. Both those teams would get blown out by Michigan

I agree 100%. Graham talked his mouth off prior to the MSU game but at least he backed it up and had a helluva game. I think non-MSU fans will be surprised in MSU NEXT YEAR. Sure this team has Ringer and Hoyer..but what about next year. MSU has done well recruiting since Dantonio has come over and that is how you build successful programs. Anderson will probably be the main back next year with Cousins as the QB, but the incoming freshman like Baker and Maxwell are top HS talent. THESE ARE NOT THE SAME OLD SPARTANS!!

Michigan traditionally always had a "GO TO GUY". Whether it was David Terrell, Braylon Edwards, Chris Perry, Marquise Walker or Mike Hart..they always had someone whom the system was designed for. That made average quarterbacks (Navarre, Deisbach, Henson), much better. I think you are right with lacking leadership but I find it hard to believe that this program lacks talent. One of the biggest players on the field last saturday was a walk-on. Blair White stepped up over the past few weeks and is making big plays for MSU. I think Michigan is missing Adam Arrington, Manningham, Boren over Ryan Mallett. White is having a great season and helping Hoyer, who is an average college quarterback, but up amazing numbers. You can have people step up, no matter what level they are on. Under RR, I believe Michigan will either be very good or very bad. No medium under this system. Spread offense can work in the Big Ten, but only if done right. MSU tried the extreme spread offense under John L and from the playcalling, it seemed like MSU was confused more than the opponents defense. The same scenario could happen in Michigan as well. Only time will tell.

I expected that as well. Nice to get that 2-0 shutout win tho. I also was surprised that Michigan got their a$$ handed to them in the Boston U. game. I knew it was a tough game but definately thought it would be closer than 7-2.

13 isn't too shabby. Keeps me right up there at the top. Where I should be all year long.

It's called bragging rights. All the Michigan fans came outta the wordwork last year and posted after the Michigan win only. Thats why I called out bandwagon fans on this website to make a post on here prior to the game. True about the history is on your side, but MSU definately is in better shape right now. They are more of a team and on the same page....oh and they have desire. Something Michigan lacks badly.

Comparing Michigan under Carr is like comparing MSU under John L. Not the same program that is on the field this year. MSU had a good non-conference record. The only bad non-conference loss that I can remember in recent years as the LA Tech game. They have always got out to good starts. Problem is that once the Big Ten schedule started, they would lose games they have no business losing like Indiana.

my point on time is that these are not your "Same Old Spartans" as well as these are not the same Michigan football program. I agree with you on Appy State. Programs just scheduling them are only asking for trouble and being upset. You gotta beat Toledo tho! The only thing Michigan might want to consider is that EVERY Michigan coach loses their first game against MSU. Bo, Mo, Carr, and now RR. As far as the jewelry...yeah ok. we will see.

new rule starting this week. You can make your pick just as long as the puck hasn't dropped in the game your picking. Your entry still counts Tane.

    Survival Hockey---Week 3

Week 1 thread Week 2 thread Week 3 is here & here are the results. Let me know if there are any errors. Only 14 people are left. Less than 25% of the original teams that signed up are still alive. This game is moving fast!! Just to let everyone know who didn't play this time or got eliminated, it is very likely to have a 2nd chance game depending on when this one ends. The eliminated section shows who got knocked out from last week's games and the still alive section shows who is in. The bold teams to the right of your name are the teams you CANNOT pick again this year. when exactly was that game again? Appy State and Toledo happened in recent years for Michigan's football program.

Michigan can't get to 7 wins this year and you practically need 7 wins to guarntee a bowl game. Sorry Big Blue, but you are going to the Toilet Bowl this year.

Michigan State never lost to Appy State or Toledo tho. MSU just wasn't that good in the Big Ten. Michigan loses to EVERYONE.

of course you would take the freshman over the senior qb if they are on the same level....my point is in the one game situation..Michigan would rather have Hoyer than Threet right now.

I though Graham was a beast today. Talk about making a statement and then giving your best effort to back your words. I especially was impressed in Michigan's defense when MSU got the ball inside the 20 and had to settle for a "FG attempt" by Swenson. Swenson nearly cost the Spartans the game today. It's no wonder that Dantonio went for it on 4th & 1 late in the game.

I think a lot of college football fans, especially the Michigan fans would take Hoyer right about now. Hoyer isn't a great qb, but passable. Much better than the walk-on quarterbacks that Michigan is stuck with.

GIVE MSU SOME F***ING CREDIT!! MSU overcame bad calls (Minor's receiving TD), overcame a deficit (down 21-14) where MSU would normally fold..and fought hard for a much needed victory of MSU's main rival. Michigan State is clearly going in the right direction and even tho you may not admit it, they earned that victory. They were the better team on the field.
