-
it only gets tougher. pretty soon you only have a handful of games to pick from.
-
Friday: Anaheim @ Ottawa Philadelphia @ New Jersey NY Rangers @ Columbus San Jose @ Florida Atlanta @ Detroit Los Angeles @ St Louis Saturday: New Jersey @ Philadelphia Atlanta @ Boston Ottawa @ Toronto Anaheim @ Montreal Carolina @ NY Islanders Pittsburgh @ NY Rangers San Jose @ Tampa Bay Los Angeles @ Nashville Columbus @ Minnesota Washington @ Dallas Detroit @ Chicago Florida @ St Louis Buffalo @ Colorado Edmonton @ Vancouver Calgary @ Phoenix

double post. might as well make the most of it. GO GREEN!! GO WHITE!!
-
Good call. I am scared s***less right now. A Spartan victory over Michigan will be more of a relief than anything else. It will allow me to take a deep breath.
-
Players gotta watch the refs now too. Imagine if that happened in a Red Wing game if the ref just checked Osgood outta the crease.

"LITTLE BROTHER" is gonna lay the smackdown on "BIG BROTHER" on Saturday. I heard Mike Hart will be there to watch the game too. Fitting since he is the one who labeled MSU as "little brother" last year. Seriously this thread needs to be more energized this close to the UM-MSU game. Where is redwings1914?? He normally drinks the big blue kool-aid and comes up with crazy talk about how great Michigan is. Where is Happy Pancake? He is missing this year. Hell, WHERE IS MATT?? Thats right!! I called out Matt, to make a post in this thread prior to gameday. I think it has to do to the fact that a lot of Michigan fans have temporary jumped off the bandwagon for the rest of the year and MSU fans can't believe this is sitting right there in our lap for us to win a game at Ann Arbor like this.

Still awaiting picks from these people. Tane: DET, PIT dats13owns: SJ, MTL

I don't get what that means at all. Osama might be best known for hiding right now than anything else. I wouldn't make that comment if I was your next door neighbor. I am calling out all Michigan fans in these boards to at least chip in prior to the game. I know several of them from years past have gone in hiding this year, leaving just BRTD and mannysbetter to fend for themselves. NOT COOL!! Worse yet is that if Michigan wins, they will come out of hiding and say "Same Old Spartans".
-
Michigan-Michigan State game only a few days away and all the talk here is on the Michigan-Ohio State rival, go figure.
-
Aussie Wing, are you going to post an overall score on how we are doing 2 weeks into the season? I am showing Dano33 with the early lead with 30 right, while I trail with 29 right.

Minnesota defeats Columbus on Saturday.
-
14-5 this week so far. 6-1 on friday!!
-
glad you enjoyed it. I was wondering what the hell happened to MSU. They got schooled today. The teacher still owns the pupil. Hope this team doesnt slide next week against the Wolverines.

Mods, please pin this at the top. Week 1 thread Week 2 is here and here are the results. If I have made any errors, feel free to post them. The eliminated section shows who got knocked out from last week's games and the still alive section shows who is in. The bold teams to the right of your name are the teams you CANNOT pick again this year. 62 teams played this year. Not bad for year 1. Please only post if you have played in last week's thread as those who just make a prediction now, will be ineligable. Also please indicate which game and DAY the game is on. Confusion on some games like SJ-LA who actually played twice last weekend.
-
I am not willing to make any predictions on this huge game. I will say I am confident in this team and a win will go a long way in restoring this football program. I am ok with a loss as well because everyone in the Big Ten has been beaten by Ohio State. Michigan State has a good chance to win the Big Ten title with a win against the Buckeyes.
-
I am thinking of making that a rule change for next game. I dont have a problem with that. You pretty much are limiting the games you can pick from by waiting.
-
You can edit your picks up to the 7pm friday deadline, so feel free to make an early pick and then adjust it later on. Perfectly exceptable. Just don't edit past the deadline.
-
Nationally I have to pick UNC to win it all. Tar Heels might go wire-to-wire #1 as well. They are loaded with talent and return the nation's best player in Tyler Hansbrough. North Carolina cuts down the nets in Ford Field in April 2009!!!
-
OF COURSE!!! It's called 2nd chance for a reason. EVERYONE ELSE IS PLAYING FOR SECONDS IN THIS GAME!! I AM GOING TO BE KING OF THE HILL!!

s***! I forgot the Boilermakers were returning a ton of players. I thought they lost a bunch of players. Yeah, Purdue is gonna be a good team next year.
-
this is a game that we are playing each week where you pick a team in a game to "guarntee a win" with. The catch is you can only pick one team once. Keep tabs as this game probably will be "reset" at some midway point.
-
still a lot of people who are still alive that need to make their predictions.

Michigan also had the benefit of an easy schedule that year in 2006. They only beat 3 opponents with 10 wins or more (CMU, ND, & Wisconsin). Only 1 of those opponents were on the road. One was a MAC team. They only played 3 bowl teams from the Big Ten. (OSU, PSU and Wisconsin). Now I am not saying Michigan should be penalized for that. Sometimes it just happens that way. Michigan scheduled Toledo when they were tops in the MAC and now the Rockets are terrible. Michigan played a bad Vanderbilt and Ball State team in 2006....and now look at those teams. Sometimes you get a few lucky breaks with the schedule. I am just saying, I don't think Michigan will be 11-0 at any point next year. Michigan is playing more bowl eligable teams this year as well as they are likely gonna do the same next year when they play this conference schedule. Sept. 26 INDIANA* (HC) Oct. 3 at Michigan State* Oct. 10 at Iowa* Oct. 24 PENN STATE* Oct. 31 at Illinois* Nov. 7 PURDUE* Nov. 14 at Wisconsin* Nov. 21 OHIO STATE* I am willing to say that there is at least 5 bowl teams right there. The Big Ten has come a long way since just being Ohio State-Michigan game and winner takes Big Ten title. More teams have a shot now then there has been in a while. Hell the Big Ten title might come down to Nov. 22nd, but it may not be the Michigan-Ohio State game. Michigan State & Penn State play that day too.
