Oh I agree. Losing to Toledo does more to Michigan's reputation than the fact that Michigan lost everyone from the previous year, turnovering the ball like crazy, no offense/defense, and is under new coach. Michigan is bad this year. No doubt about it. But you gotta beat a 1-4 Toledo team from the MAC. The one thing that Michigan fans my want to look at is Alabama. Bama lost to UL-Monroe last year. Now look at where they are at.

I guess my point about recruiting mostly has to do when you look at Nebraska. Ever since Osborne retired, the program has took a major downward spin. Why? Is it just coaching?? Is it recruiting? Is it everyone else in the Big 12 catching up with them?? If Michigan has a rough year next year and the following, why couldnt that scenario happen there?? Tennessee is another good scenario to consider. The Vols used to be a foregone conclusion that the SEC (at least the East section) would always come down to Florida and Tennessee. Now so many other teams have "caught up" to the Vols.

of course Bush looked pretty cool in the video. It's senior year and he has done nothing but goof off all year. Wouldnt be surprised if this ceremony was inbetween ultimate frisbee and video games.

I would probably keep Leigh Bodden and Ernie Sims to that list too. Both are young and have lots of talent.

I thought numbers would be around 33% out after week 1. I thought 2 games crossed my mind as good games to pick in week 1: LA & SJ and Dallas & Columbus. One was right, one was wrong. The game is fine. It's an intriguing game and it fits well with the weekend picks game.
-
yup. just speeds up the game a bit. It all depends on when this initial game ends this year. there is like 26 weekends of NHL hockey. Technically we can keep this game going all year. I knew some people would be out in week 1. I just didnt expect 45% of the participants to be out.
-
already thinking of a 2nd chance game once this one is done. Just debating on if 1 or 2 picks. I guess it all depends on when this season actually ends.

It's also hard to ignore that this is the worst a Michigan football team has been since before Bo. If some of the donors and alumni are upset and want DickRod gone, that speaks volumes much louder than these computer geeks who put together a www.firerrod.com website. As a non-Michigan fan, I am gonna enjoy this year. May not get another year like this one ever. If this continues for the next few years tho, once DickRod has his players in tho...then this setback will hurt Michigan in recruiting. Lot of good players are looking at MSU as an up-and-coming program..and rightfully so.

how is it that only 2 people said 2-0 wins for the Lions this year on the poll? Thats just crazy!!

I didnt like the matchup against Ottawa. I thought that game could have gone either way. This game really has you look at the matchup than anything else, pickin' on the bad NHL teams.

NY Rangers over Toronto on Friday

Ok mods, feel free to pin this at the top of this page. With the pick'em game by Aussie Wing and the playoff game by NFM#25, I wanted to come up with something else that can be done during the course of the NHL hockey season. I came up with the Survival Hockey game for this. For those that have never played, the rules are simple. --You get one guess to pick the winner of one specific hockey game for the weekend. Keep picking winners and you keep playing. You pick a loser, your eliminated. --Win by regulation, OT or shootout...it doesn't matter. A win is a win. Weekend games are Fri, Sat, and Sun. --It doesn't matter if you pick the winner of a game that everyone is picking or if your just out on your own. Pick whichever game you want to pick from the list. --Here is the catch tho, you can only pick every NHL team to win once thru the whole season. It gets harder as the season goes along where you can't back the Red Wings anymore if you picked them to win early on. For example, Carolina plays Florida in week 1....You pick the canes to beat the panthers and they do in a shootout win. But from here on out, you cannot pick the canes to win anymore due to the fact that you already backed them up. There are about 23 weeks of hockey so this can be quite interesting towards the end. --The game will end with one team left as the winner. If all remaining teams lose that week, all will get a free pass and get to play on til a winner is left. Everyone knows the rules? Feel free to message me on here if you have any questions. Here is week 1. Pick a game and the winner from anyone of these games. Friday, October 10th Florida at Carolina NY Islanders at New Jersey Chicago at NY Rangers Montreal at Buffalo Washington at Atlanta Columbus at Dallas Nashville at St. Louis Saturday, October 11th St. Louis at NY Islanders Detroit at Ottawa NY Rangers at Philadelphia Atlanta at Florida Montreal at Toronto Chicago at Washington Carolina at Tampa Bay New Jersey at Pittsburgh Dallas at Nashville Boston at Minnesota Columbus at Phoenix Los Angeles at San Jose Vancouver at Calgary Sunday, October 12th Colorado at Edmonton Phoenix at Anaheim San Jose at Los Angeles Remember to pick the game and the winner from only ONE game. You have until Friday, October 10th at 7pm to make your selection. Good luck to all!

week 2 thread will be up later on tonight. Will also have who's in & who's out in that thread by tonight. Lot of people got knocked out by the Dallas-Columbus game.

Yes but the team certainly has more talent then Toledo. I am replacing all my "APPY STATE" jokes with "TOLEDO" now. Clearly this loss is much worse than the Appy State loss. On paper, this should have been the first game you went to "pencil a win" in. DickRod won't be fired this year but if this team is this bad next year...his coaching seat will definately get hot. I personally would give him 3 years no matter what. Thats enough time to get his program and offensive scheme in.

I am looking to add a Dantonio poster next to my Tom Izzo poster. I have confidence in his abilities, no matter who we are playing.
-
Wisconsin is not a top 10 team. Polls dont really matter til the end of the season. Clearly Wisconsin was overrated like they are every year.
-
11-9 so far. Had Dallas for 2 of those losses. WTH?!?!?!
-
HOLY TOLEDO!! I had this game penciled in for a Michigan win. Never again. Too bad Eastern Michigan couldn't be on Michigan's schedule this year. EMU would actually have a shot. The sad part is I am scared s***less about the Michigan-MSU game. I somehow expect to see the Michigan team that pulled out a win against Wisconsin to show up and find a way to beat MSU again. I think it is safe to say that Michigan will not make a bowl game this year tho.

Only other date that would work is Jan 30th when the wings play a home game on the 29th and a road game against the Capitals on the 31st. If elected, Obama would have enough on his agenda that first week of being President anyway.

last day to join.

The fact that Tony Stewart would have been the driver "robbed" of a win by a driver going below the yellow line is the reason why they screwed over Regan Smith and said his move was illegal, regardless of being forced below the yellow line.

anymore interested?
