The thing about Michigan State's season last year that really impressed me is that they were in every game last year. They lost Wisconsin by 3, they lost to Northwestern in OT, Ohio state loss by 7, Iowa loss in 2OT, Michigan loss by 4, and BC loss by 3. Take those games, give me 2 of those losses into wins and MSU is tied for 2nd overall in the Big Ten. Michigan State had a good season last year despite letting a few games go. If Dantanio can find a way to get his team to finish, Michigan State is a sleeper in the Big Ten this year. They already have a great HB, solid QB, they have a history of great WRs...even when no one is slated as the go-to-guy early on (Thomas last year), and a strong OL. The D worries me a bit but I think they are gonna be ok. St. Dic's departure hurts the team more than Thomas does. Bottom line. I think Michigan State has a golden opportunity to show that they belong this year and if they dont take advantage, they might never get another shot like this for a long time.

At least MSU didnt lose to Appy State Michigan State should have won the Michigan game last year. The way I see it, this is the Spartans best shot at being Big Blue in quite sometime. I will eat my crow but I wont have to.

Nah, October will be.....when Michigan State goes down to AA and comes home with bragging rights.

Mods feel free to move this if you wish. Ok I turn on Fox Sports Detroit to see the Tigers game at 6pm and to my surprise, no pregame, no game, nothing. The new Fox Sports broadcast rule stats that FSD cannot show coverage of a MLB Tigers game (or any team for that matter) on Saturday until 7pm. It actually scrolled that underneath on the ticker. I look online and yep, the game has started at 6pm on schedule. That means when the broadcast resumes at 7pm, the baseball game will be 1/3 over with!! This is serious news if this carries over to the NHL as well. That means that if a Red Wing game starts at 6pm on a Saturday night, won't be allowed to air until 7pm..with either a tape delay or the game started already. Also if a game starts at 7pm, the pregame will not be shown. Just curious if anyone has heard of this broadcast rule yet?

ok what is going to happen? What does everyone think?? I think #4 is going to be traded to the Vikes but not til the tail end of Pack training camp. No way does the Pack allow #4 to have a ton of time to study the Vikes system before week 1 game against the Vikes. That game is a MNF game too. Might end up being the most anticipated and watched MNF game in quite some time. Thats my prediction and sticking to it.

I remember that game. I believe the lions went to 6-2 with that win. I seriously thought that this was a playoff team after that, drank the kool-aid and started planning weekends off in Jan to watch the playoffs. I got tricked last year like the rabbit from all those Trix commericals. I thought to myself "silly Lion fans, the playoffs are for REAL teams". CAN'T THE RABBIT HAVE A BOWL OF CEREAL!! CAN'T THE LIONS BE A REAL TEAM!!

Lions havent won in GB in forever! @ Houston is gonna be a tough game to win. Texans are a very underrated team. Tampa Bay are a good team and can challenge the NFC for the best team in the conference. The Bucs are back! Those 3 games are possible losses. They will win one of those games and then the Lions drop down to 8-8. As far as kevin smith, I just hope he stays in the lineup all year.

To me the biggest accomplish from #4 isnt the super bowls or passing numbers, but its his long tenure at qb. In the NFL, qbs come and go, they get injuried. #4 is the true ironman in the NFL and toughness is the number one attribute I consider from #4. ..and I am a Lions fan.

I said it early on and i will say it again. This whole thing is sad and putting a sour note on what should be a hall of famers final chapter. #4's legacy is being tarnished by all of this. #4 and Pack organization to blame.

I think #12 wants to play, thats it. I think he would turn down a contract extension in order to play. SO WHAT!!!! You guys got Brohm. Get rid of #12, put Brohm into the the "QB of the future" role. Either way what the Packers brass is doing now, is disrespectful. $20 million to go away is absurd. You know what no one is talking about as much as they should?? Ryan Grant's holdout. The Pack still dont have a running game without Grant. They need Grant more than Grant needs the Pack.

Why is it so hard for TT and the packers organization to say to Rodgers "s*** HAPPENS" and give the job back to #4. Yeah, #12 is gonna be pissed and probably will request a trade to the Jets, but isnt that a helluva lot better than letting #4 go to the Vikes. There are more #12's out there than #4's.
