I have directv so I have the BTN. I absolutely love the channel. They got previews going on which is absolutely sweet. Only thing I dont like is that they moved the channel from the 200s to the 600s.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

Whatever happens from here, the Packers organization has shown poor management skills in handling this #4 siituation. If #4 wants to play, let him play. Who is Green Bay to fly down to Mississippi with a $20 million check to #4 and tell him to go away. Let #4 play for whomever he wants to play for. He has earned it.

I am not convinced that Michigan will even win their first game against Utah. Utah is a good team and growing pains might start early for the Wolverines.

I have but this is the most exicted I have been for a Spartans season in a long time. I feel that MSU has a good coach in Dantonio and as long as MSU is in every game this year like last year, they are gonna turn some of those losses into wins this year. The only thing I question this year is Ringer. Can he have a monster year like everyone anticipates, can he handle the load full time, can he be the "guy" in this offense (no davis, no thomas...more defenders can focus on Ringer), can Ringer deliver in short yardage. As far as Michigan is concerned, I think you will see all 3 qbs, (threet, sheridan, feagin) play by week 5.

    2008 Detroit Tigers Season Thread

Yanks make a cameo appearance in Detroit for a make-up game on Sept. 1. Cant wait to see how the fans treat him. I hope its loud cheers and applause. He has earned it. Thank you Pudge for helping the Tigers earn their stripes again.

The Official 2008 Green Bay Packers Thread

I think a lot of Packer fans are underestimating how much #4 means to the Packers. I hear things like "we are still good with Rodgers" and "Rodgers is the best qb in the NFC North". Rodgers is still very much unproven. He has the tools to be a good qb but so did Joey Harrington. Just because you are drafted high and have a lot of talent, doesnt equal success. I think ultimately the Packers will finish 2nd....maybe even 3rd or tied with the Bears. The only team I figure in the Packers finishing ahead of is Detroit. No playoff appearance by the Pack. Minnesota Green Bay Chicago Detroit

    LGW's Pucks & Pigskin II

I was wondering about this. I had a ton of fun last year. While I am very interested in joining, I dont think I will be able to make the live draft. I normally work at 3pm on sundays so at this point...I am not participating this year.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

that is the biggest nonsense of them all. Vikes QB coach is #4's friend. It's not tampering for two buddies to call and "shoot the bull" like #4 says.

More proof ESPN doesn't even watch hockey

The Red Sox, Red Wings were wire-to-wire champs. You can say all you want but when it comes down to it, you cannot be surprised that they won it all. Celtics had an unbelievable turnaround but most of the credit goes to the acquistion of the big 3. Take Crosby, AO, and Joey T....and any team in the NHL can be a playoff, cup contending team. Even the Florida Panthers. The Giants overcame the most difficult odds when compared to what the wings, celtics, and sox had to face. They were the true underdogs and defeated the undefeated team. No one gave them a shot to win it, even right before the championship game. What the Giants did is a testament that teamwork pays off.

More proof ESPN doesn't even watch hockey

AO probably deserves it more than Sid but this just goes to show you that Sid reaches the non-hockey, casual fan more than AO. As far as the best team thing. Between the Red Sox, Giants, Celtics and Red Wings. The Red Wings are probably the 3rd-4th choice. No way do they win that award over the Giants or Celtics.

    Eliminate 2 Teams

the problem I have with this poll is that you HAVE to eliminate a Canadian team. Curious why there isnt 1 question with 10 answers with your choice for multiple answers. Definately would make more sense.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

Think again. Barry Sanders was beloved in this town. WAS is the key word because with his sudden retirement, there are some people that still have ill will towards him. You dont think it will hurt his legacy now, but it will once everything is settled. The other comparisons are BS because they all left and returned in good terms. This is not on good terms. Oh and the better NFL comparison isnt reggie white, but emmitt smith. Reggie to me, is best known as an Eagle...not a Packer.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

That maybe but #4 has tranished his legacy by flip flopping and coming across as an attention *****. And the Packers have hurt their organization by not having a clear cut plan on what to do with #4. To say that they are set with Rodgers as their starter and dont need #4, even if he was available and wanted to play for GB, is absurd. #4 has earned the right to be the GB starting QB, regardless who is next in line. And if the Packers dont want him back, then let #4 get whatever he wants, including his unconditional release. Shame on #4! Shame on the Packers!! Hope everything gets straighten out quickly. Someday soon, they will have to recongize #4's accomplishment, ie retiring #4, NFL HOF.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

The problem I have with #4 is that he flip flops too much. he now says that he felt pressured by the Packers to retire. Probably because they were sick of him with the whole retired or not thing. Thats bulls***!! His comment of pressure is an attempt to me to tarnish the GB organization. Just retire baby!
  20. timothy1997

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

comparing #4's retirement to Reggie White's isnt even a fair comparison. #4 is jerking around his retirement more similar to when Barry Sanders shocked everyone and called it a career. There are still people that hate Sanders here in Detroit for what he did. Wonder how long before there are people that begin to just hate #4 and what him to shut up....if they dont have them already.
  21. timothy1997

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

Am I not the only one that thinks #4 and the Packers organization are ruining what SHOULD be a great retirement of a living legend? I also think that #4 is an attention *****. He likes everyone talking about this. In or Out #4, pick a side. Packers organization, take him back or cut him....do either one. Let him go where he wants to go. He has earned that right.
  22. timothy1997

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

You have got to be kidding. #4 is a surefire hall of famer. He has won a Super Bowl. To me there is no debate that #4 is one of the greatest QBs ever. ANY qb the packers use after #4 will be a huge dropoff.
  23. timothy1997

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

All Rodgers wants to do is play. If #4 comes back this year to GB, then I would want out if i was #12. Rodgers can go to a lot of teams to play. I find it hard to believe that GB will have another dream season like last year. May still make the playoffs but no way do they get to the Super Bowl this year.

The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008

Packers should trade him to the Lions. That will make him retire again real quick.

Red Wings Up for an ESPY

the NY Giants are the team of the year. It's simple. With the Red Wings, Celtics, Red Sox....you can make a case entering the season that they would be good and have a shot at the title. The Giants weren't even supposed to make the playoffs or be any good. They never played at home during the playoffs, hell they played in the super bowl and were heavy underdogs still. Giants overcame all obstacles, gelled like a team should do and were fun to watch down the stretch. That cannot be said of the Red Wings, Celtics or Red Sox.
