who are you gonna take out of the lineup??
-
Pens have last change in game 6, hence the wings will stick with ZDH line and keep things the same. Question is how hurt, drained are the Pens. They might be the one to mix up their lines than Detroit.
-
Bettman or Buttnugget as you say, loves Crosby. Therefore the Pens and Crosby love Bettman. Hence the Pens fans love Bettman. Keep in mind under the old pre-salary cap era, the Pens were a smaller market and couldnt compete with the high priced Red Wings, in fact nearly losing their franchise. Bettman (and the combo of Crosby) saved Pittsburgh their team.

Avery Johnson would ruin this team. No way!! Pistons are big on Asst. Coach Michael Curry. Don't be surprised to see him as the next Pistons head coach.

Surprised no one realized this yet. Today is Gary Betteman's birthday. Come on everyone, what are you getting him this year?? Keep it clean too!! I hope he has one uncomfortable night, booed relentlessly tonight so much that he rushes over to Windsor, kneels down and kisses Canadian soil because its the only place that may feel like home for him. Edit: Spelling fix. Oh F**K it...he doesnt deserve to have his name spelled correctly.

I am not sure I can take anymore of this game. Just someone in red score please. Doesnt matter who...just someone in red.
-
I agree. Red Wings are pissed they are not on the ice celebrating with the cup right now. They will use that as fuel in the opening minutes of OT

like a lot of other nights, I leave the computer logged into the LGW forums. I will play my part tonight.

this thread deserves to be bumped again. Congrats to everyone that is not a bandwagoner fan and remain loyal to this team year in and year out. Today is a very special day to be a Red Wings fan.

ok now that the finals are set. I am throwing this date out there for a Stanley Cup Finals party. 5/31 is game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals so unless your going down to the game in Pittsburgh, there are NO EXCUSES!! Thinking that Troy area works best for most people but getting a head count on who is interested. RED WINGS NATION NEEDS YOU!!!
-
The part that bugs me is this had the potential of being an awesome party. Critical Game 4 of the Cup Finals...the party could have been anywhere. Buffalo Wild Wings at The Clem, Champps in Troy, Hockeytown Cafe or even at the Joe for Joevision. Lots of possibilities.

that is what i thought. Whenever I have made the trip to the HHOF, I normally have taken the trip in the summer. Wouldnt you know it....I dont even get to see the real Stanley Cup. Oh well. Still worth the trip to anyone that hasnt been up there yet.

I am pretty sure that the NHL presents the REAL Stanley Cup at the end of the cup finals.

I really think that the NHL missed the mark with their schedule, after the NBA schedule was announced. Detroit plays Saturday, Monday and then Wednesday night....and that is the Pistons. Thats right, the NHL has taken their biggest stage and threw it right at the Pistons-Celtics Eastern Conference Matchup. In a sport that needs more fans and improved ratings, the NHL has failed big time. First off they force Detroit sports fans to pick each night with the Pistons or Red Wings. Talk about sports bars divided in the Motor City. Second in the Boston market, which traditional always has some interest in the Stanley Cup finals regardless of who is playing, they are competing against the Celtics nation and their rich history. Who in Beantown is gonna pick to watch the Red Wings play the Pens when they have the Pistons vs Celtics on at the same time. The NHL should compete, if they have to, against the LA Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. Those markets are less likely to be interested in the Stanley Cup Finals regardless of who is playing. Why did the NHL do this?? Because their biggest tv station contract is with CBC and CBC loves HNIC on Saturday nights. That is why there are so many Saturday Night games in the Cup Finals. The NHL could care less with VS coverage and setting them up to do well in the US ratings. Oh and the NHL has VS going against ABC's coverage of Pistons and Celtics. Talk about suicide. The NHL could have corrected this problem simply. Hold game 1 on Saturday. I think HNIC is one of the greatest things associated with today's NHL and should continue. Game 2 and 3 however could have been played Tuesday and Thursday thus setting up a Lakers-Spurs matchup that most of the games dont even begin til 9pm and you might get a casual sports fan to watch the hockey game and get hooked in that first hour. Shame on the NHL and shame on Betteman for setting the the NHL to fail on the biggest stage. Of course thats just my opinion. I could be wrong.

would love to watch the game..but the Pistons game will on at the same time so I will be watching that game. jk. you know what I will be watching. GO RED WINGS!!
-
Thats the point I originally made and 100% agree with. I don't buy this NHL didn't know or the schedule is made in advance crap. Minor tweakings of the cup finals schedule is not that difficult and would make everyone happy.

another article about the scheduling conflict. http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/16377593/detail.html Sucks for those people that have pistons and red wing season tickets. Both games (saturday and monday) are home and this is the first time ever that the same city the Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Conference Finals are being played in. Tigers also play on Saturday night at the Copa but no one seems to be talking about that conflict. Don't expect that big of a crowd on Saturday at Comerica.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/nhl_exper...g?urn=nhl,83652 Wasn't sure where to put this story. Interesting article tho. I think it will be a long time before they even consider using it in world ice hockey or hockey rinks on US soil.
