Ok how bout this then. The Detroit Red Wings announce that they change their names to the Detroit Little Caesers and we get that pizza guy as our mascot. then we get the goalie net made out of crazy bread. and the puck..well you get the idea what it will be made out of ... there you go! We will have a mascot and everyone will be happy. the game will be more like a party than a game, like an "event".
-
we do have a mascot. Al the Octopus
-
looks like we are gonna have enough for a league. Now we just need Matt on board to see if he is interested in creating a LGW fantasy baseball league.
-
hell of a weekend by the Spartans too.
-
oh so its ok when the spartans are bad in football to wail on us when we lose to big blue, but not ok when it comes to basketball. I get it now. This game is just the icing on the cake of a rather 1 sided weekend in Michigan-Michigan State sports history. State won friday in Ann Arbor, tied yesterday in East Lansing in hockey, and now this. Football maybe the only thing that big blue has sparty on, at least for now.

Not sure about that but it does make sense. Usher was raised in Atlanta so he has a local connection to the city.

I dare you not to watch this whole video and not end up with a mancrush on Brady. "You're balls are the only balls I need" :rotflmao:
-
they are gonna have to. The 2004 Falcons, 2005 Panthers, 2006 Saints all missed the playoffs the next year after losing in the NFC championship.

The big thing that the Packers have going for them & what they always have had since #4 joined the team is good scouting of talent. Their current team has 2 of the best defensive lineman in KGB and Kampman, both players were selected in the 5th round. They also have 3 leaders that they practically got from the scrap heap in trades with Ryan Grant, Atari Bigby, and #4. Lot of it is luck, lot of it is good scouting. Being right on the doorstep and not getting in to the big game can sometimes be the worst position for a team. They want to tweak the team to get their but a lot of teams make too many moves or change what got them their and take steps back. Look at last year's Chicago-New Orleans NFC championship game as example.

Only 8?? Come on the Lions have been rebuilding since 1957, when they last won a championship. Great season by the Packers and it will be interesting to see what this team does in the offseason to try and get over that hump.

double post

i agree. The choke artist, er #4 should retire. Anyone seen all of the Packers fans like NFM#25 or Packer487 lately? They vanished from this thread after the final whistle on sunday.
-
Article As if losing to the Giants at home in -3 weather wasn't enough, someone had to go and change #4's wikipedia page. Ok all you #4-haters in here, who changed his page??
-
yes and the Giants led most of the game, ahead as much as 12 pts until late.

You must be jooking. No way is Tram as good as Ripken or Smith. Tram is a good player but he is not hall of fame worthy. Worthy of votes but not enough to get in. Morris on the other hand, deserves to be in.

Good prediction.

I have said this many times before and will say it again. THE MARK OF A GOOD TEAM IS CAN THEY WHEN GAMES MULTIPLE WAYS. Brady had one of his worst playoff games sunday, yet the Pats still won. The Chargers can kick themselves all summer because they had the Pats on the ropes, then let them go. If you are making field goals instead of touchdowns, you aren't winning, you are losing. Oh when people are finally going to give Eli some f***in respect. He managed the game on Sunday, like he has the last few weeks. He showed what he is capable as a qb, the problem has been he has been too inconsistant. He has talent to rank amongst the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Not even sure how he is classless when he doesn't even really say anything. Rivers on the other hand you can call classless, taunting at fans, but give him props. Rivers played well yesterday despite having a poor knee and a banged up team. Eli didn't want to play in San Diego and instead the chargers traded him to NY for Rivers. Trade worked out for both teams. Players do it all the time. Colts actually drafted Elway and he refused to play for them, saying he would play baseball instead. Colts traded him to Broncos and the rest is history. Lots of people regard Elway as one of the greatest qbs ever. So don't watch the Super Bowl. Your loss. Majority of sports fans and non-sports fans will watch the Super Bowl for multiple reasons regardless of who plays. SC finals, NBA Finals and World Series...the matchup determines audience.
-
naturally, you are from Texas. Maybe if the chokeboys, er Cowboys would have played better, they would be on their way to Zona instead of hitting the links. Hard to argue that both these teams don't deserve to be here now. The Pats are perfect and only be everyone on their schedule. The Giants came out of nowhere and beat no matter who, on the road, in some of the toughest environments. Enjoy the Super Bowl because its the Super Bowl.
-
The Super Bowl is still the Super Bowl. It really doesn't matter who plays in NFL's Biggest Game. It's more of an unofficial holiday in USA than anything. Enjoy the game and watch it for the reasons non-sports fans watch the game. The train wreck halftime show and THE COMMERICALS!!! GO PATS!! FINISH THE PERFECT SEASON!!

dare i say BRETT FAVRE = CHOKE ARTIST not really but just messing with the Pack fans in here.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS VS NEW YORK GIANTS

Article Drew makes a lot of good points in this article. For those that say the Michigan economy is the reason why the wings are not selling, just need to look at the Tigers and how well they are selling their season tickets. The Wings definately need to invest in a new arena as well as lower ticket prices.

So would I but Gohlston is a top 10 pick. Lions are picking 15. Goholston will not be there when the lions make their pick. I am intrigued with the trading up to grab Stewart. Stewart is going to be a stud in the NFL.
-
I am interested & I know some others are. Hey Matt, do we have enough people interested for a LGW Fantasy Baseball league this year?

Article Found this on Yahoo. Great read. Hard to believe that he was blind in his right eye and still was determined enough to play in the NHL. Hopefully the NHL doesn't ignore this great story and honor him this weekend at the Rangers-Bruins game.
