I am along the same lines. Hockey and Football are my favorite sports but I rarely watch anyone but the Wings when it comes to hockey. Football is different tho.

I think the NHL should have promoted this game after the All Star break. Make it like Feb 9-10, a week after the super bowl where the only thing going on is the NFL Pro Bowl, NBA and College Basketball. They really didn't need to have it on this date.

always have, always will.

anyone see Favre celebrating a touchdown with the ref? SO THAT'S WHY THE PACKERS HAVE BEEN GOOD THIS YEAR!!!

Missed one important step. Ford: Sell team to Ilitch, then you can Fire Millen and go along your plan.

While I did not go to the school, I rooted for the Marine City football team because of my brother playing for them. I quickly developed an appreciation for them even after my brother's playing days are done. Today marks a huge day of accomplishment for the program as today's victory sends them to Ford Field to play in next Friday's finals against Detroit Country Day. Way to go Mariners and I will be rooting for you at home watching on tv friday night. I wish I could go but work reasons have prevented otherwise. GO MARINERS!!

can someone tell me why Seattle cannot bust in and crash this "Green Bay-Dallas" party. Seattle has been one of the hottest teams of late and has loads of playoff experience. Seahawks have been a much better team than they were when they lost 21-0 to the Steelers. They had injuries and werent able to run the ball, but now it looks like they are firing on all cylinders. I am not saying they are going to win in Lambeau, but you cant be surprised if the game is a tight battle. What do to the Pack fans in here think about Seattle? Contender or Pretender??

I am 0 for 2 as well, losing my 2 & 5 pt prediction. Hopefully some of these predictions will eventually be right.
-
so do the Patriots lose to Miami, NY Giants, or Green Bay?? Brett Favre does not win in Dallas, regular season or playoff. 0-9 I believe is his record.
-
I don't know much about either team enough to risk a lot of points. I went with Navy because I always like the military schools. Didn't even know Utah was riding a 7 game bowl winning streak. Glad you decided to join the league. Gonna be lots of fun down the stretch.
-
I did a college football bowl pick'em and picked Navy to win. Wasn't that confident in the game so I only risked 2 pts. The college football bowl pick'em game is adding some excitement to some of these meaningless games. Are you in my league?

who is HOMSTROM?? I heard of HOLMSTROM, but not HOMSTROM.

That is why I said that Vikes and Chargers can make some noise in these playoffs. They are a hot team and can win a wild card game and then contest with a divisonal game. No way would I take the Vikes agianst the Pack regardless of weather, but all I am saying is it could happen. Jags are a very dangerous team in the AFC but their defense has been better and if you force them to pass, you gotta get shot against them. Ultimately like I said originally it will come down to New England's to lose in the AFC. No one is going to defeat the Pats but themselves. They have at least played the tougher teams in the NFL and came away with Ws. One can argue that Green Bay hasnt played anyone this year, aside from the Dallas game in which the Cowboys dominated the Pack with Favre in the game. Sure the Packers dominated the game with Rodgers, but thats because the Cowboys were not expecting or gameplanning for Rodgers to play in the game. They did the worst thing they could have done in that game and injury Favre. I would be shocked if Favre were to get yanked in favor of Rodgers in the possible NFC Championship game. Only way you could get Favre outta that game would be to literally kill him.
-
Peterson was injured in that game against the Pack. The weather was perfect that day. Green Bay passed for over 350 yards at home. There was no one the Vikes could even keep up with the Pack that day. Same thing will happen if the weather is great. If its terrible tho, the game could be a low scoring slugfest like NE-Jets, Pitt-Miami. Bottom line is weather can limit passing attack more than a cover 2 defense. Green Bay benefits more from good weather than Minnesota. While the Pats were not at the best against the Eagles and Ravens, they still found a way to win those games. That is the mark of a truly great team and will be needed upon come playoff time. Bill Belichik hands downs has more playoff success than any coach in the NFL today and that is unmeasurable come playoff time. Until Manning can prove to me that he can win in Foxboro, I am taking the Pats. Indy isn't even the same team since Harrison has been injuried and the Colts need him back badly. As far as the Chargers-Jags game, LT has been one of the hottest running backs in the NFL in the past month. LT will be the difference maker in that game and I am going with the Chargers running away with it. Jags have a better shot against Pittsburgh if they want to advance to the divisonal round.
-
The Colts have never beaten the Pats in the playoffs at Foxboro. You factor the weather as the reason why the Pats will lose in the playoffs but don't do the same with your Pack?? I don't get it. If the weather is crappy in Green Bay, it's not a stretch to see a Vikings team come in and run the ball all over the Pack. No one wants to play the Vikes in the NFC & the Jags in the AFC, especially if the weather limits the passing in the game. The Jags probably wont even make it to the divisonal round because they will probably play San Diego in the wild card. The second part of your whole New England debate that you seem to be forgetting two things. Tom Brady and Bill Belichik. Since those two have been together, they have been nearly unstoppable in the playoffs (super bowls included) despite having weaknesses like a running game. The Pats will be a very tough team to knock out in the playoffs.
-
can we drop two players from that team? Legace in favor of Ozzie obviously and Boyd for Zetterberg. Now that would be a team.

as the Who said in one of their hits...The Kids Are Alright!!

my post was in reply of MacK_Attack saying their was only 1 college football game. I seriously doubt that you will have a large following of sports fans around Michigan that are interested in pittsburgh/buffalo while the Michigan-Florida football game is being played. They should have made it another date if they wanted to catch the causal sports fan.
-
just had my first photoshop war of the season with my good friend who lives in st. louis and is a blues fan. I am so ready for this game tonight.
-
4 college football bowl games are in progress during the pittsburgh/buffalo game.

Good comparison. Look at Chelios more closely tho. Most Red Wings fans hated him with a passion before he came to Detroit. Suddenly, he became the best thing since sliced bread on an already great team. This is a perfect situation that proves that you can hate the guy because divison or in-state rivals occur, but once you have him on your team...all is forgiven. If Favre joined the Lions, he would be a young man to Detroit fans and age rapidly to Pack fans.
