we were talking about non-conference schedules, not conference schedules. I originally stated that msu had a tougher non-conference schedule, albeit slightly. You disagreed and I just provided the facts that support my claim. Oh and CMU would probably beat a lot of Big Ten teams this year..they are for real.
-
So would every team in the Big Ten.
-
No the bigger win for the program was against Michigan. 2 years in a row and counting.
-
not talking about Montana State. Lets look at the teams. Both teams play Western Michigan at home Montana State and Delaware State---push Notre Dame: MSU played at ND, Michigan played at home----advantage MSU Eastern Michigan vs Central Michigan at home--advantage MSU I am not talking about the game outcome but just the schedule and how MSU had a tougher non-conference schedule, albeit slightly.

Game shouldnt even be counted as a win. At least MSU scheduled tougher non-conference games..albeit slightly. Guess the days of scheduling tough non-conference teams are gone. Makes me respect teams like USC who scheduled road games to Ohio State and Notre Dame this year. Iowa is vunerable. They are a good team but someone is gonna knock an L in their column. Might as well be the spartans. MSU is better on all positions except for the line. That is gonna be the real true test. Its gonna be close but the green and white are gonna sneak out a win.

btw way to go buckeyes, opening the door to everyone else in the Big Ten Title hunt.
-
Ingram won the Doak Walker award yesterday, rushing for 246 yards. He is only a sophmore but he could go pro and be a top 10 draft pick right now.
-
Delaware State not Delaware. Michigan couldn't beat Delaware. Nice win for MSU as the green and white keep rollin'. Sets up a huge game next saturday against Iowa. Michigan State runs the table and they would win at least a share of the Big Ten title with the Buckeyes. Not too shabby for a team just a few weeks ago was told they can't beat a Divison 1-A team.
-
weird seeing both of your teams get swept out of the playoffs.
-
Come on. Minor doesnt even lead the Wolverines in rushing. I would pick Jacquizz Rodgers, Mark Ingram...hell John Clay from Wisconsin over Minor.

finally able to back online (modem problems). I really think looking back when the season is done, the Michigan game is where MSU turned their season around. I really think MSU is on the inside track to make it to Pasadena. They only have 1 conference loss so far to wisconsin. They only have 2 road game left on their schedule.(minnesota and purdue). They have Iowa coming up at home in 2 weeks. They don't play OSU this season. If the spartans run the table, they will at least get a tie for the big ten title with an buckeyes loss. The next 3 weeks will be huge as they need to not overlook Northwestern, beat a good Iowa team and then win at minnesota. They do that and the rose bowl talk will begin. Glenn Winston's injury last game hurt. The running backs keep getting better and better as the season rolls along and Winston was taking the biggest leaps. Now that he is out for the season, who will handle the load. Caper and Ray need to step it up more. As far as Michigan goes, its gonna be rough the rest of the way. The nice thing is you got 3 more games you should win coming up. Delaware state, Illinois, and Purdue. 7 wins is enough and who knows..maybe Michigan will play the in Pizza Pizza Bowl at ford field this bowl season. I still have this gut feeling that Rich Rod will pull off an amazing coaching job and win a game that Michigan has no business winning like Ohio State.

Michigan vs Iowa this weekened. I think one of these teams is a contender while the other is a pretender. Sorry but I think it will be a while before Michigan gets a conferene win. MSU vs Illinois. Illinois is by far the biggest disappointment of the big ten this year. Hopefully MSU can take advantage of their woes and make their record back to even. These are the scary games for me, coming off a big win...the spartans have a history of letdowns. MSU has only one road game left after saturday so MSU still can make a run at the big ten title.

Fiagro was played because the previous monday game was rained out. It was not his spot, it was Porcellos. Who else do you want in that slot. Verlander, Jackson, Bonine, and Robertson already had their slot. Only one you can agrue with would maybe be Galarraga.

I lead most of the year last season, missed one week and it cost me the title. I think i deserve to be on the short list. And yes I am very shocked to see North Guy not playing this year so far.
-
I doubt it. Leyland had probably one of his best coaching jobs this season. DD could be out tho. Something is missing with this team. Gotta find the missing piece.
-
Quick question: Who makes more money?? Magglio Ordonez or Albert Pujols?? Who would you rather have on your team?? The whole mags mess goes on Illitch. The rest are just bad deals.
-
If Dombrowski remains as the GM. Lot of money in this ballclub with zero playoff games to show for it since 2006. Lot of dead money tied into players not even on the roster.
-
I would have brought a starter in...even Verlander for an inning. Jackson would have pitched today so I would bring in anyone else to beginning the bottom of the 12th to relieve rodney.

This was SI's cover 2.5 weeks ago.
