But when you entered the season and saw the schedule, an undefeated or 1 loss team was a strong possibility. You can't serious tell me you saw the appy state loss miles away. I am also making the huge assumption that Michigan beats Ohio State in a few weeks. If Michigan loses that game against the Buckeyes, am I making a fair assumption that this season was a failure?
-
If all of those things happen, it SHOULD be a successful season. But will it be? With all that has happened and everything leading up to all the seniors that you have seen grown up before your eyes. One Michigan fan that I know after last season said "with everyone coming back, anything short of a National Championship is a failure". Will it be tho. Thats my point. No need to convince me of this being a successful season or not. Just asking for a yes or no answer.

..and we will laugh when the Spartans are in the NCAA college basketball tournament and the Wolverines are in the NIT. -
Green Bay 2nd half will all depend on if they can run the ball effective enough to open up the deep stuff. I just think with the Packers luck so far, its gonna run out if they cannot develop the running game. Oh and keep it up with Greg Jennings...I have him on my fantasy football team.

The point I make is that assuming Michigan runs the table and wins the big ten, goes to the rose bowl.....what are people going to remember about the 2007 Michigan Wolverines? The embarassment to Appy State is what they are going to remember. What they SHOULD remember is that this team, down 0-2, rallied around their seniors, picked themselves off the mat, and played as tough as any michigan team i have seen in years. Do not get me wrong. Carr and his staff get all the credit in the world in turning this around, but years from now...what are they going to remember? Will this season be a success despite the loss to appy state?

Can't wait to see if the rest of your predictions will be correct.

drink the kool-aid like everyone else. Rod Marinelli is a genius *sip* Matt Millen is a God *another sip* Lions are going to the playoffs *Bigger sip*

It's an inferior complex with football. Spartans lose a lot more games than Wolverines do. We are sadly used to it.
-
The Lions ARE NOT who we thought they were. This is insane.

I have an early morning to all you Michigan fans out there. If Michigan wins the next two games and goes to the Rose Bowl, is this season a success? Please tell me why or why not. My opinion is NO. This team would have left its mark not in the way it won or on winning the big ten and going undefeated like some michigan teams have in the past, but by losing to Appy State. That loss will always be associated with this team.

Thank you. This is somehow lost in this thread. RedWingsFever mentioned that the sparties loss to GV state is bigger than Michigan's loss to App State. It seems like no one can provide a viable reason why that is so, if you believe RedWingsFever. -

Yes but the Buckeye fans can still bring it and they have brought it more than State fans have. Michigan is no doubt superior in football than State, probabably always will be too. The loss against Appy State was talked about on all NATIONAL media for days and weeks, probably will always be talked about too. You cannot tell me that an EXHIBITION loss against GV State will hold the same weight. -
I wonder on how many of the weasels will have this picture posted as their wallpaper in the next few days. Nice catch and good picture. It will haunt me until next year.

ok fact check time #1 It was an exhibiton #2 Appy State won back-to-back championships in the I-AA (subdivison) #3 It was an exhibition #4 GV State plays St. Joe's and they are apart of the Divison I. Look at the schedule next time. #5 It was an exhibition #6 This was supposed to be the year that Michigan was going to not only dominate the Big Ten but contest for the National Championship. Michigan State is going to contest for the big ten title this year in hoops, but if you think they are in the top 4 of NCAA basetball teams, you are crazy. Michigan WAS a top 4 college football team entering the season. #7 It was an exhibition #8 It was basketball. Stranger things have happened. How many freakin upsets happen in the tournament WHEN it counts. #9 It was an exhibition #10 You are a Michigan fan who had their face in the mud with embarassment with the Michigan loss to Appy State that you are reaching for anything and going AH HA!! #11 IT WAS AN EXHIBITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
same ol' story for this season for Michigan State. Unable to finish games.

but no way is that trade equal to kobe's value. Lakers have to either sadly accept that deal or just surround Kobe with talent. If they plan on keeping Kobe, surround him with talent like Jason Kidd, even if that means giving up Bynum who hasn't shown nothing anyway.

in the nba, that is a long time.

as a spartan fan, I am glad this happened. Izzo will use this as motivation. Plus this game was an exhibition game and doesn't count so it will have zero impact in college hoops during the season. Make no mistakes, spartans will be ready. -
Toledo makes an offer for A-Rod
-
true. I can see a team like the yankees or even mets getting involved in a deal like that.
-
BTW, what does everyone thing of the trade the Lakers-Bulls-Kings might make involving Kobe. Bulls get Kobe Kings get Ben Gordon, PJ Brown Lakers get Ron Artest, Ben Wallace I think this is the worst trade ever. Lakers losing Kobe and only getting Artest and Big Ben back ..pathetic.
-
what does everyone think about the Twins unloading talent this offseason? Torrii Hunter is a free agent, Johan Santana is on the last year of his contract & might be traded. I don't see the Tigers getting involved in either one, even tho I would love to have Santana here.

Cavs and Heat are not as good as they used to be. While all the other Eastern Conference teams were getting better(including the Pistons), the cavs just sat there.

A friend of mine got in this discussion the other day about which NHL players will have their jersey eventually retired by an NHL team. Immediately I thought of Lidstrom in Detroit, Sakic in Colorado, Modano in Dallas, Sundin in Toronto, but I have to be missing some more players. Would the Wings retire Chelios's number? Would Chicago? Topic open for discussion.

He will get off scott free just like Bush. Its the future Trojan players that will suffer.
