both of the goalies are on my fantasy hockey team so here is to a low scoring game.

San Diego is not the place to be, with all the wildfires going on.
-
Mike Williams, yes....Charles Rogers, no. Rogers had just as much buzz around him as Megatron. Difference is if Calvin can keep this up thru the year. If he can, year 2 should be amazing.

First off, Boston wanted that series more than Cleveland. That was obivous the moment the Sox's back was to the wall. As far as more likeable, not sure about that. Red Sox Nation is huge. Plus this is baseball, not football. Everyone can spend whatever they want to spend, but as we have seen with the New York teams, money doesn't equal championships. Colorado is a better story having a smaller payroll and more of a "team" than egos. Red Sox are the better team then the Rockies tho. They have more talent and have the homefield advantage, plus the Rockies long layoff might cost them. Sox should take this series.

Anyone else feel that Illinois blew that game rather than Michigan won? Two plays stand out for me to be the key moments of the game that led to the Michigan escape. The roughing the punter call towards the end of the 2nd quarter. While the call was ligit, you don't do that if your Illinois. They had Michigan on the ropes and to no surprise after the call, Michigan marched down the field. Game would have been totally different had that not happen. Next is the obvious play, the muffed punt return. Game tied at that point and you turnover the ball, your just asking for a loss. Make no mistake, a win is a win. I just feel that Illinois blew this game.

damn. First Hart is out with injury, then Henne gets hurt, and now Manningham leaves the game. What the hell is going on with Michigan lately?

MSU will score a ton of pts against the Buckeyes. I worry tho if they can stop anything. If Saint-Dic doesn't have a huge game, gonna be very hard for the Spartans to win.
-
now that the bulls are out. I really think the big question mark in the BCS rankings will be which 1-loss team is better? Oklahoma or LSU? I think we will have one undefeated team (ohio state or boston college) and then one of those 2 mentioned 1-loss teams in the game.

It's a shame to. The Rockies are one of the best feel good stories in all of sports, not just baseball. This was a team that was left for dead. 4.5 games out with 9 to play. 2 games out with 2 to play. They were down in the bottom of the 9th in the play-in game against the Padres. To go on the streak that they did is mind blogging. I am happy to see the Rockies in the world series. If they win it, they will have deserved it. As far as the Indians. Not many franchises in baseball have suffered as much as the Indians. It has been years since a championship and several good teams in the last 10-15 years. If they should win the championship, they will have earned it. I think its a great postseason this year. Just too bad no one is watching it. They do that so they can advertise the hell of it with a "Don't miss the world series, starting Oct 24th" I agree and think its stupid. Just prolongs the playoffs and hurts teams on winning streaks.

I have directv. I get games every now and then on Fox Sports Detroit. I am hoping that the Big Ten Network will cover some games this year.
-
No I just think that South Florida has beaten better opponents than the Buckeyes. Hell Boston College has beaten better teams that the Buckeyes...but because they are the Buckeyes & #3 with #2 and #1 both lost, they are #1.
-
Congrats to the Rockies. Anyone else thing with the long time they have off before the world series is very similar to last year's world series?? I think the winner of the Red Sox-Indians series will beat the Rockies.
-
same here. I will watch a few games during the season...mostly Michigan-Michigan State games..and the frozen four and thats it. Maybe lack of TV coverage factors.
-
do you really want #1 right now. Every team that has worn the #1 target has lost. I just like when the small schools that you never heard of do well. Also MSU is gonna score and score often on the Buckeyes. Problem is that the Spartans can't stop anyone.
-
oh come on. whatz wrong with a South Florida-Hawaii National Championship game. Maybe then would we finally get a college football playoff system.
-
guess its time for me to drop him from my fantasy hockey team.
-
South Florida deserves to be #1 right now. But I would take the pac 10 and sec champ over them in a bowl game. Also, USF would take out Indiana not to mention USF did beat Auburn.
-
More reason why South Florida should be #1.
-
more people know where to find TBS on their remote than VS. FOX owns rights for the ALCS, TBS owns rights for the NLCS.
-
True. But when you look right now at who played whom and which team deserves to be #1....South Florida wins hands down. Ohio State is number one because they are Oh, er THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY. You said it best a few posts ago...the real season for the Buckeyes begin now.
-
Anyone else think that the Buckeyes are completely overrated? I mean, who have they beat?? When Washington is your biggest win, you are in trouble. Buckeyes have a 50/50 shot IMO of either falling apart completely or running the table and winning the rest of their games. #1 team should be South Florida.
-
One problem, Michigan is not that good. Highly overrated.
-
I figured. Granted it will still be a good game, a chance for Michigan to ruin the Buckeyes season at least, but it won't be as big as last year's game. Last year it was for the National Championship, just everyone forgot to tell Florida.
-
what an incredible finish to the LSU-Kentucky game. So glad to see a Kentucky school show us that anything can happen in just a regular conference game. No way. Michigan lost their National Championship chances. Game maybe for the Big Ten Title tho.
-
I agree. If they can get by Rutgers, why can't they claim a shot at the national title.
