    2007 College Football Season Talk

Now that this season is halfway over, I've been looking at the schedule and trying to figure out which teams can go undefeated and advance to the National Championship game. Obviously if LSU, Ohio St. and California go undefeated..they will be in, but can they go undefeated?? And who would they lose to? Let's begin the discussion. LSU: i don't see this team losing Ohio State: Game against Michigan might save Carr's job. Cali: games against USC and Arizona State..this team will lose one of those two BC: at Va Tech is gonna be tough South Florida: this team should go undefeated. Curious to know if it will be enough to be in the NC game. Missouri: this weekend against Oklahoma Ari State: 3 games against Cali, USC, and Oregon. 1-2 loss team. Cincy: USF and West Va. will lose 1 of these 2 games. Hawaii: Worst schedule ever!! They are this year's Boise State. Kansas: they get by colorado and texas am, they should be undefeated until mizzou. How the hell can you be in the big 12 and not play Oklahoma or Texas. Right now, I see LSU-USF in a very weird title game. Those are the only undefeated teams that I can see in the title game. How pissed would Michigan or Buckeye fans be if Hawaii makes it to the title game undefeated while an Ohio State team with say 1 loss or a Michigan team with 2 losses total get denied.

The first 3 were a no-brainer to me. With Elway, Unitas, and Montana...you have the complete QB. They were the clear leader and face of the franchise as well as performing when it counted the most. The more I thought about these attributes, I thought. Farve belongs just as much in that list if not higher than he should be. While I haven't been a huge Farve fan, I can understand the love and pure excitement you must be seeing, watching this guy dominate like he is this year. Kinda reminds me of watching Yzerman in the 2001-2002 cup run. You knew the guy was past his prime but you still couldn't help but get chills just watching this guy play. Here is to the Pack making another divison title run and if the Pack should make the playoffs with the Lions not, I will root for Farve to win another Super Bowl.
  5. no. The lions have a long history in the NFL, Jags don't. There are a lot of people who are Lions fans now because of Barry Sanders. They grew up watching him.

Have fun with the postseason. Rockies are a really good story this year in baseball. I will be rooting for them to make it far in these playoffs.

I agree. There wouldn't be classic meltdowns like this Video
  10. 2 articles in this week's free press regarding Barry Bonds. Posted both articles on the 2007 baseball season thread.

for those that wanted a "Barry Bonds to Detroit" article. I didn't find the one I was looking for several weeks ago but 2 came out this week. Sharp says Tigers should add Bonds for 08 Leyland says don't count on Bonds for 08 Back to the subject of instant replay, let's assume that they have the replay option. Would they have even overturned the calls on the field? Both plays are debatable and IMO wouldn't be overturned anyway.

    ESPN strikes again

chelios is playing for the wings AND the hawks this year. Should be interesting when these two play.

    2007 Baseball Season

Baseball just like the other sports have judgemental calls like balls and strikes. If you implement an instant replay, are you reviewing those type of plays. Because if you are, forget about it. What exactly is reviewable and if the Padres had the choice, would anything be different. The own Padres manager didn't argue nor say that was a bulls*** call, even after its been on Sportscenter 15 million times. The delayed call was because to see if Barrett had the ball. From the angle they had on tv, I first thought he was out due to Barrett having the ball but after it rolled out, then the ump made the call. Check the video again. If Barrett had the ball, Holiday was out. And my whole "get used to it" line at the end was to imply that the postseason is filled with amazing games and an emotional roller coaster. This is why I love the MLB playoffs, even if my team is not in it.
  14. ...and stays healthy. Their defense is reminding me of their Super Bowl defense they had a few years ago.
  15. No joke. Detroit is one of 2 teams that he wants to go to.

    2007 Baseball Season

I disagree. Instant replay doesn't needs to be a part of baseball. The game is long enough and if you challenge the call and you're wrong...what do you lose? Are you ok with an out given if you challenge incorrectly?? The game wouldn't have changed last night either. The delayed call on the umpire was to make sure the catcher did not have the ball. The call was correct. Notice that the Padres didn't even challenge the call, or the manager didn't argue with the ump. The only call in the game that would have been close to changing waz the home run in the 7th that was ruled a double. The game was amazing tho. So many players were used in that game that the Rockies had no choice but to go to that guy. The Padres on the other hand brought out their closer, the best closer in baseball and the Rockies didn't sweat it. Rockies were a better team and have a better shot at making it further in the playoffs. Playoffs are amazing. Get used to it.
  17. The Bucs have played very good defense during their first 4 weeks and have beaten their opponents by 13 or more last 3 weeks. Of course Tampa Bay plays Indy this week so that should bring them back down to reality in time for the Lions game.
  18. The Bucs are 3-1, very underrated team so far. Garcia could crave us like a turkey in the same way Joey did last thanksgiving. Going 2-0 against any team in this divison is hard, regardless of what teams are playing whom. That being said, I think the lions will win the skins and broncos game. Denver game is gonna be close tho, they are running the ball well with Travis Henry, just not scoring any touchdowns with him. I should know. I have Henry on my fantasy football team.
  19. Lions can still show themselves and lose the next 12 and no one would be surprised. You gotta drink the kool aid in moderation right now. This whole thing reminds me of the 2006 Tigers season, when you first saw the tigers start winning. "Could this be real? naw...give it another few weeks."

    2007 Green Bay Packers Thread

Why not? Peyton is 10 times the better QB than Brady. Brady is a good QB in a good system. If you take and put Peyton in the Pats system, he would smash his own records. Indy was nobody when they drafted Peyton. He started that team from the ground up. Pats were already a good team with Bledsoe, before Brady took over. Peyton is in the top 5 of all time. I didn't say right now., you did.
  21. Bigger than Appy State beating Michigan?? sorry Michigan fans. I couldn't help myself.

The 100 Most Powerful People in Sports

Why shouldnt ESPN get involved? They are the sports leading tv channel, whether or not the NHL is involved. NHL has run their league to the ground and thats why they are not high on the list. Sidney Crosby is on the list as he should be. He IS the face of the league.
