    2007 Baseball Season

to me, Minnesota just finds a way every year to be competitive. They won the divison last year and had the AL MVP on their team still. Oh and probably have the best pitcher in the game in Johan Santana. Yes Liranio hurts them as well as Radke but these are the twins. They WILL find a way.

    Dre Bly for Tatum Bell?

Why would it put the kaibosh on drafting Joe Thomas?? George Foster is a good OT but we could use another OT as well. Draft Thomas and move Backus to Guard where he really should be at.

    2007 Baseball Season

Thanks for the feedback guys. Never played the show series but going to give it a try this year since most people on here agree that it is better than the 2k series. I am excited just to see the tigers on tv monday against the yankees in spring training. I have NEVER been that excited to see a spring training game ever. I agree. The AL Central looks tough. Maybe I am being realistic but I have made my predictions for the AL Central this year. #1 Chicago #2 Minnesota #3 Detroit #4 Cleveland #5 Kansas City I know this means that the Tigers wont make the playoffs but I just dont see how some players that had career years last year can match it again this season. That being said, I am still rooting for the Tigers to win it all and will definately be going to a handful of games this year.

    NCAA Basketball Season

oh please. MSU lost the game on poor shooting down the stretch and turnovers. Michigan deserved to win. Congrats to Michigan and their NIT berth.

    RWHQ Playoff Party?

I know. Pre-playoff party maybe better. I need at least 3 weeks advance notice to request a day off from work and hard to schedule that in the playoffs.

I am actually more nervous about a young team with a big man like Orlando or Toronto then Miami and Cleveland.

My personal best was Carl Edwards crashing into Junior after he spun him out in the Busch race at Michigan last year. That was hiliarous.

    2007 Baseball Season

Do you know which game your going to get? I used to get the ea sports games but now since they have a college game...gotta get something new. I am leaning towards getting the MLB 2K7 game. I got the 2K6 game last year and still play it. That game is awesome.

    Daytona 500

THATS WHAT I DO!! I am a casual NASCAR fan. I know what is going on and who wins the races...but only a few races will I actually watch start to finish (daytona being one of them). Main reason why....long season. Hard to believe that this season will end up right before thanksgiving and have a race most sundays and a few saturdays. I don't really have a favorite driver but I must say I was pulling for Tony Stewart to win last sunday. Anyone but Jeff Gordon!! lol

    NCAA Basketball Season

Great win by the Spartans last night. I think I cheered the most I have for a MSU game in a long time. I think it is mostly because this team doesn't have the same high expectations that previous MSU teams have had. That win should all but seal up a NCAA bid for MSU and if they match up right....there is no reason for them to not make a small run in the tourny. Maybe a sweet 16 run.

    Super Bowl XLI

This is going to be a hard one to predict. The NFC is wide open while the AFC really has the 4 big teams.

    Someone please...

I agree. Jack Morris had one of the greatest pitching performances IMO in the 1991 World Series game 7, 10 inning shutout....as well as having a steller pitching career both in Detroit but in Minnesota, in Toronto

Detroit Lions, NFL 2006 Season Thread

Would you want Brady Quinn if he came to #2. He certainly is deserving of being #2 pick overall over Thomas. I am not sure who the Lions would trade down with and why. Maybe if Calvin Johnson does well in the combine, his stock will go up and a team that needs just 1 good WR will make the move to trade for the Lions pick. A team like the Eagles for example that maybe are 1 good WR away from the super bowl.

Let's compare Basics Ripken: 21 seasons, 3001 games, 3184 hits, 1647 runs .276 avg., 431 HRs, 1695 RBIs. Tram: 20 seasons, 2293 games, 2365 hits, 1231 runs, .285 avg, 185 HRs, 1003 RBIs Awards Ripken: 1982 ROY, 2 Gold gloves, 2 AL MVPs, 2 All Star MVPs, 16 all star game appreances Tram: 4 gold gloves, 6 all star game appreances, 1 WS MVP best known for Ripken: 2632 consecutive game appreance Tram: paired with Whitaker for best double play combo ever. While I dont see why both cant be in the HOF, you certainly cant discredit Ripken and say that he shouldnt be there because Tram isnt there, that cal didnt do anything. Ripken put up HOF numbers throughout his career and is an Icon in baseball. Tram was a good player, but not a baseball icon.

    College Football

This stat is misleading. If Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State scheduled Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Mississippi State and Alabama....the Big Ten would go 4-0 just as if the SEC had Florida, LSU, Auburn and Arkansas play Indiana, Illinois, MSU, and Northwestern. Lets look at the games. One Regular Season game Michigan (3rd in Big ten) beat Vanderbilt (11th in SEC) One uneven bowl game Penn State (4th in Big Ten) beat Tennessee (5th in SEC) The only even games earn a split. Wisconsin (2nd in Big Ten) beat Arkansas (2nd in SEC) Florida (1st in Big Ten) beat Ohio State (1st in Big Ten) Wisconsin also barely beat Arkansas while Florida spanked OSU.

    College Football

come on eva. While I admire your passion but your wayyyy toooo biased here. I am biased towards MSU but let me put that aside for a second and try to figure this out from an outsiders point of view. To say that Carr and Tressel got outcoached is BULLS**T. It is an excuse to cover up what is really wrong. Several things add up to example the recent trend of Michigan and Ohio State. #1 The Big Ten is overrated. I am guilty of this so I include myself but people that have ties to Big Ten schools feel like their conference is the only one that matters....and why shouldnt they. The Michigan-Ohio State game is hyped up so much that after winning that game, you SHOULD feel like you won a championship. Anything after that game, is a letdown. IE, Michigan got fired up to play OSU but letdown last year against Nebraska...their next opponent. Beating Michigan was more important to OSU then to win the National Championship. The reason why Wisconsin and PSU can win their bowl games is because there is no pressure. They can sneak up on these teams and lets face it, after Arkansas played all those big games, can they really get up to play the badgers. #2 Because the Michigan-Ohio State game is so huge, that BOTH these teams act scared throughout the season. They are nervous in making sure they win all their winnable games against Indiana and Illinois as well making sure they dont show their cards to scouts in order to save their best for The Game. #3 Big Ten is not battle-tested. When Michigan and OSU runs the table in the Big Ten, they are challenged in a game what 2, 3 times before that game....thats it. Florida has to fight week in and week out just to come out of the SEC. #4 More teams, more National Championship teams. Lets list the teams that REALISTICALLY think that they can win the National Championship in these two conferences. BIG TEN: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin. SEC: Florida, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Arkansas, Alabama. #5 51 days. Michigan and Ohio State is played so far back that it hurts the Big Ten in that the voters dont see these teams for a while. They have to think back in "what does Michigan look like again" when it comes time to make the final vote for the BCS. The Big Ten needs to grab a 12th team and have a conference championship game. You will increase revenue and diminish the UM-OSU game but you will have better teams for bowl games and more National Championships as a result. The conference is not the problem. #6 Tressel and Carr. Both are great coaches. There is nothing wrong with their style, they are just behind the times in a way. They are stubborn to make changes and when you dont adapt to changes, you make it very easy for other teams. Florida and USC won their games with ease because they could predict what Carr and Tressel would do. My advice to Michigan and Ohio State fans is let it go. Time to move on and look for the 2007 season. Michigan and Ohio State keep recruiting great talent and hopefully making a few minor tweaks in the system will help them finish the season with a win and not a devestating loss.

    College Football

I normally dont agree with you but in this case I have to. The Big Ten was WAYYYYYYYY overrated this year and their performance in the BCS bowl games proves it. Urban Meyer is a helluva coach and going to be around in Florida for a while, unless he decides to be Nick Saban. Wow. I really doubt Michigan will be ranked that high. #1 Florida #2 Ohio State #3 LSU #4 USC #5 Louisville #6 Boise State #7 Wisconsin #8 Michigan #9 Auburn #10 West Virginia Wisconsin will be ranked higher than Michigan due to the fact that Wisconsin only lost 1 game and won their bowl game. #

34-14 Florida at the half. Tressel better have a good speech at halftime.

Yup. Florida has the ball now. Damn the Gators are playing sick tonight. OSU better play defense or this will be a long night for the buckeyes.

    Super Bowl XLI

Anyone else think that the NFC representative in the Super Bowl is going to be the winner of the Philadelphia and New Orleans game?
  23. timothy1997

    College Football

It wasn't a major bowl game. The Alamo Bowl is a game in which you reflect back on and think "remember when those schools were good". Hence this year, Texas vs Iowa. If I just take a moment and think back....yup...remember when Texas was good and had Vince Young.....damn it feels like forever.

I know. I am actually pulling for the Knicks!! The bench is what got Pistons the title and the bench is why the Pistons have lost the title in the last couple of seasons.

    College Football

Even if there was a slightest chance of a split in a National Championship, dont you think Michigan would have prepared better. Carr gets outcoached a lot and THATS THE PROBLEM. Carr needs to win a Big Ten Title, maybe even a National Championship next year to keep his job secure.
