Very good point. Only problem I have if that scenario plays out is that USC would have won its conference will Michigan didn't win anything. Plus if Florida or Arkansas end up with 1 loss at the end, how can you deny them after they won a very difficult SEC in favor of a 2nd place conference team.

Latest BCS poll

I must say. I am impressed with the spartans team so far this year. No real big star yet playing like a team. This team is going to surprise a bunch of people this year. I also like their incoming class for next year. Kalin Lucas reminds people of a Chris Paul. Durrell Summers is similar to Jason Richardson and Chris Allen is a solid shooter. Solid committments for MSU.

you still watch this team?? I have given up on them. I am "Lions fan on strike".
-
Did you factor in LSU and Florida?? Arkansas is getting a huge push if they can win both those games. That and Arkansas would have won its conference, something Michigan didn't do.
-
How exactly is this a soft schedule. 4 teams in the top ten, 5 teams in the top 15. Plus Arkansas would have won the SEC championship. Sat, Sep 2 (6) USC L 14-50 -- Sat, Sep 9 Utah State W 20-0 -- Sat, Sep 16 at Vanderbilt W 21-19 -- Sat, Sep 23 Alabama W 24-23 -- Sat, Oct 7 at (2) Auburn W 27-10 -- Sat, Oct 14 Southeast Missouri State W 63-7 -- Sat, Oct 21 Mississippi W 38-3 -- Sat, Oct 28 Louisiana-Monroe W 44-10 -- Sat, Nov 4 at South Carolina W 26-20 -- Sat, Nov 11 (13) Tennessee W 31-14 -- Sat, Nov 18 at Mississippi State W 28-14 -- Fri, Nov 24 (9) LSU 2:30 pm -- SEC Championship vs Florida.

kinda cool to look back on early season predicts and see if you were right or wrong. Well, I did predict that Michigan would have a strong season. Just wrong on the number of losses.
-
here is the way I see it. ---USC has the best chances in that they just have to win one more game to clinch it. --Florida beats FSU and then Arkansas....and USC stumbles, they should be in. --Arkansas. People forget that this team beats LSU and Florida, they have every right to claim for a National Championship Game berth. --Notre Dame. They beat USC and the SEC ends in chaos, I think you have to give it to the Irish over Michigan. Notre Dame ended the year better than Michigan did. I also dont you award Michigan because they had their National Championship Game shot. People can cry all they want for a playoff system but until the BCS's contract is due, this system is in place. I think the broadcasters made a good point yesterday in that if their was a playoff, michigan and ohio state would have rested all their starters similar to what NFL teams do in the last game of the season to avoid injuries entering the second season.
-
USC wins the rest of their games, they will be in the National Championship game. If there is a rematch for Michigan....it will be Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl.
-
Good Game Michigan. Ohio State was clearly the better team today and well deserving of the victory...and in 50 days, will be well deserving of the National Championship. Congrats to the Buckeyes. Congrats to Troy Smith on winning the Heisman trophy.
-
Troy Smith owns Michigan right now. Wolverines are lucky they are only down 14 pts.

I am about as big an anti-wolverine fan out there and I am not that bad. I was only 11 when he retired so I remember most from him on the big ten ticket and his comments here and there. I remember cheering when he retired...because he was a damn good coach. Bo had something about him that no matter what he was talking about, you gave it your full attention.

same for any school really. I kept saying "if only we didnt let OSU block the field goal and take it back last year...MSU would have done better last year"
-
You're biased. OSU has more depth than Michigan. Your right, Michigan's front group is better but I personally think the key will be in how Michigan handles the versatile Troy Smith. Michigan has shown time and time again that they cannot stop a running QB. I look for Smith to have a big day and also Anthony Gonzalez as Ginn will probably see a bunch of Leon Hall. For Michigan to have a shot, I think you need to have this be a Hart vs Pittman matchup, control the clock and keep Ted Ginn and Troy Smith off the field.
-
but your inital post suggested that Michigan is going to score at will against OSU. Now you say it will the defense that wins the game for Michigan, not the offense. Last time I checked, OSU had just a dominate defense as Michigan. They allow fewer points and have twice as many INTs.
-
umm no. That would be very poor taste if that were true.
-
WOW! Make it sound like Ohio State doesn't even have a chance. Might as well not even play the game on Saturday.
-
ND is on the national spotlight every week. No other NCAA football program can claim that. let me rephrase. Since Tressel took over at OSU.
-
please! Michigan gets tons of love. Michigan is always ranked high. Florida gets love to but THEY ARE A GOOD FOOTBALL PROGRAM. The only problem Michigan has is they are behind Ohio State in the Big Ten every year. Only way to change that is to win on saturday.
-
since we got a couple more days until the game, i will throw this question out there. If OSU wins, does Troy Smith win the Heisman trophy? If OSU loses, does he lose it as well??
-
its a two part move. Sign Bonds and then trade Monroe and Bonderman for Teixeria. Sure I would love for Monroe and Bonderman to stay but they may not.

with the mlb meetings getting underway this week, look for the tigers to make a move or two. A friend of mine were discussing the options the tigers had in signing a free agent this offseason. While happy with Shef, I want them to do more. How would you guys feel about Barry Bonds playing for the Tigers? I have mixed feelings regarding this. He can still get you 25 hrs, 80 rbis in a season and is a decent left handed bat. He has ties with Jim Leyland from his days in Pittsburgh. However, the whole steroids allegations is a huge risk that I dont think the Tigers want to be surrounded with. I look at this like the Philadelphia Eagles when they signed TO to get them "over the hump". It ended up being a disaster. Curious to know what you think.

Learn something new everyday Michigan State had adopted its version of a "winged helmet" several years earlier.
-
thats where it started man. And I was a huge basketball fan growing up and loved players like Steve Smith and Shawn Respert. Heck, I even liked Glen Rice and the year that Michigan won it all in college basketball. Too bad Michigan had to cheat to be on top in the 90s, otherwise...I would have respected that team way more.

you can send me anything you want. Doesnt mean I will wear it. It probably would end up in the fireplace. For me, it's because Michigan always wins. That and both my parents are Michigan fans and I rebeled against them.
