ND has a tough trip to the west coast to end the season. While I predict ND will beat michigan, ND is not going to go to the championship game. Ohio State and West Virigina will play for the national title. Hmm lets see... Idaho Eastern Michigan @ Pittsburgh Notre Dame Illinois @ Michigan Ohio State @ Northwestern @ Indiana Purdue Minnesota @ Penn State Wins: Idaho, Eastern Michigan, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Michigan, Purdue Losses: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Northwestern, Indiana, Minnesota, Penn State Yup 6 wins. MSU always does well in the beginning but struggles when they have to play tough Big Ten teams like Indiana. I am still however prediciting that MSU will beat Michigan this year.

Which poll is this again? and why is this not in the college football thread??

Dale Davis arrested in Florida Link :nonono:

why not just move rogers to the bully when maroth comes back. That or use the 6 pitcher rotation that has been talked about.
-
its the lions. You make 3rd string on most NFL teams, you dont get to play. Not the case on the lions.

Who is out there in the NFC to contend for the super bowl slot. NY Giants? Chicago?? Tampa Bay??? Carolina???? My point is that Seattle has a better shot at returning to the Super Bowl than Pittsburgh does. The NFC has how many teams that are super bowl threats. 1, 2 teams. The AFC has several teams that are good enough to not only go to the super bowl, but win it to....ie Pittsburgh, Indy, New England, Denver. By no means am I saying that Seattle is better than Pittsburgh tho. Just that the seahawks are the best team in the NFC. AFC champs will crush the NFC champs in the super bowl this year.

I guess hasek should have been on this list.

Who will the Detroit Tigers play in the Divison Series?
timothy1997 replied to timothy1997's topic in Other Sports
If the Tigers keep the best record in the AL, they play the wild card team....unless the wild card team is in their divison. Then they would play the divison winner with the lowest record. Or what everyone else said. -
thats my point. anyway, time to change the subject. How come no one gives Seattle a shot to get back to the Super Bowl??? They really didn't lose anyone and still have the best NFL player in Shaun Alexander. With a weaker NFC, I like their chances of getting back to the super bowl than Pittsburgh.
-
and not too long ago the steelers went 6-10. The Patriots are a dynasty, not Pittsburgh.
-
The cowboys won several super bowls with emmitt smith. Willie Parker has so far only won 1 super bowl. I know this is your team and you gotta back them, but I repeat what I said earlier. The NFL has parity. The Steelers have an equal chance of going to the super bowl and missing the playoffs completely. That wasn't the case in the early 90s. You knew the cowboys were coming back and were going to be there. Two different situations.
-
so wait a minute. Are you comparing willie parker to emmitt smith?? They are nowhere close, however their situation is similiar. Both players benefit from a good offensive line.
-
Thats exactly why I didn't mention Burress or Bettis, because neither player really "kills" the team with their absence. Bettis will effect the team most in leadership. I think Randle El will have a bigger impact then you want to admit. Randle El at least made the trick play a threat by him just being on the field. You have got to be kidding me when you say that Wilson and Ward can replace that aspect. They can't. if i am a d-coordinator going against pittsburgh, I double Ward and try to stop the run with everyone else. The key player this year for the Steelers on offense isn't Ward or Parker or even Ben.....its Heath Miller. If the Steelers can use Miller in the same way they Mark Bruener or Eric Green, he can be key to opening up Ward and Parker.

cool. Time to change your avatar ARice.

the problem with acquiring dellucci is that the phillies have already traded an OF in Abreau. I don't think they will make another move.
-
I dont think we need to make that move tho. Acquiring David Dellucci would be just enough IMO
-
GREAT MOVE! Sean Casey is a good hitter, doesn't strike out that many times either. Nice pick up DD.
-
So losing Randle El has no effects on the steelers. Amazing. The Steelers beat up on a lot of weak teams last year (Houston, Tennessee, Cleveland, Green Bay, Detroit). Yes you did beat Chicago & Cincy and won in the playoffs when it counted...don't forget that if the Colts had a kicker, that game would be heading to OT. Now whether that game deserves to be heading to OT or if it was over a long time ago, is another argument. The Colts will be back this year whether you like it or not. They will miss edge but they still have a potent offense and now an all pro kicker that knows how to kick in the playoffs. The NFL is too unpredictible to predict who will win and who will not. The steelers have an equal shot at getting to the super bowl as they do to miss the playoffs completely. That is what parity means in the NFL.

true. But i still think the better QB is Josh McCown. His mobility is what impresses me the most about him. I would still say to start Jon Kitna...but midway thru the season, hand the reins over to McCown.
-
Who? The Twins??? I kid I kid. I like the Tigers chances but not calling them World Series Champions yet.
-
next thing your telling me is Jacksonville will play the Lions with Kitna as their starting QB.
