Pittsburgh didn't even win their divison last year. IMO, the AFC is wide open. I expect New England and Indy to grab the top two seeds with Pittsburgh and Denver getting the other divisons along with Miami and Cincy as wild cards. Miami makes the biggest strides in the AFC this year, however, the Pats are back. New England will be back in the Super Bowl in a rematch against Carolina.
-
nope not true. Wiki Link The wild-card team is assigned to play the division winner with the best winning percentage in one series, and the other two division winners play the other series. However, if the wild-card team and the division winner with the best record are from the same division, the wild-card team plays the division winner with the second-best record, and the remaining two division winners play. In any event, the two series winners move on to the best-of-seven ALCS.

absolutely have to agree. I would rather play the AL west champion then Boston or New York in the first round. Tigers need to win the divison but have the wild card come from Chicago and Minnesota in order for that happen.
-
I went to Eastern Michigan. :flamingmad:
-
there are 5 divison 1 teams. Florida, Florida State, Miami fla, UCF and USF

We'll see when michigan state plays at michigan. I will throw this team out there as a surprise team just so you know what to look for. Northwestern. Losing their head coach brings the team together and this team becomes the talk of the Big Ten. Look for them to be 7-1 when they play at Michigan. 8-4 this year with losses to Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, and your pick of Penn State/Wisconsin.

What the hell is up with Kenny Rogers. He is starting to piss me off and makes me think that maybe we should get another ace before the trade deadline.
-
They go to Columbus, Ohio.
-
#1 Ohio State #2 Florida #3 LSU #4 Notre Dame #5 Texas Don't be surprised if USC plays better than people expect. Its the system..not the players that make the team good. Also Oklahoma will be back this year. 1-2 loss year from that team. And I predict that Michigan will have a strong season. No Big Ten title but a solid Capital One Bowl berth. 3 loss season for the wolverines. Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan State.

I will say the same thing I say every year. THIS IS THEIR YEAR!!
-
I agree Lou on Sean Casey. Having him would make a bigger impact then having Soriano IMO....and Casey is cheaper to get. I dont think you can have both Casey and Dellucci without sending another player down to Toledo. Who would send down. Ramon Colon?? Omar Infante??
-
the tigers need a Left handed batter. It would be nice for them to have that in DY. Young hits like he can, the abreau or soriano to detroit deal is dead.
-
I am concerned about Abreau's numbers. Something is not right with the guy. Only 14 home runs since the hr debry night in which he blasted 41 at the copa. I personally would rather have Soriano than Abreau.
-
Correct me if i am wrong, but i dont remember them ever retiring a players number on opening day......that being said. I hope your scenario works out so your up here.

Yep. I was just about to post and say I really can't make it either. I was thinking that maybe we should do something on Saturday October 7th to kickoff the season. Thats the wings 2nd game of the season, road game vs pittsburgh @ 7:30pm. Not sure where the place would be...but what do you think? I think that would be a cool way to start the season off.

Where is the link. I looked at the Freep website and saw nothing. You are supposed to have a source before you post this in the general discussion forum, otherwise it should go to the Rumor Mill.
-
I vote none of the ones on your list. Lidstrom should be captain

I love this Tigers team. Every night there is another hero. Carlos Guillen's HR to win it in the 9th is classic. Yanks beat White Sox so the lead is up to 3.5 on the White Sox. This matches the biggest lead of the season. I can't wait for the White Sox series next week. ESPN cant either. ESPN will be bringing their MLB coverage to the Copa for next Wed and Thurs.
-
shouldnt we posting Eklund rumors in the Rumor Mill?? Just an idea.

Man, I can't believe I didn't see this thread until today. Not sure what my schedule is like but if I am free, I definately will be there. Lot has to do with grandpa who is in the hospital this week. Not looking that good so I am spending a lot of my free time there. Anyone have directions to get to Cheli's? Not totally fimilar with Dearborn.

how is it a trade that you have made in NHL 06, a hockey rumor? :rotflmao:
-
I actually looked it up to see when the last time it happened. 1995!! Piazza from the Dodgers caught for Hideo Nomo. Doesnt happen often tho. Link
-
close. 1985 was the year tho.
-
Kenny Rogers is the American League starting pitcher. Way to go Kenny!

No. And I bet the Bulls realize that he is not worth that much money. Yet they had to do what they had to do. Got the top free agent in the NBA this summer. Got everyone talking about the Bulls. I am sure a lot of players look at the Bulls as a team on the rise and find it intriguing to play there. Oh and they took a player from the team that won their divison last year. A wise man once said "it is not important that I succeed, but everyone else must fail".
