    MLB Season 2006 thread

cards gotta feel like what the hell just hit them. Swept by the white sox and now the tigers. St. Louis probably can't wait to play a team like the cubbies or brewers now.

with all the good teams in the ACC, you always lose a few games in the ACC too. Va Tech can easily have a letdown against FSU or Miami.

Not likely. They play Brazil next.

Why is soccer the only sport.....

wow! talk about stereotyping big time. You don't have to have snow and ice to participate in winter sports. Look at olympic bobsled for example. Why does Jamacia have a bobsled team??

    2006 FIFA World Cup

well, USA is out. Big disappointment for the Americans. They showed little or no emotion throughout the whole world cup. So many mistakes made by Bruce Arena in poor management of players. Landon Donovan and Brian McBride never showed up. ONE GOAL IN THE WORLD CUP!! oh well, I am not alone in echoing that this is why no one watches soccer in the US. Way to go USA! Set soccer back in the USA a good 8 years at least. Tell me why again the US soccer team made the cover of SI instead of the Tigers. :nonono:

Penn State and Ga Tech have proven nothing to me. They could very easily have a 7-4 just as likely as a 10-1 season. USC has the best WRs in the country with Jarrett and Steve Smith. They need a QB and running game. I think USC will be 9-2 at worst. Michigan State only plays ND tough in South Bend which is bad news bc this game is in East Lansing. I would find it hard to believe that Michigan wouldnt be undefeated, heading into that ND game and the wolverines should have a better season then last year. Bottom line. ND can get it done this year and I don't see any reason why they won't meet up with the Buckeyes in a rematch of last year's Fiesta Bowl, only in the National Championship Game this year.

    Knicks fire Larry Brown

Isiah led the pacers to the playoffs 3 straight years with a 131-115 record. Right now that sounds pretty damn good for the Knicks.

    Knicks fire Larry Brown

already posted in Pistons thread but what the hell. I am not surprised by this but I wonder how much of this was because "Starbury" didn't want to play for LB.

Detroit Pistons (& NBA) Playoff Thread

ESPN is reporting that Knicks have fired Larry Brown, Isiah Thomas will be named the new head coach. Link D Wade has how many rings?? Kobe has how many more??? Not even fair to compare the two. Strange thing about comparisions to MJ or Kobe: For all the talk, the Heat have echoed they are "15 strong". Could they just be a good "team"???

    2006 FIFA World Cup

looking forward to the early games today. despite only having 1 pt, USA still has an excellent shot at advancing. They need two things to happen and they can realisticly happen. USA needs to beat Ghana and Italy needs to beat Czech. That happens and the Americans advance. Most likely will advance and play Brazil but that can be discussed later on. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

I remember when Michigan and Michigan State were undefeated. The hype was outrageous for the game. Magnify that by 10 million and you would have the ultimate game.

I am for getting rid of the DH rule completely. By having a DH, it takes away a lot of the strategy in the late innings away.

When you go Nickel defense, doesn't the middle open up. Might do more good then bad.

    College Football

Troy Smith was on fire from the opening kickoff. In case you forgot, the first drive Smith went 5 for 6 for 59 yards and rushed 2 times, one time for a touchdown. The rest of the 1st half drives were solid except for the wells fumble. Play by Play if Michigan can't even stop Troy Smith in his Soph. and Junior season, what makes you think that Michigan is going to be able to stop Troy Smith in his Senior season. Michigan better look forward to 2007, because that is the next time they are going to be able to beat Ohio State.

that ref will never call another world cup game ever...that is how bad he called the game. with a tie, US has to hope they beat Ghana and Italy beats Czech....then the US will advance.

Notre Dame will still beat Michigan tho. Michigan State will lose to the Irish this year Blak. Game is in East Lansing this year. State only beats ND in South Bend. The Indiana loss is right on tho.

Why Do Americans Stink at Team Sports?

Explain to me how US was better in Turin olympics then they were in Salt Lake City olympics. If the sport is really growing in US, then how come more people watch Women's Softball than a Stanley Cup Finals game.
