If I had to guess, Scotty just might have a better idea of what it takes to win back to back Cups than you do.
-
Not a chance. If you have to make a case for a player, they don't deserve it. #5 is the only current "older" Red Wing that is going to get retired. If Fedorov stayed a Wing, he would be. Way too early to tell with Zetterberg and Datsyuk.

Hossa's agent is floored by his client's behaviour

Well played. -
I can't stand Heineken, it always tastes skunked too me too. Haven't had Stella, no real reason to try it though.
-
Boston will get it. As much as I hate their fans, you can't really argue against it with how the Boston teams have been winning lately. Detroit should be #2 and everyone else can fight over the remaining spots.
-
Spot on. To be fair, the other 29 fans could say the same about Detroit. Fedorov gets booed and Shanny doesn't.
-
I can see why the Pens fans are angry, but I'd have a hard time getting worked up about a guy who spent a total of 32 games in a Pittsburgh uniform. But that's just me.

Like any of your wouldn't be upset to watch millions of dollars vanish before your eyes because of what someone else did. It didn't sound like he was pissed to me though, just surprised. Which is more a comment on the state of sports where everyone is assumed to be about the money. As far as blasting the agent for being greedy, like everyone did with Datsyuk's agent when he contract was up, remember this. The agent works for the player. If the player says, I want the most money I can get. The agent goes and does that for him. Except if its Scott Boras who tries to get the most money no matter what his client wants to do. As a side note, I will laugh my ass off if/when Hossa leaves for his 8 year, 80 million dollar contract and he gets blasted here for being greedy. -
But...but...but...Winnipeg has cold weather. They deserve a team. It's a travashamocky that Dallas (a team with a Cup and great attendance) has a team and the Jets are gone. It's just not fair!
-
Good reference, but I would have gone with Blades of Steel Play nice or don't play at all. Fair warning.
-
Rafalski, are you kidding me? Yeah he's a good player and has worked out very well for the Wings, but to put getting him at the same level as getting Hossa is nuts.
-
Short answer. No. Long answer. Nooooooooooooooooo. There's no cap space for him, there's no roster spot for him, and why exactly would Shanny even be needed in Detroit. I like the guy, but there's no reason to bring him back.
-
So, according to this thread, the only qualification for having a team is cold weather?

Reckless Kelly's latest, I've been listening to it non-stop for the last week.

He'll be branded a greedy Slovak.
-
I'm normally not a fan of bringing back old guys, but I'd love to see Feds return for a reason and retire a Wing.

It had a sweet aftertaste, which must have been the apricot. I've heard a lot of people make a big deal of it, but I just don't see what the deal is.

Like Toby and NFM stated, Hossa is excellent in his own end. He sounds like the perfect type of player for the Wings system. -
As much as The Mullet allegedly hates the Wings, I have an extremely hard time believing that he'd say the Wings won't even make the playoffs.
-
So, people ***** when ESPN ignores hockey. And, people ***** when ESPN pays attention to hockey, and even says the Wings did good.
-
Because he's Canadian

This just made my day :D

To make it a COMPLETE grand slam of an off-season -

Trade Hudler for Crosby. Trade Flip for Ovechkin. Naturally, both would be willing to play for the league minimum since they'd be so honored to play for the Wings. -
The Flames or the Stars can have him. Preferably the Flames so I don't have to watch him take dumb penalties when I go to a Stars game.

When I was back in MI, I picked up a bunch of singles I can't find down here. So far I've had the Bell's Brown Ale, which was good. And the Magic Hat #9, which I'm trying to figure out what the big deal about this beer is. It didn't have much of a taste to me.
