Only if they were playing the Al-Queda All Stars.

Being a Lions fan is like being in an abusive relationship. No matter how much they beat you and break your heart, the Lions fans always (stupidly) take them back. I've tried to become a Houston Texans fan, but it just doesn't work. Oh yeah, I read today that Millen is the 2nd highest paid GM in the game. And up until a couple weeks ago he was the highest. What a joke.

Nice job by UM. Too bad we'll still have to listen to "how great is the SEC." Although I don't think it means that UM would have beaten Florida last year. Using that same line of thinking, If Team X had beaten Team Y they'll beat Team Z, logic and applying it to this year. Wofford would beat UM. All it means is that any given day, any team can win. Maybe OSU would have won if Ted Ginn didn't get hurt last year. Who knows.

Online petitions are complete wastes of bandwidth.

QFT. It amazes me that on a board that generally wants younger and faster players, considers prospects like Hudler and Fillipula untouchable, criticizes Holland and Ilitch for hanging onto players for sentimental reasons, and complains that the Wings like to sign old guys; would want McCarty back. Actually, it doesn't amaze me. If Holland signed another 35 year old who wasn't resigned by his former team, has nagging injury problems, had his highest point totals almost 10 years ago, has plenty of off the ice problems/distractions, and isn't close to being the player he used to be; this place would go into meltdown mode.

I wish him the best, but I sure don't want to see him on the Wings again. There's no point.

Really? Datsyuk doesn't strike me as captain material at all. He's a very good player and a lot of fun to watch. But I've never really seen the leadership qualities in him that you need for a Captain. Assuming he's still a Wing when Lidstrom retires, I think it will be Zetterberg. If he's not around, I'm not sure who.

That's one of the main reasons why I won't move to Austin, as much as I'd like to. I don't have any rituals for the regular season. When I lived in Michigan, my friends and I had playoff rituals. We'd go to the same bar and order the same things. If we lost the game, we'd go to a new bar for the next game.

If there's 5 million in cap space and a move can be made to go from one of the teams favored to win, to the team to beat for the Cup, you have to make the deal.

The Spartans could have and should hvae won the game. But, 5 turnovers will kill you every time. Still, the season went a lot better than I expected it to. I really think that Dantonio is the right guy for the job in EL. I'm not a believer in moral victories, but the fact that even in the games they lost, the Spartans never game up and never lost a game by more than a touchdown. That's something that never would have happened under JLS.

Good point. That's what I get for trying to think while I'm on vacation, and in the morning no less. Well, in that case, I want to see all the Big 10 teams win except for Michigan.
-
I want to see the second 2 happen. While there always is the possibility that UM will beat Florida, any given Saturday, Appy State won, yada yada yada; the Gators are one of the worst draws Michigan could have gotten. I cannot wait to see what Tebow does to the UM defense.

You can't trade chicken s*** and get chicken salad. The only thing the Wings could get for Sammy would be an player of equal talent. The guy who pulls off the trades isn't saying anything because A) the deadline isn't near; and B) you don't want to be out there in the press saying how bad you need a 2nd line scorer or extra defenseman because all that does is drive up the price when you try to obtain those type of players. I think the Tigers had the right idea with their trade. Yes, they gave up a lot, but they got a lot in return. It's extremely tough to build for the future and contend for a championship at the same time. The Tigers would have been in the hunt for the playoffs before the trade, but now they've turned themselves into one of the top 3 teams in all of baseball. The Wings can do the same thing. If trading some youth means getting the players that will bring a Cup to Detroit, I'm all for it.

Nice job by DD getting Willis signed. Sounds like the D-Train is a pretty good guy too. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnered=rss_det

Could a morbidly obese goalie shut out an NHL team?
BlakChamber replied to edicius's topic in General
Um, pretty sure that his trying to ruin the NHL line is just a joke. Anyway, that article was absolutely hilarious. I would have loved to see the practice with the Caps. -
Seriously? Right now it's Pinball Wizard - The Who, from the Live at Leeds album.

I watched The Departed last night, so I had to listen to "I'm Shipping Up To Boston."

Like everyone else has said, no way in hell.

Wow...I didn't think it was going to happen.

Probably the best band I started listening to this year.

That's the Billy Beane way to do it, find talent or players other teams don't want and then get rid of that player when his value is high. I'm not sure when Haren would be a free agent, but there's no doubt that the A's wouldn't be able to afford him.

^^^ It would be a lot better if it was outdoors again. I was at the first Cold War, and half the fun was that it was outside. I know it would be done as a trial run for when the Frozen Four is in Detroit in a couple years. But really, it should be done at either Spartan Stadium or Michigan Stadium.

He's just playing WVU against UM to get more money out of WVU. Just wait...

Michigan's athletic department makes 17 million dollars a year. That's profit, even after all the non-revenue generating sports. I believe that's second highest in the nation. The athletic department is printing money. But, I have no doubt that the powers that be at Michigan just assumed as soon as Lloyd retired, there'd be 10 high-profile coaches lined up at the big pit wanting the job and willing to take a pay cut for it.
