Dont know how many of you acctually care...
BlakChamber replied to #19=Legend's topic in Other Sports
He's the only current Tiger and its extremely unlikely he was using last year. Rondell White, Nook Logan, Fernando Vina, Mark Carreon, Hal Morris, and Phil Hiatt are all on the list and all former Tigers. -
Cold War II/Red Wings vs. Leafs Doubleheader !?!?!
BlakChamber replied to schulzte's topic in General
Honestly, meh. The fun of the first Cold War was that it was outside. They should do it at Spartan Stadium again, or Comerica, or even the Big Pit. -
I'm surprised by how well Michigan is doing this year, given the loss of the seniors and Sauer in net. They've shown it's more than just a fluke of a hot start. My Spartans are looking pretty good as well. What's really impressed me this year is how well they've done in the first half of the season. Ever since Comley came to MSU, the Spartans have always done much better the second half of the season. And the CCHA as a whole is looking pretty damn good. Michigan, Miami, Michigan State, and Notre Dame in the top 6. Screw the WCHA and Hockey East.

The only current Tigers I'd be worried about being on the list would be Pudge and Sheff. Pudge may have been using in 04 when he first came to the Tigers, but didn't he slim down for 05? And I highly doubt Sheff was using last year. Still, it should be interesting to see who's on the list. I'm going to be highly suspicions if (A) there's no big names on the list and/or (B) no Red Sox.

To be fair, I'm not sure any goalie is all quite together between the ears. It's just part of being a goalie.

And, the trainwreck known as UM's coaching search goes on. LSU AD says of Miles moving to Michigan: 'It's over' I love it. If Miles bolts for UM after all his proclamations of staying at LSU, he'll make Nick $aban look loyal and the LSU AD look like a fool. If he stays, he makes UM look foolish for continuing to go after a guy they had no chance to get and for obviously not having any sort of plan for their coaching search.

I would love to see Jake Long as a Lion as well.
-
That sounds about right. We're not going to get a whole lot for Inge. Why do you hate paragraphs? What did they ever do to you?
-
I know what you mean. While moving out of Michigan has made it tougher to watch the Spartans, Tigers, and Wings. It is nice not being able to see the Lions embarrass themselves on a weekly basis. I caught part of the game today, I wish I hadn't.

Yes we will. That was a tough loss, but you have to hand it to NW MIzzou, that running back was great. I stopped watching the game when the Lakers had them backed up to the 2, and their RB broke off the 98 yard TD run. And it was complete crap that the game wasn't in Allendale. The Lakers have the #1 ranking all year, go undefeated, but get a 2 seed in the playoffs? Bulls***. And what a coincidence that the AD for the Bearcats is one of the guys who decides the seeding. http://www.mlive.com/lakers/grpress/index.....xml&coll=6

Now, former UM players are accusing Carr of sabotaging the coaching search. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/...es_are_liv.html There's only one way to describe UM's coaching search.

Nope http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jgsptzW...VMQgJAD8TCTJ8G1 Man...you'd think the winningest program in college football could have any coach they wanted.
-
^^^ Exactly. Between Inge's low BA and salary the Tigers aren't going to get a whole lot in return. I'd be happy too with any kind of middle relief. I do like Inge though. And he's one of 5 remaining guys from the 2003 team. I'd like to see him stay, I just don't think there's a place for him now.

There's no way the Twins would trade Santana to an AL Central team. I'd like to see Mr. Santana over in the national league myself.
-
Well, you can never have too many stud pitchers. And Boston is New York Lite, not Detroit
-
I understand being upset about losing Maybin and Miller, but this wasn't a case of trading prospects for other prospects. This was a case of trading prospects for proven talent. You can't predict the future and know what's going to happen in Maybin and Miller's careers. Baseball (and the rest of the sports world) is filled with guys who were supposed to be the next MVP or Cy Young winner, and never did anything in their career. And besides, the Tigs traded them to the Marlins. All we have to do is wait until they become good players, and the Marlins will unload them.

He'll either be a super-sub or he'll be traded. Christmas came early this year in Detroit

The D Train in the D? That's freaking sweet.
-
I believe the owners would have to fire him.

Ryan Miller, and any other former Spartan. Alex Ovechkin. Chris "Mr. Clutch" Drury.

I've seen a lot of Tech's games this year. They'll put up a ton of points, but give up a ton of points too. MSU and BC in the Champs Sports Bowl. The BCS bowls look pretty meh to me. The OU-WVU game might be fun to watch, but that's it.

Turtleneck Tommy has his revenge on UM.
-
Legace wasn't home grown. He was a free agent signing.

1-AA, D2, and D3 somehow manage to have a working playoff system. There's no reason D1 can't. I'd say keep it at 8 teams. Each of the conference champions and the next two teams using the BCS rankings.
