Yes, but why let a silly little thing like "facts" get in the way of some good ESPN bashing. In the first round for the ESPN talking heads, Bucci and Linda Cohn were the best, picking 7/8. They just got Ottawa/Pitt wrong.

I grew up in Lansing and the LSJ has fair to poor coverage of the Wings and hockey in general. The WIngs aren't front page material barring a big event like a Cup or Yzerman's retirement, but they do at least have coverage of all the games. I disagree with you about the MSU hockey team though, the LSJ usually has decent coverage of them. Neil Kopke (sp) is a decent sportswriter and knows his MSU hockey. They're not going to get the coverage of the MSU football or basketball team, but they get decent coverage. Living in a medium sized town in Texas, where the only hockey is the university's club team, there is little to no coverage in the local paper. They'll print the stories about the Stars they get off the AP wire, but that's about it. I thought the Houston Chronicle does half-way decent hockey coverage, considering there's no NHL team. They have good coverage of their AHL team though. In the end though, I don't understand why so many people ***** about media coverage. Thanks to the internet, there's no need to rely on your local paper or TV station to get your news.

Heh, After reading this thread, I really can't wait to see the meltdown when the Wings drop a game or two. I don't think this is going to be a cakewalk by any strech of the imagination. The Sharks are big, tough, and fast. Plus they have 2 good goalies. Even if the Wings beat up on Nabokov, there's Toskala ready to take over. The Sharks are a better team that Calgary, and the Wings don't always play well on the west coast. I think the Wings can win, but its going to be a tough battle and the series will probably go at least 6 games.

Rob Parker is way worse than Drew Sharp. Sharp is still horrible though.

I actually like PTI, it's one of the few shows on ESPN that is watchable. The other being Baseball Tonight. It's too bad Bucci didn't jump ship for VS. He's being wasted at ESPN.

Checked my weight at the gym, down 5 pounds to 180 I think I've probably lost more body fat, since I can tell I've put on more muscle. My pants are looser as well. I'm not going to hit where I'd like to be by the wedding next month, but I'm on the right track.

While I'm glad the NHL is doing something, Iginla and Langkow should be facing punishment as well, especially since losing McLennan really doesn't affect the Flames.

I'm glad to see the Wings are at least getting angry instead of saying "our power play is our payback" or something to that effect.

The Hockey News did their player poll survey. I thought this was interesting I know everyone likes to rip on all the suits at The Joe. I've said myself several times I think Nashville has a far better atmospher than The Joe. So what is it about The Joe that makes it so tough? I've heard the vistiors dressing room is pretty bad, but that can't be the whole story.

You've been around here long enough to know how it goes. Win a couple games, the Wings are the best team in the world. Lose a couple games, the Wings couldn't beat a special olympics team. I swear, this board is bi-polar. Perhaps some lithium would be a good idea.
