Online petitions don't work. Especially on something like getting Bettman fired.

What a great idea http://www.tsn.ca/nhl_network/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_Network And it looks like it's coming to the US even http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_Network_(U.S.)
-
We have a whole forum set up to discuss the future of the team. Moving now...
-
You start up an online petition and let me know how it goes, champ. Or you could just go sign all of these petitions, they seem to really be having an impact.

The NHL was tanking in ratings on ESPN. While I agree it would be a better network for it, it isn't like ratings are going to improve that much.
-
I sure hope not. That was a horrible decision by MLB. As far as getting back on ESPN, overall I think it would be better for the league, but it looks like a moot point now.
-
I thought the Direct TV was a done deal.

Didn't Cam Cameron just get hired somewhere?

Both UM and MSU get sweeps this weekend. According to a couple posters on the USCHO message board, Jakaitis didn't get drafted. He'll make a nice free agent pickup for someone though.
-
Jakaitis had last night off for rest, so I assume he'll be playing tonight. I took at look at his stats over the years. He's not a nice save percentage. I can only imagine what his win/loss would look like if he didn't play for Lake State. Who's got the rights to him in the NHL anyway?

Spartans beat the Lakers 3-2 in OT tonight. Michigan is taking on Alaska.

College Football Data Warehouse has Michigan with a 16-1 record against Albion http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_i...n/opponents.php Look at that 6-12 record against Cornell, ouch!
-
Oh yeah, MSU has played some dumb schools as well. But we do have a 4-0 record against the Michigan School for the Deaf I bet it's easy to audible plays against them. OK...that was probably uncalled for.

Little off season trash talk We all know the Weasels like to brag about being the winningest program in college football, right? Well just how did the get all those wins? I got this off another site I frequent. 16 of those wins (and, one loss!) are against Albion College. 3 of those wins are against Beloit College of Wisconsin. 5 of those wins are against Kalamazoo College. 7 of those wins are against Mount Union College of Ohio. 26 of those wins are against Case Institute of Technology in Ohio. 3 of those wins are against DePauw. 6 of those wins are against Eastern Michigan. 9 of those wins are against Oberlin College. 2 of those wins are against the Illinois College of Physicians and Surgeons. 2 of those wins are against the Windsor Club of Canada. 2 of those wins are against Ohio Wesleyan. 2 of those wins are against the Michigan Military Academy. 3 of those wins are against Ohio Northern. 2 of those wins are against Wittenberg College of Ohio. 2 of those wins are against Olivet College. 5 of those wins are against the Detroit Athletic Club. 2 of those wins are against the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. 2 of those wins are against Hillsdale College. And, the Champions Of The West count a win each against: Adelbert College of Ohio Adrian College American Medical of Illinois Ann Arbor High School Butler Camp Grant Carroll College of Wisconsin Chicago Harvard Club Chicago University Club (not to be confused with the University of Chicago, a charter member of the Big Ten) Denison College of Ohio Detroit Industrial Team Ferris State Grand Rapids High School Iowa Navy Pre-Flight Kenyon College of Ohio Lake Forest College of Illinois Lake Forest/Rush Medical of Illinois Lawrence College of Wisconsin Peninsular Club of Michigan Quantico Marines Racine College of Wisconsin University of Toronto Wabash College of Indiana. Leaders and the best, my ass

How is getting an education and playing for a respected program and coach having one's head up their ass? Like BRTD said, maybe he likes college. I loved college, MSU is a great place to go.

I post at USCHO, my screenname is Cosmo. I just stick to threads involving MSU though. I don't post there much anymore, since I don't actually get to watch the games. I've gotta get directv

SFE: Wings looking at 'star player' by deadline
BlakChamber replied to Mighty Wings's topic in General
Kids, this is why you don't drink and post. You come up with stuff like that. -
Yeah, we're tied for 7th in the PWR, which is the only "poll" that matters.
-
You're right, my mistake. I was quickly scanning the schedule and saw it wasn't listed as an away game. But, JLA is basically Munn East How's this for fun...the Spartans sweep Alaska this weekend, while the Wolverines split with Northern. MSU goes down one spot in the USCHO poll, while UM stays the same. Polls are worthless.
-
At least with UM splitting against Northern, the Spartans are in sole possesion of third. Plus MSU has moved up to a tie for 7th in the Pairwise Rankings. Plus, the rest of the schedule is pretty easy on out. Lake State, UNO, Michigan, Ferris, WMU, and BG. And the UM game is at Munn.

So how come Beckham is coming over? Is he too old/washed up to play in Europe?
-
Who was the last offensive lineman the Lions drafted with a first round pick, Backus?

Morris was the winningest pitcher in the 1980's, has 4 World Series rings, and pitched one of the greatest games in world series history. His main knocks against him is that he has a 3.90 lifetime ERA, and never won the Cy Young. The lack of a Cy Young, and to an extent why he's not in the Hall can probably be explained by his poor relationship with the writers. But, each year both Tram and Morris' percentages have been going up, so hopefully they'll get in eventually.
