Florida plays in a much better conference. The SEC is almost always best conference anyway, but the Big 10 is down this year, with the exception of OSU and UM. Wisconsin put up a good record this year, but they didn't have to play OSU. Otherwise, Penn State was down, Iowa was down. Florida beat more ranked teams than Michigan did. I'll admit, I'm biased, but I think Florida is the better team. Really though, there's no way anyone can say that one team is better than the other.

I like the Cubs as well. I don't really consider myself a big fan, but I had to pick a NL team to cheer for, it would be the Cubs. And the Braves, but that's only because John Smoltz went to my high school. Sadly for the Cubs, 03 was probably their best chance. As far as Manny, I agree with Lou that it would probably cost us too much. Boston doesn't seem that desperate to deal him.

Hell, with the exception of Saban, MSU has been a death trap for coaches since long before that. Since 1954, when Duffy Daugherty took over, MSU has had 9 head coaches. 7 of them have been fired. 2 quit for better jobs.

For some reason I thought USCHO had MSU lower. I must be confusing it with the INCH poll. Wisconsin is really down this year. I don't follow the WCHA that much, so I don't know what their deal is. Hopefully MSU can take them tonight and get 2 points out of this trip.

No. I haven't. I actually haven't seen him play at all. But that's not the point, because...I haven't written off Latendresse. See, unlike you, I try to A) actually see the player play before I write them off, and B) think that it might be a good idea to wait and see how a player does in the NHL, before trying to guess what kind of NHL career he's going to have. I'll admit, I'm biased toward Abdelkader because he's a fellow Spartan. But, if you go back and read this thread, you can't quote one post where I say he's better than Latendresse or write Latendresse off. I may have poked fun at the armchair GM"s who think they know more than Holland and the scouting department, but tha'ts it. And by the way, you've never answered my question, even though I've asked a couple times. You've said a few times that Abdelkader won't make the NHL or is a long shot, at best. What are you basing that on?

And Ford Sr. sells the team. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm very happy for Joey. He put up with so much s*** when he was in Detroit. To see him come back and light up the Lions made me smile. I would have liked to see him flip of the fans, or talk some s*** to Dre Bly, but he's not that type of guy.

ND's refusal to join the Big 10 doesn't have as much to do with the fact that they would supposedly play a tougher schedule than the fact they'd have to give up all their NBC money. Obviously, ND is the best choice to join the Big 10, but it just ain't going to happen.

I've always thought Pitt would be a good choice to join the Big 10. Geographically they're close and they've got both a decent football and basketball program.

MSU needs to pick it up on the road. Especially since they've got Wisconsin and Minnesota this weekend.

So Eva is unqualfied to say that Latendresse can't skate, but you're qualified to say that Abdelkader is a long shot for the NHL?
