I don't know...it's better that he's sucking it over in Russia. At least that way it's not costing the Wings money and roster space.

I don't think Izzo leaving would hurt the hoops program as much as one might think. There's a guy, I forget his name that Izzo has basically been grooming as his successor for a while now. He's also supposed to be very knowledgable about football, he'd probably do better than people would think. But, in today's State News, he said he's not ready to give up the basketball job, he's got some unfinished business, as he put it.

I refuse to believe any rumor until the actually signing is announced. I've heard from, from people who are in places to know things, that first MSU hired Kelly and were going to announce it after the Central/Western game. Then I got told by a friend at one of the Detroit papers that it was LSU's defensive coordinator. I never thought that English was coming to MSU.
-
What do you base that statement on?
-
Well, since you responded to the person who said that Latendresse doesn't have the skating skills to be a power forward, by bring up Luc, I asked if he was. Simple as that. There are plenty if players who did great in juniors and never made it in the NHL. There's also plenty of guys who weren't first round picks and went on to have long careers. I think it's just a little too soon to write Abdelkader off, and annoint Latendresse the would-have-been savior of the Wings, eh? Maybe we could wait until both of them are in the NHL before deciding who's going to have the better career? Besides, Latendresse isn't exactly frontrunner for the Calder now, is he?
-
Was Lucky Luc considered a power forward? I didn't think he was, could be wrong though. Abdelkader racked up another assist in MSU's 2-0 win over Notre Dame Saturday. He should have 10 points in 11 games, by my count.

Hey, I was here for all of football season, embarssed to be a Spartan

MSU split with Notre Dame this weekend. WTF is going on with the Irish???

According to the latest BCS rankings, UM is still #2 http://msn.foxsports.com/id/6188772_37_1.pdf

All this talk of so and so plays a weak non-conference schedule is starting to get old. All teams do it. Besides ND, Michigan played Vandy, CMU, and Ball State. Real power houses right there. Is that really any better than Arkansas playing USC, Vandy, and a couple other cupcakes. ND's schedule isn't that weak. I don't think the Irish should be in the national championship game personally. But I don't think you can really say that Michigan is head and shoulders above the rest of the one loss teams out there.

So much for seeing Rutgers in Arizona. OSU/Florida? Assuming Florida wins out
-
Good game by Michigan, but a better game by OSU. Personally, I don't want to see a rematch, especially since UM lost. I wouldn't want to see a rematch no matter who won, but I think there would be a better case for rematch if UM won in a close game than lost in a close one. Give it to Rutgers if they win out, otherwise pick a 1 loss team. I'm cheering for Rugters since the girlfriend is a Rutgers alum, and has decided that if Rugters goes to a BCS bowl, we're going to go.

Sigh...another MSU football season come and gone. Oh well, at least it's hockey and hoops season.
-
Look, I'm not going to say defend what people were saying, because it's completely wrong. But if Izzo died of a heart attack tomorrow, you can't tell me there wouldn't be some UM supporters (not you guys here) saying the same sorts of things. I'd be mad, just like you UM fans have a right to be, but I wouldn't take it as every UM fan thinks that way. Assholes are assholes, doesn't matter whether they're wearing green and white, or yellow and blue. The anonymity of the internet just gives them a voice.

That was absolutely ridiculous last night. Maryland had a couple of dives that Peter Forsberg would be proud of. Despite the loss, I really liked what I saw from MSU the last 2 nights. Good defense, good rebounded, and tough basketball. This is going to be a team that doesn't have the star players, but is going to win because they play as a team and have heart.

It saddens me to see my fellow Spartans act that way
-
^^^ Very nice. And if you've never heard their songs, they are funny as hell.

The story put out by the Tigers says that since Sheff is going to be their big bat, they didn't need one at first. http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/n...sp&c_id=det

It's mostly for lamenting. After all, the majority of people on this site are clearly smarter than Ken Holland and the Wings scouts, and know for a fact that Latendresse will turn out better than Abdelkader. Never mind the fact that, I would bet no more than 10 people have actually seen Abdelkader play.

I've read on several sites that Jamie Walker is looking to get a 3 year, 9-12 million dollar deal. There's a shortage of lefthanded relievers on the market this year. I like Walker, and I don't fault him for going for a big payday, but I don't think he's worth that price.

Amen to that

I'm sure you did a fine job pushing the broom there I'm not up for repeating myself, in post 594 I explained the type of UM fan I hate. All of them As far as this alleged letter, how are UM campus police going to be operating in Columbus? That's just slightly out of their jurisdiction.
-
Well said. Plus, the Tigers are actually a team. In the sense that it's a group of guys who all seem to like each other and get along. Bond's isn't exactly known as a team player.
-
That's exactly true. My main issue with Wolverine fans that didn't go there isn't so much the fact that they didn't go there. I have no issue with guys like you or BRTD. It's the ones this guy. This is from the Detroit News before the 2004 game. "U-M fan Jeff Lott, 37, of Flint, didn't go to college, but that doesn't stop him from making fun of Michigan State. 'You can't expect a lot about a college based on agricultural skills," said Lott, a clerk for a sporting goods store. "When they talk, they tend to attract flies.'" This guy has no affiliation whatsoever to UM besides hanging a UM flag outside his doublewide, but he's going to act like he's superior to MSU graduates world wide? You think we're the dumb ones? f*** you, buddy. I hope your meth lab blows up on you.
