    2006 ALDS: Tigers vs Yankees

You and me both. I could never figure out how he always knew where everyone was from. Eventually, I decided that when you went to the ballpark, you signed in where you were from, and Ernie had a big map of Tiger Stadium, so he'd just look who caught the foul, check their seat, and say their hometown. Then on my first trip to Tiger Stadium, I couldn't figure out why we didn't sign the big map saying we were from Lansing.

    2006 ALDS: Tigers vs Yankees

For all you long time Tigers fans who grew up listening to the game on the radio, Ernie Harwell will be in the broadcast booth with ESPN for a couple innings on Friday. I cannot wait to see/hear this http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...431/1048/SPORTS Just hope they don't cut him off like that ***** Jeanie Zelasko did during the All Star Game last year.

I don't know. I remember thinking to myself that Jeter should have been called out on strikes in the third, but was given a 4 inch strike zone since he's Jeter. No matter though, water under the bridge now. The Tigs are going to have to come out hitting tonight though. Mussina usually gives them trouble.

You have to wonder how the game might have changed if Damon didn't get that infield hit in the 3rd.

I believe Rogers has a poor record at Yankee Stadium as well.

Detroit Tigers should have been AL Central Champs!

I'm glad to see there's still a few people keeping things in perspective. Think back to the begining of the season. If there's anyone here who honestly says they thought the Tigers were going to make the playoffs, they're lying. I was hoping for an 85-77 season this year, and I thought that might have been pushing it. I'm 26 years old. The last time the Tigers made the post season I was 7. That is a long ******* time. Hell, there's a whole generation of kids who have never known a Tigers team that even played above .500. I know it's easy to get frustrated with what happened to end the season. I know I am. But at the same time, this is October. It's a magical time where anything can happen, especially in a short series. And no matter what happens in the playoffs, it's impossible to call this season anything other than a success

Stanton has bruised ribs. Ringer has a sprained knee. According to the Free Press their status will be updated today.

Yeah, the implosion usually isn't due for a few more weeks. I honestly have nothing to say, other than that I'm full of hatred toward MSU football right now.

The last series the Tigers won was taking 2 out of 3 in Boston, August 14th, 15th, & 16th. I'd say we were due for a series win. And, Chicago lost, but Minnesota won tonight.

Good win by the Spartans today. I was impressed they were able to compose themselves after a horrible first quarter and come back with 38 unanswered points. Go Green!

I can see Michigan beating ND, but no way is the score this low for either team.

I don't say this often, but I'll be cheering for the Irish next week. Of course, its because I want ND coming to East Lansing undeafeated and overconfident. I don't want them coming in pissed off after a loss to UM in South Bend and knowing that a second loss will ruin any national championship hopes. So...Go ND :puke: With the exception of 27 seconds in the second quarter yesterday, MSU dominated EMU, like they were supposed to. Trannon had 14 catches, and passed for a TD on a double reverse. Stanton had 3 TDs through the air and ran for 2 more. Even Hoyer threw a TD. Good to see the offense clicking

Yeah, the Tigs schedule definitely favors them over Chicago and Minny. What happened last night? I was following the game online, and stopped when it was 4-2 in the 5th.

Spartans and Hurons...err...Eagles today. I'm thinking today the MSU offense is going to come alive and put at least 40 points on the board.
