    MLB Season 2006 thread

Polanco has been fighting a back problem all year. I think I heard on the broadcast during a Houston game that he's getting better though. I'm not sure what will happen with Maroth and Miner. If I had to guess, I'd say that Miner will go back to Toledo and be brought up for spot starts. Leyland has mentioned he'd like to use a 6 man rotation every now and then for some extra rest. I don't want to see him be used a middle relief, since I think he's got a pretty good amount of starter potention. I'd rather see him in AAA pitching every 5 days then in Detroit throwing 2 innings every couple days. That's tough to do though, since Miner is proving he can pitch at the big league level.

Why would that be good? Polanco was probably the best player on the Tigers last year. He makes 5.4 million less than Soriano and is a team player, something Soriano was accused of not being earlier this year. Polanco has been bothered by his back some this season, but he's an extremely dependable contact hitter. Furthermore, no team in the league is going to take Jones off our hands Edit: Lou and I post the same thing at the same time, nice

Tiger Stadium on verge of being demolished

^^^ That looks similar to what they want to do with Tiger Stadium.

Both the Astros TV and radio guys were giving the Tigers a lot of love tonight. The radio guys were talking about how they hoped to get one last look at Tiger Stadium this road trip. The TV color guy was really excited about seeing Verlander pitcher on Wednesday. People are starting to realize. Personally, I'm content to NY and Boston have all the attention, the less pressure the better, at least that's my way of thinking.

I remember my reaction when I heard they signed Kenny for 8 million a year was, "what the f*** is DD doing??" I wish everyone on this site who thinks they're smarter than Holland would remember that they have access to a very small percentage of the information GMs have available. I'm watching the game on FSN Houston right now, and their announcers are giving the Tigers quite a bit of love. Although after that 5 run 3rd inning, they might stop

    SICK!

I can't believe I'm going to defend Nike, but it isn't completely their fault. The players had input on what they wanted in the new uniform. That being said, those things are hideous. If I were a player on the team, I'd transfer.

Support The Tigers! Vote For Pudge.

I would say Maggs and Rogers have the best chance of making the all star team. Sadly, the entire starting line up will probably be yankees and red sox.

I'd like to keep Miner if at all possible. He seems like he's got the stuff to be a solid player in the bigs.

The DH needs to go. I'm a big fan of interleague play, as long as its used how it is now. No need to expand it.

I have a bunch of friends going too. Would be nice to see a lot of support in the stands. I've only been to a few Tigers away games, but at both of them (Texas and Baltimore) there were quite a few Tigers fans in the crowd.

    Official Goalie Wish-List Thread

I already got rid of the same topic started by the same poster earlier in the day. FYI for everyone. If you start a thread, especially a goalie one, and it disappears. That IS NOT a sign to repost the very same thread
