Way to completely miss the point. Good job

Anybody can play hockey too. You just have to figure out how to skate. Really, anybody can play any sport. Being good at it, that's a whole other story.

I was pretty excited about the Miller pick up as well. Especially when I read he was the #1 rated player going into the draft
-
That is 100% false. Go out there and try to hit a fastball with no training. Or throw strikes, Or throw a pass into coverage with the biltz coming, etc. Just because you might not like those sports, doesn't mean they're easy and you can get good at them in a few months. Anyway, like other's have said. The World Cup is a big deal because its the most popular sport in the world. Pretty simple really. Hockey doesn't have something on the same scale because its levels of participation are so low, when compared to soccer.

From what I saw, they weren't making that big a deal out of it, I was a little surprised. They talked about how he's a fireballer, but didn't talk about him throwing triple digets like I figured they would. Berman did seem pretty impressed with how the Tigers have turned the team around. He also mentioned a few times what a great baseball city Detroit is and how the fans have been waiting for a winning team. It was nice to see them get some love. They had nice things to say about Verlander too. But, someone called during the 7th, so I was trying to watch the game and pay attention to the call at the same time. I'm not a good multi-tasker when the game is on Right now, the Tigs are the front page story on ESPN.com's baseball section, and they get a mention on the cover of this week's SI

Nice win by the Tigs last night. A come from behind win over the Yanks playing small ball Drapes, Stevie, and Lidstrom were at the game too. ESPN showed them a couple times, and Chris Berman would give updates on the Canes/Sabres game.

You mean, 715* If I remember correctly, Rogers has struggled his last two starts. I know his last start before yesterday, the Tigers got the win, but I don't remember Kenny pitching well.
-
Another win tonight Is that 13 of the last 14, or 14 of 15?
-
I like seeing the Tigers win come back games. A couple years ago, even last year they would have just given up. Not anymore.
-
The Tigs have now taken 12 of the last 13. After KC though, there is a brutal stretch of games coming up. Cleveland, NY and Boston at home, followed by Chicago and Toronto on the road. A good stretch here means this team has what it takes to play with the big boys

And the Tigers take 2 out of 3 from the Reds

From ESPN.com's Daily Quckie And, my own handiwork

Its kinda tough being a Tigers fan right now. Iu want to believe so badly that they've finally turned it around, but I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Hell of a game last night from what I could tell. I'm going to have to spring for the MLB.com streaming video so I can watch a game. Or at the very least, get the audio.

Come Tigers fans, where ya at? The Tigs are tied with Chicago for first place in the Central, and for the best record in baseball

Mitch Albom has an interview with Joey in today's Free Press http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../605140623/1082

No. It is soooooooooo tempting to lock this thread

I would have loved to have heard Kaline in the booth again. Of course, the only Tigers games I'm going to get to watch on TV are the three they have against the Astros. And even then I'll have to listen to the Houston feed.
-
Disappointing series with the Twinkies, but the Metrodome isn't exactly the Tigers best park. Hopefully they can take at least 2 of 3 from the O's starting tonight.
-
You can't have him. He was mine first

I was looking at the box score for tonight's game and noticed this. In 12 innings, Rodney has 9 K's and has yet to allow a run, earned or unearned. Damn. However, Joel Zumaya is still my Tiger.
-
Good night for the Tigs, they have a come from behind win against the Angels and Joel Zumaya got his first big league win
-
The Tiger have pulled within 1/2 a game of the White Sox. Up next, two games against the Angels. Robertson against Weaver tonight.
-
The Tigs swept the Twins this weekend for the first time since April 2002. They also outscored the Twins 33-1 in three games.

I CANNOT BELIEVE the Lions passed on the golden boy.

Manning isn't any more or less exciting to watch than Roethlisberger.
