According to the Detroit News, UM is on the bubble. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...S0201/603050311

Is his contract still on the books? I know MLB contracts are guaranteed, you get paid if you're hurt, but I don't know if it covers retirement.

If you scroll down a little bit in the link I posted, Wonk's got an interview with one of the guys who claims to be behind it. Basically, they somehow got a hold of some NCAA sweaters, and told the Izzone people they were NCAA interns doing some special promotion, and the cards would spell out either "go state." I thought it was pretty clever myself, nothing like a good college prank
-
I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. Apparently some UM students tricked the Izzone into spelling out "Go Blue." Check it out. http://bigtenwonk.blogspot.com/2006/02/did...-blue-last.html

I hate Michigan more than I hate hippies, but I'll give Michigan some props on that win. From what I saw of the game, that looked like some great defense.
-
I don't blame you. Michigan is turning their program around, but they're not "back."
-
Nothing like a 19 point loss to say "we're back."

My Favorite European Players, by Don Cherry

I don't see this happening. I think Sundin earns something like 6.5 million a season or so. We don't have the room.

Pitchers and catchers report today!! I love spring training, the one time out of the year the Tigers still have a shot When do the rest of the players report?

I'm hoping he'll stay for all 4 years. MSU hasn't had a huge problem with their hockey players leaving early, unlike Izzo and the basketball program. Miller did a few years ago, but he played for 3 years. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Comley seems to finally have the team going in the direction he wants, so the Spartans could go back to being a top team. Of course, there was the whole incident with AJ Thelen last year leaving early, but that was different.

Abdelkader now has 19 points in 33 games, 9 goals and 10 assists. The freshman line of Abdelkader-Kennedy-Crowder has been called one of the best in the CCHA. Keep up the good work

Is he a Beagle? I love hounds. My first dog was a Beagle, then our second was a Beagle/Fox Hound mix. This is my (well, my parents) current dog, Emma. The pictures are a few months old, she's gotten bigger.

Question. I didn't get to see the game, but I saw the foul discrepancy. According to a letter on Big Ten Wonk, MSU committed 26 while Michigan committed 13. What happened? Was MSU really that sloppy, or was it come home court advantage? BTW, if you're a Big 10 hoops fan, I recommend reading Big Ten Wonk. Good insight, stats, and he's pretty funny.

Good job by Michigan, they are turning their program around. But if you think their program is even close to State's, well...I can't help you there.

I'm more into flipping cars. I leave the couch burning for the undergrads.

Basketball is the one sport that State has consistantly been better than Michigan in. Michigan can have their elitist fans, and their trailer-park fans. I sure as hell don't want either them. Now if only Michael Moore would stop wearing that MSU hat

I have two words for you. Ed. Martin. As far as why Michigan has a lot of fans in other states. Simple. The Weasels attract bandwagon fans like no other team out there. Of course, most of those fans are inbred mouth-breathers who spend most of the day drinking Busch Lite, workin' down at the cement factory, and dreaming about the day when they can upgrade to a double wide. 99% of them couldn't get into Michigan, and 99.9% of them couldn't find ***** Town...err...Ann Arbor on a map if their life depended on it. I especially love it when these fans try to look down at State fans. I may have gone to a land grant school, but that's more than you ever did. Of course, the other option is dealing with the snotty, elitist, pompous jackasses who actually did go to UM. I don't actually know which fan is worse to deal with. This should get some people fired up

In case you guys hadn't seen it, the NFL changed the Lions schedule next year 2006 LIONS SCHEDULE September 14.....Warren Junior High 21.....Cub Scout Troop #101 28.....Detroit Blind Academy October 05.....Spanish American War Vets 12.....Crippled Children's Home 19.....Newberry Mental Hospital 26.....Girl Scout Troop #353 November 02.....Michigan Venereal Disease Clinic 09.....Flint Boys Choir 16.....Korean Amputees SPECIAL MONDAY NIGHT GAME December 08.... Saginaw *** Boys Club **RULES CHANGES FROM LAST YEAR** 1- When playing polio patients, the Lions must not disconnect knee braces. 2- When playing the Blind Academy, the Lions must not hide the football under their jerseys **RULES THE SAME FROM LAST YEAR** 1- A touchdown ( this is when the ball is carried over the goal line for all you Lion fans that have never seen this) it is still worth 6 points. 2- The Lions will be allowed 20 men on the field at all times. 3- The Lions will be allowed to substitute with band members at any time. 4- The Lions will be awarded 10 time outs as opposed to 3 for the opposing team. 5- The Lions will be awarded a first down with each gain of three yards or more, instead of the usual ten yards. **NAME CHANGE** The Detroit Lions will be changed to the "Detroit Tampons" as they are only good for one period and have no second string. **COACHING CHANGES** Jauron will be replaced by Monica Lewinsky, she will no doubt blow a few, but she certainly won't choke on the big ones!!!!

Abdelkader had a goal and an assist in the Spartans sweep of UAF. He's back playing on the all freshman line with Kennedy and Crowder. From what I read, they played really well this weekend.
-
According to the Houston paper, which I usually read, its all but official that Gary Kubiak will be the Texans coach. And RMWG, Millen isn't going anywhere
-
Viva la revolution...death to the imperialist capitalist dogs Uhhh...sorry, that just kinda slipped out there. Don't know what got into me
-
Well, technically the cigars were still legal when Kennedy's aide bought them. The embargo wasn't signed until the next day
-
you coulda just said it was a pre-embargo cuban. there's still lots of those around and very tasty too. I didn't think about that. Interesting bit of historical trivia. The day before President Kennedy signed the Cuba embargo, he had an aide go out and buy 1,200 Petit Upmann Cuban cigars.

Exactly...its all in good fun And...uhhh...it wasn't a Cuban...it was a Dominican. Honest
