Why do you hate freedom? peace I don't hate freedom. Didn't you see what I wrote? I said it was free. Free, freedom, close enough

I don't think I posted in the thread yet, so here's me. Normally, I don't smoke, but I'm not going to pass up a free Cuban.

    Justin Abdelkader

Abdelkader had a goal and an assist in two games against Wayne State this weekend.

    Tigers offseason thread

That was my first thought, if he's unhappy with the way the O's are going, why on earth would he want to the Tigers?

    Tigers offseason thread

Tigers reportedly interested in Tejada http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../601060321/1129 While Tejada coming here would give the Tigers one hell of an infield (assuming Guillen wasn't part of the trade), I'd hate to think about what we'd have to give up.

Spector: Turco may sign with Detroit this summer

I'd love to see Turco in Detroit. Hopefully he doesn't know how bad the fans treat the goalie here though

Heaton, Rick...wow...you guys dare go against the orthodoxy that says everything Holland does is s**t? That takes some balls. I mean, how dare you think that the GM and the scouting department know more about a player than a bunch of keyboard jockeys who read a couple websites? Personally, I feel really horrible for Abdelkader. I mean, the poor kid just wants to play hockey, but he's going to have to go through his entire career with NorrisNick judging his every move. I don't know about you guys, but I don't think I'd be able to handle that kind of pressue.

    Thompson basically just fired FAVRE!

We Lions fans always pay attention to the Packers. Mostly because the Pack is always beating us. I don't think comparing Farve to Yzerman works here, because Yzerman would (or at least he seems like) he'd retire without a second thought if he thought he was hurting the team. It does seem to be a tough call as to whether Farve is holding the Packers back. On one hand, its painfully obvious he doesn't have the skills he used to. But on the other hand, like you said, his team got racked with injuries this year. Who knows what would have happened if he stayed healthy. Ultimately though, I think a guy like Farve has earned the right to retire on his own terms. However, there is no way I'd say Farve is the 2nd best QB in the league right now.

    Detroit Lions

I didn't get to watch the game, but statistically, Joey Ballgame had a great day. Wouldn't surprise me if that's one of his best games in his NFL career. I hope he does well on whatever team he ends up on.

    Detroit is B-Ball Town

I loved the Barry Sanders/Wayne Fontes era, it was so predictable. The Lions would have a good season, make the playoffs, and lose first round. The next year, they'd have a tougher schedule and have a losing season. Then next season, they'd have an easier schedule, make the playoffs, lose first round, and the cycle would repeat itself.

Its the GLI, not GLIAC. The GLIAC is the conference GVSU, SVSU, etc is in I read someone 60 shots is a new GLI record.

    Detroit is B-Ball Town

Detroit was probably Tiger Town at least through 1987, when they last made the playoffs. Even in 1988 they were second in the AL East. Then 1989 was really the beginning of the end.

    Detroit is B-Ball Town

I actually think Detroit is a football town. Think about how bad the Lions have been and how long they've been bad. Then think about how they still sell out all their games. Any other city would have given up on them a long time ago, but Detroit football fans are the most passionate (and delusional ) out there.

    Alamo Bowl-Michigan vs Nebraska

As anyone who was around here during college football season knows, I hate Michigan almost as much as I hate hippies, and I HATE hippies. That being said, Michigan got hosed last night. That fumble looked like an incomplete to me, I thought Henne's arm was moving forward. That was clearly pass interference, and I have no idea what was happening on that last play. Bet you Michigan fans wish you had the refs from the Penn State game I keed...I keed.

    Alamo Bowl-Michigan vs Nebraska

I wonder what the mindset at Nebraska is like, I mean they haven't been a national contender in I don't know how long. Michigan fans were ready to torch Ann Arbor at the start of the season, I can only imagine what it would be like if they were slumping like Nebraska has been. Which leads me to another question, why did Nebraska start sucking?

    Alamo Bowl-Michigan vs Nebraska

As much as I hate Michigan, they were absolutely robbed in 1997. That being said, go Huskers

    Detroit Lions

Until the Saints have their own fans marching in protest, they won't be as bad as the Lions.

Same here. He's been promoted to #2 though. Joey's getting the start and Garcia got dropped to #3.

    Detroit Lions

That's how it is being a Detroit sports fan, especially for the Lions and Tigers. That's why I like how the end of baseball season and the start of football season overlap. By the end up September, I'm such an irrate Tigers fan I'm swearing I'll never go to another game or watch one. But I've got hope, its the start of football season, this year I know its the Lions year! Then December comes around. The Lions have been embarssing themselves on a weekly basis. And I think to myself, "only a few more months until spring training. This year the Tigers are gonna win it!" Its a vicious cycle
