Awsome. I read today that he has until June or July 1st(one of em, I forget)2006 to sign or we lose his rights. Hopefully next year we can get him signed and playing over here.

That's awsome about McGrath. Kindl on the other hand, not so much. Maybe Kindl would do better if we picked him in the 3rd round.

They finally got him into the USHL. He is a RoughRider.

He's a defensive foward type who played with GR last season. I dunno if he's under contract or not. We'll wait for Wingman, he knows his Griffins.

I was wondering what's going on with this guy. He's 23 and has never played in NA. Anybody know when or if he is ever coming over, and maybe a little more about his game?

I guess we'll see this year. I think Datsyuk will do well, then we'll sign him long term for a big money contract that he wants so badly. Say what you will Federov isn't as good as he was, and he's getting worse. This year will show a lot. That's my opinion, silly or not.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I didn't say he was going to a tenth of the player Federov was. All I'm saying is I'de rather sign youth than a used up player on the decline. Federov was dominant when he wanted to be. He WAS great, fantastic, and his s**t didn't stink. Now he's old and getting older. If it's a "Who would you want back in their prime" I would choose Federov. But it's not. Christ, why is it so hard for people to move on?

Anybody hear if he'll be playing in N. America this year? He seems to be a fiery guy who can piss off just about anybody, kinda like Ville Niemen. I would love to see him in Grand Rapids this year.

Datsyuk is still learning, and could very well come in with a sound D-game in a couple years. In terms of his playoff scoring, I think he'll get over that, but I could be wrong. Ken Holland has never planned for the future, but now he has to.

So you'de rather sign an overpaid senior citizen then pay Datsyuk the same thing? Even if Dats is here for 2 years, trade him towards the end of his contract, and he'll get more return then Federov ever hoped to. And no Federov wouldn't take a pay cut to come play for the wings. Future is where were headed, not the past.

Datsyuk, no contest. Sure Federov was great, but he's prolly got 5 years left at the most, and Datsyuk has prolly a good 12-13 years. Taking Federov over Datsyuk is just plain stupid.

Quincey and maybe Blatak have a good shot of making the team in the next 3 years. Kolasau is a very long term project, and he might not ever make it. Kindl will prolly be ready in about 3 years, but I'm honestly not sold on him. None of the other guys are gonna be anything above a 5th or 6th defenseman. Next year will tell you a lot about Kindl.

Good for the Griffs. How come they seem to know that you need a tough team, yet the wings are still fist high on a hand job in the toughness department?

No. We didn't sign Osgood and keep Legace to have a rookie start for us.

Abby. Why you ask? I think SJ is gonna have trouble repeating their performance from last season. The Avs pretty much have the same team, minus Foote. Plus he should be coming into his prime the next couple seasons.

Howard has it easily, and if he continues to play well, he might be able to push for the starting position.

I think in 2 years we'll be in good position to promote him. Chelios and Schnieder will prolly be gone, maybe Lilja won't be back either. Perfect timing for Quincy to step his game up.

I would relish a trade with the Preds. I know it would never happen, but Legwand and Hartnell for Datsyuk and a 3rd rounder would be titacular. Hell, Datsyuk for Legwand and any one of there 4-5 extremely good d-men prospects would be awsome. Smyth from Edmonton would be good too.

I was also wondering the same thing. At least he's at TC, so that will prolly help out his chances of playing in NA.
