What a waste of bandwidth. I wonder if these folks actually think we need a new netminder or if they are just bored and need to hear themselves type. I wonder if the goalie thread people have ever been to a game (or outside, in public, away from their keyboard) that is 4-4 late in the third. How freaking exciting is that?! Especially if the Wings win?!! In a shootout?!! The emotional roller coaster is what being a fan is all about, imho. Who wants a 6-1 blowout every single game, anyway? Moosefarts, that's who. YES!! I posted this line of thinking about 10-12 games in when everyone was going nuts. I agree with your theory, except I said the Wings would break out around the allstar break. Methinks you are a visionary!!

Exactly. Especially wit kids. But you see my point? You were very clear in your statement. Shoreline, not so much. I thought that was his/her meaning but I would have had to assume, and that usually gets me in some trouble........ We weren't talking about kids though, so I questioned. No sarcasm or hate. You make some very good points, but I have to wonder at the idea that nobody wants to see it. The NHL doesn't want fighting, but the players and the fans sure do. (any arena anywhere when a fight is allowed to happen....isn't everyone on their feet?!) I agree...I don't want sleaze. A little trash, yes. But sleaze is in the eye of the beholder, right?

I think he should get suspended, but not thrown out of the league. As someone stated earlier, he is the only thing getting the NHL ANY kind of press at all. Good, bad or otherwise it's still press.

I think it's safe to say that noone really gives much weight to what Avery says. He does not have a reputation for being intellectual or a genius. That's not what he is, nor does he pretend to be. Most that know about him would say he is an ass. I think he probably admits he is an ass. His comment was rude, uncalled for, classless, demeaning, sexist, stupid, and any other type of negative you want to throw at it. So what? Everyone knows he is an ass....what would you expect? Avery is a joke. The problem is jokes used to be at someone elses expense in order to be funny. You can't make fun of people any more. Their feelings might get hurt, and that's not very nice. We want a nice little world with a nice little version of hockey in it. I can't stand politically correct. I think peoples feelings get hurt way too easily these days. I am pretty sure that Elisha knows she is not sloppy seconds. Dion knows it, too. So do we. Surprise, surprise....Avery knows it too. He's just an ass, so what do you expect? Here's how it should play out in my opinion....Boy and girl break up. (who broke up with who?) Girl gets new boyfriend. Old boyfriend talks trash. New boyfriend catches up to old boyfriend and punches him in the mouth because his girls' honor is at stake. Chivalry is not dead except in a politically correct world. .....or....... Dion and Elisha ignore the ass because he doesn't really matter. If someone talked trash about my wife that's probably my 2 choices. Punch the jerk in the mouth (pretty likely) or ignore the fool cuz he's an ass. I know who and what my wife is no matter what a simple ass thinks. Bettman is worse for hockey than an ass like Avery will ever be. Wind Sean up and let him go, I say. oh, and don't crucify me for advocating violence. I know most of you would like to pop Bettman in the kisser. C'mon now... tell the truth.
