  2. *really stern voice* No standing around tonight boys. No floating in front of J-Ho waiting for the Duckkies to give you the puck. *Crazy-twirling spiral hypnotist eyes* You will take the game to the Duckkies all night long. Now bark cuz you won the game......lockerroom in unison...."woof" edit:spelling
  3. 1/22 GDT : Stars 2 at Red Wings 1

Stepping in late,,,on the broadcast last night, they said it was a sellout crowd. 20,000 +. Didn't look that way to me. Usual lower bowl corporate empty seats, but lots empty above, too. well, crap. posted this in the wrong thread. please
  4. 1/22 GDT : Stars 2 at Red Wings 1

    how sweet would that be!!
  5. 1/22 GDT : Stars 2 at Red Wings 1

Nailed it yesterday with a 4-3 shoot out win. Let's see....that makes my predictions about.....12% correct. TooToo shows us again that he is home with the Wings. Gordie Howe hat trick. 3 goals early for the Wings, answered by a single Star goal, and one more for good measure by the Wings. 4-1. Not a single Wing is injured in the making of this hockey game.
  6. 1/21: Red Wings 4 at Blue Jackets 3 (SO)

I hope they boys aren't lazy and don't suck like they did on Saturday. Man, they stunk the place up! Here's to a little spring in their skates and some hitting, for Pete's sake. TooToo gets a good one in and no penalty for his efforts. Wings wake up and squeak out a 4-3 win in shoot out. edit: recording the game. Going to the Clinton-Macomb library to see my old pal Fred Preibe, who is a very credible Abe Lincoln reenactor, give a talk on why he took so long to issue the Emancipation proclamation. I loves me some history....
  7. 1/19: Red Wings 0 at St. Louis Blues 6

I did say "I think I'm pretty much done with them" or something to that effect, so in that sense you are completely correct. I'm a hipocrate or liar in your eyes. Spending money because of them, I suppose is true, but they aren't getting any of it, which was my whole point. I eat at resteraunts throughout the baseball season and it doesn't help the MLB or Tigers in any way. And if I spend money in any way this season that directly benefits the NHL or Wings, I'll post it so that you can be 100% right. But it won't happen. I didn't think anyone paid that much attention to what I post here. Thanks for noticing me. edit: maybe we should go to pm for further discussion, if necessary, soas not to derail the thread?
  8. 1/19: Red Wings 0 at St. Louis Blues 6

OOOOOkaaayy....but I mentioned money. Time and emotion is not money. The Red Wings and the NHL will have no way of knowing if I watch, but neither will benefit monitarily from me watching tonight....but Cheli's Chili's will.
  9. 1/19: Red Wings 0 at St. Louis Blues 6

Fantastic GDT, Mike! I feel a little slimy. I was so mad about the lockout I was swearing off all things hockey and NHL. No support from me! Going to Cheli's Chili in Clinton Twp. to watch the game with some folks from here. I will stand strong and not directly support either side monetarily. No merchandise or games as a protest. Back on topic... Both teams rusty because of no exhibition games and short training camp. It will alternate between comical and nerve wracking. TooToo impresses his critics here and not one wooden whistle is heard. Wings prevail and win 5-3.
  10. Brunner's nickname

I could call you Betty. Betty when you call me, you call me Al. (anyone get this sad attempt at humor?)
  11. Sent out a message to some members in the Metro Detroit area about a get together. Not much response. hockey&beer already had plans to go to Cheli's in Clinton Twp. I'm gonna join him. Anyone else is, of course, welcome too. Reply and we'll get a long list of LGW members there! RED WINGS VS BLUES at CHELI'S CHILI CLINTON TWP. (18 1/2 mile and Hayes) 41240 Hayes Rd, Clinton Township, Clinton Township, MI, 48038, US Satruday January 19 puck drop 8:00 pm. Consensus is to get there about 7:00 to get a good table. ATTENDING: hockey&beer HOCKEY MATTERS Your name here!
  12. Eaves Cleared for Contact

Dang it. Here I am getting all excited about hockey. I said I wasn't going to. And I really meant it. And now, like a little kid, I'm getting all excited about hockey after I (we) have just been robbed again. I feel kinda dirty....but excited. Speedy recovery, boys!
  13. Concerts. Who are you seeing?

I just saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra (again). Does that count?
  14. What are you listening to? 2?

This is a song about a train....which means the toot-toot is
