Patrick O'Sullivan is an AHL lifer? He just turned 21 and is the AHL's leading rookie scorer. He'll be with the Wild for good before too long. peace Doh! Thanks Norrisnick. I was way off base lumping O'Sullivan with the others. Thanks for reminding me. The guy I sat next to at the last Aeros game raved about this guy. I totally forgot about that. "For 40 minutes Tuesday night at Toyota Center, it was the Patrick O'Sullivan Show. The rookie winger dominated, scoring three goals in the first two periods and leading the Aeros to a 5-4 shootout win over the Chicago Wolves. Up 4-2 going into the second intermission, the Aeros had all the momentum they would need. Then O'Sullivan, who has 20 goals in his past 21 games, completed the hat trick with just 0.7 seconds left in the period. He's now the first player in team history to record three hat tricks in one season."

Look, It's not about the numbers in the AHL. Some of the most prolific scorers in the league will never wear an NHL jersey. It's all about size, speed, age and hype. Here are the top 3 scorers on my Houston Aeros: Law - 34G - 54A Westrum - 30G - 56A O'Sullivan - 39G - 33A These guys are AHL lifers. They will not make it in the NHL. Yet, the Aeros have sent 6 players to the Wild this year. They just aren't the big number guys. Now this guy is going to be the man: Roman Voloshenko - 28G - 18A - not the greatest numbers, but he is 18 years old and plays like Datsycks brother, only bigger. Now THAT will get him into the NHL.

This poll seems to be missing a lot of players. 1. Alexander Ovechkin, 2. Henrik Lundqvist, 3. Marek Svatos, 4. Sidney Crosby (over-rated) 4. Dion Phaneuf 5. Peter Prucha. One of the best rookie classes ever.

Like what? He is the worst player I have ever seen in my life. Avery is a hall of famer next to this clown. You guys are scaring me.

No way that loser ever plays for the Wings.

See, it is you Professor. Griffins 5-0. Jimmy Howard 23 saves for the shut out. D-man Clay Wilson 2 goals - 1 assist. Filpulla 1 Goal - 1 Assist. Not too sucky tonight huh?

I had my friends corporate seats in section 121, about 15 rows back of the Aeros bench. He's a Texan and doesn't know hockey from curling, so I get some nice seats from him. But you can pretty much sit anywhere you want in that big arena. But you are right about the crowd, it was only about 6,000 but they really were into it. I can remember in the past the crowd would only get excited when the fights would start. I'm guessing the place is almost empty tonight though with the Astros game on right now. By the way I'm a State grad and forgot to mention yesterday that I love your Drew icon, but after todays fiasco I won't say anything more. Blown out by Northwestern for crying out loud. I'm disgusted. -

I think I saw you...or one of the 25 other Osgood jerseys in the building tonight. LOL. Big time Red Wing presence at Toyota Center. Unfortunately, not much to cheer about for the Griffins. Ozzie got burned early and often. But hey, thats why he's here... to work the rust off. I got to my seat just as the game started, set my beer down and bam! the Russian kid Volashenko had already scored his first of four goals. (he's 19) The whole game was a penalty fest and the Aeros scored on several of them. Hudler was a lot of fun to watch though and picked up a goal. Since the Wings don't have a home game scheduled for Christmas week, this will be as close to a Red Wing experience as I get this year. I had fun. -

The Aeros website is expecting Ozzie to start tonight. I'm excited. It should be a great game and a good crowd with the World Series not starting until Saturday. The Aeros are off to a fast start too, which is pretty surprising since 5 or 6 regulars stuck with the Wild this year. The top 3 scorers in the league will going at it tonight. Hudler, Erick Westrum and Kirby Law. This will be a good test for Ozzie. "The Aeros are home at Toyota Center tonight for the first time in two weeks, taking on the Grand Rapids Griffins in a matchup of the top two teams in the Western Conference. Three-time NHL All-Star and two-time Stanley Cup champion Chris Osgood is scheduled to start in net for the Griffins."
