"C" seems so natural with Stevie Y that I would keep it, even if it's not true

I too have mixed feeling. the call seems to be incorrect if you take the rule literally (which should be the basic way of resolving calls), yet it is 100% within the intent of the rule. so it's pretty much question of correcting the wording in rule book. on the other hand... it's not like Pronger did mess a lot. it's rather a brief moment and it doesn't by far remind Avery's antics. at the end of the day... it did ultimately cost me one point in weekend picks, but I can live with it. seen much worse calls, and I don't even have to think of O'Halloran or Don VanCouver to come with some ideas not even to mention the one and only Magoo

as if he was OK before fighting Dats. this video made my day. there's really few players in the NHL that would made me smile even more to do such dumb thing. Pronger perhaps, and Sindy himself...

exactly. I'm not even sure we can honestly talk about correlation. it's 3 element sample and that's far from the threshold when any probabilistic distribution (except for some very trivial) can be distinguished from white noise... nice coincidence and that's it. and I'd personally bet that no Caps nor Flyers will be reaching the SCF this year

I see nothing wrong with the hit. the only wrong thing is that this Stajan kid has not been taugh to keep his head up, which is probably the basic thing you start as early as in pee-wee hockey...

looks like only 3 Wings players could make it. that's 3 too much in my book, but I can live with it. anyway... whoever expected Sindy Crosby to not be on top...

nice offside missed by refs. even I saw it on an internet stream (which is really bad quality)

QFT and don't put rap and music into the same sentence, please. just like the words "clean" and "Pronger" or "Flyers"/"classy" or "Maple Leafs"/"Cup"... thank you

guess if I care? I'd say... vote for the players on whichever team tops the standings in West (and is not the Wings) at the moment ballots close. grant Wings players some rest and let other teams cope with extra fatigue. All Star game is stupid and other than for Pittsburgh fans (or whichever team with fanbase averaging 13~14 years) and media not many are enjoying it, especially not the cup contending teams. I'd gladly see no Wings at this popularity contest. and I nevertheless know that it's gonna be Sindy Crosby and Habs/Nucks players winning this voting, so don't really waste my time talking about it

so this is not "this year"? sorry, couldn't resist the old joke

Kenny giveth, Kenny taketh away. seriously... I'm OK with Wings conditioning the youth in AHL longer than the other teams. it's been working like that for quite some time and the system is fine to inject some new blood rather than overhaul the team that is in no need to do it. last but not least... please don't use words Mike Green and defense in one sentence other than when it's a contradiction. thank you

oh come on... if you're given free ride like 3 times and only then the league gives you suspension... and you still whine about it and point your finger to someone else... you must be with Philadelphia Flyers, right... this whole team is simply built around marginal plays and shameless whining...
-
considering the NHL way of handling suspensions - way too many. 1 game is the most with usual NHL policy. considering Briere's record and the fact that he's one of top league players plus has some history of dishing unnecessary hit - I'm glad someone had balls to hand this much punishment. if only the league kept handling the matter like that... I think those suspensions will come in bunches until All Star break. NHL decided to teach players to play with less edge and it usually takes those 3-4 months to have the message received. but come playoff run and playoffs itself - expect a lot of old sh*t to come back and escape unseen. perhaps less than last season, but it's still going to be good ol' hockey. overall, I agree with the league on the policy. it really got too bad last season and it's time to do something about this business. there is a difference between hard hits and head hunting and I'm glad this is handled, even if the handling is not perfect...

the Pittsburgh one is about so damn s* ugly, that I can see 15yr old kids s*ing their pants about it. which would be like 50% of the Penguins fanbase, so the P&R guys of Penguins are apparently good at their job. I wonder if they (P&R guys) though for a while about changing the team mascot from the lame penguin to some *** vampire. Hannah Montana is not good for a logotype, so vampires get the nod, you know seriously... these jersey is ugly. plain and simply ugly. you could only make it worse by adding some pink and some shiny, glittering sequins. though, there's always Winter Classic 2011 which, sure like hell, will feature the Penguins, so there's fair chance we will see pink then and I'm all for league finally letting another team play winter classic. we know, Gary, that your precious Sindy sells. we get it already. time to let some other team play. and no, I don't mean Florida, Dallas or Phoenix. seriously

no point for discussion to me. Pominville had no chance to see the guy coming and was in vulnerable position. there's no discussion as to whether Hjalmarsson did this on purpose. he did it. and just to remind: league is supposed to be discouraging players from unnecessary (and it was not like Hjalmarsson was finishing something) checks of vulnerable guys. here we have a perfect example of guy knowingly targeting defenseless guy. 5 + game is perfectly just. whether this is subject to suspension... I don't recall Hjalmarsson being repetitive offender so he gets the benefit of the doubt but if he continues doing stuff like that, I'd rather see the NHL give him a game or two.
