my proposition: 1. fixed and clear criteria to make dangerous attacks to the head/from the blind corner an automatic major penalty 2. fixed and clear criteria to make it a suspension (effectively 1 + something) 3. introduce "no less than twice previous" rule. meaning: if you have once been suspended 3 games for certain infraction, the next one will cost you minimum 6 games. automatically without revocation I don't care for the "it's a fast game, things happen" crap and am glad the league's finally trying to do something with this crap. and for those crying about element of the toughness in the game... I don't care. I want guys like Savard playing not goons like Cooke. it's that simple. and for the record: he didn't have to come from the blind side to make it hurt. period

that made me think: "what if Therrien had any idea of coaching other than whining to the media and overusing the 'obstruction' word... naah, thanks hockey gods, he hadn't"

those commercials are actually fantastic. NHL Marketing is really, really great at them. the only thing they fu* up is when they touch the "everybody love Sindy" theme. but as long as this series stays with Lemieux, Orr, Roy, Stevie Y, or Mess or even Dave Andreychuk... it should be great. just don't embrace brillant ideas of Gary and spare us the "ancient history" of NHL with Sindy Crosby winning the cup

agreed. then again... we all watched 2008 playoffs and saw Gary's TV pals doing wonders to sell Cindy as 3rd coming of Jesus Christ (Mario Lemieux being the 2nd - and it sure is a coincidence ) and pretend it's not like he got his ass handed... I'm not jealous of Penguins but kinda disgusted how they're shoved into fans throats who believe Sindy Crosby came to rescue Canada and entire World from doom and gloom. it's not his nor Penguins fault but it sure does influence my perception of this team. good team? definitely. deserved winner? likely. am I glad when they lose and Pierre's or Emricks need to eat their crow? always -

u meen likeh... Flu-rry, ou can (h)and a game on un plate en zen hebond fhom zis ze next time? zis is kold hebond, monsieur. en ze bilons is never-zeles zeroh, unles u ah French-Canadian! seriously... Flurry of goals can steal a game but he can as well hand the entire game to the other team. he's barely a model of consistency in playoffs. he should acutally be thankful that all the hype is focused on Sindy and Gino, because normally people expect more consistency from number 1 pick. he's not a bad goalie but he has had a fair share of poor playoff games. honestly... sure he can also steal a game in playoffs. but I'd rather have the lost one back. -
congrats to him! well deserved honor if you ask me.

sure... and good, hard-working Canadians achieved everything with their work, huh? welcome to the dreamland... it's 55 to 14 in this case. do you really insist on challenging this fact? with "they cheated"...

that was a nice goal and surely a timely one. truth being said, he indeed was invisible except for this goal and a breakaway much earlier. I hoped Getzlaf will score the winner here, because he deserved it much more (and actually was playing some great hockey unlike the primadonna), but... Stevie and Mike are in the W column now. Burke and Wilson not. I'll live with that

Today is going to be the BEST hockey day in a long, long time!

absolutely. even in my best times when I was fluent in German German (not so anymore, after moving to Netherlands and starting with Dutch) I had some tough moment with understanding ppl in Zurich. wirklich, ihr Schwitzli seid schwierig Leutli though, to be honest, the difference between German and Swiss is far cry from what a Hollander has to live through in Belgium. flemish version of "common" Dutch, though almost exactly the same in writing, has absolutely nothing to do with language spoken in Holland. and they (Belgians) are laughstock in NL when they open their mouths -
I'm rooting for Russians all the way. it's hard to be against Mike Babcock and Stevie Y on this one, but I'd just love Ovie, Dats, Malkin and Kovalchuk to win it. not to mention, seeing all those ass* like Cherry stop whining about Euros and Crosby loosing would be a huge bonus...

the main poll question is "a goalie to win you one single game". I'd go with Kipper as he's better at that right now IMHO. and Ward is not a bad goalie. now Flurry... this guy can steal you a game, sure, but he can also blow out badly right when you don't want him to. anyone recall Tommy Salo's career end? you get the point

QFT and this is effin disgusting.

as long as Wings advance to playoffs and Flip remains offensive threat in April through June - he's untouchable to me.
