I absolutely loved Stevie's speech. just pure him giving credit to others. but the biggest story of this HHOF introduction was Bobby and Brett Hull. it's a fantastic story to see father and son sharing this honors and the old guy having the chance to see his little brat (or so) achieving such acknowledgment.

I don't get why they stopped the fight (no reason at all) but I have no problems with Crosby. I am fed up with NHL shoving him into fans throats, but he himself is pretty much OK. if he want to fight, whether it is reasonable or not and whether he can or not - let him go.

I'd rather give Howard a good shot. it took ages to develop him in minors and make ready for the NHL - what sense would it make now to dump his chances after just 3 games? nada. he might not be future Brodeur or Bobby Lou but he's very cheap and might be perfectly sufficient to keep the team within playoff picture in tandem with Oz. and when Oz retires we could have Larsson ready. Biron is Buffalo school and I like this fact very much. haven't followed him much in Philly but I can imagine he has the tools to be Wings starter. but it simply doesn't make sense now. let Jimmy H. have his shot

I don't like the shootouts at all. it comes from watching a lot of soccer games which ended with wrong team losing or even being eliminated through this contest. hockey shootouts are still more fair because there is much more place for player's skill than luck (which is what soccer penalties are basically all about) but it is a contradiction to the very nature of the game: a team effort. truth being said, I think Pat has a good point - if there's a chance of reducing protective play by one goal leads and add some entertainment, then it's definitely worth to be considered. maybe not in this shape but if there's a good idea how to reduce such "total defenses" and add some excitation to the game - I'm in. not in this shape but there's a good point in the discussion

speaking of Ovechkin... how do you like the Top-10 Ovechkin off the ice moments on TSN.ca? can this get any better?
