nope, he isn't idiot and he makes perfect sense. what is the problem is people who just can't read English or have not enough brains to understand what they're hearing/reading. which essentially has NOTHING to do with what Semin said. the only thing this guy ranted is that US/Canadian media people have brown noses from sticking them right into Crosby's ass. and he's dead on because whenever you turn some national televised game you can bet there's gonna by Sindy commercial, Sindy interview, Sindy praise, ... even if he has nothing to do with whomever is playing that day be it even remotely. because NHL marketing decided to push him through in our mouth every single time it's possible. in fact Semin is kind enough here to use Kane as counterexample instead of Ovechkin whom he could easily used in this place. because both are at least as deserving the marketing hype the NHL built around Crosby. Semin is rude with his "What's so special about?". but the rest of his talk is right on topic. and it's nice someone finally told it loud that the league is more than just Sindy and that he's good but he's not head and shoulders above all other players in this league who don't get even 10% of Crosby's recognition. which is a big slap in the face from the media to all those hard working guys out there who play their hearts out every game only to see how their effort is ignored just because the same day Sindy Crosby chose to fart and it's more important. yes, I'm extreme and over reacting but you get the picture. the only bad thing about Semin's rant is that media ppl, unlike most of their readers, are not dumb and will understand this was against them. and they will now milk Semin story and use this to pump the public before each Caps-Pens game but when it gets old story they will show their backs to Semin to punish him. which's bad because he also deserves recognition for his nice package of skills.

I wouldn't say that. Malkin, Ovechkin, Lecavalier or Thorton are easily a good match here. if not the better. and I honestly hate this vision. I'm sick of TSN/CBC/... mentioning Crosby by every single opportunity. there's more great players in this league to showcase. it doesn't really have to be "Crosby and all other guys" and that's pften the impression when you watch broadcasted games what Semin essentially says is that Crosby is not living up to the hype and that media is making him much better than he actually is. and he's dead on here.

Sundin to Ducks A+ Eklund sayz it!

well said. I think he just said what 99% percent of hockey fans worldwide would like to say: we're fed up with Crosby shoven into our arses every time it's remotely possible. if this makes the league realize there are other stars in NHL than just Sid the Whiner I'm all for it. not to take anything of Crosby skills but last couple of season this guy's been for the NHL what Obama is this October for USA - you're affraid to open a can of food because you're afraid he's gonna be there. and Crosby is in fact just one of many great players in this league. not head and shoulders above the rest - in fact he's not even the best out there

Hossa is lazy and he sucks Wings are good in regular season but suck in playoffs Wings are too old Europeans are not tough enough - have you ever seen european captain winning the cup? Osgood is career backup and he's clearly not able to win you a cup Sidney Crosby is classy and he never whines about calls Pronger is a clear Lady Byng winner this season St Louis Blues are on the course of beating Habs record for number of cups won Maple Leafs fans: this is the year! Bobby Clarke - the trade wizard! Wayne Gretzky wins Jack Adams this season and finally: Predators fanbase

too early to tell but I could see myself betting money on this. this team just excells in finding ways to f* things up. though, that early into the season I'd dare to predict they'll make the 7/8 playoff spot in West and get severely beaten in 1st round only to finish it after 4-5 games
-
congrats Sergei! I wish Igor Larionov was let out from Russia in his primes and had an opportunity to play in the NHL. he could easily beat this mark with his skill and work ethics
-
why? the first time this kid meets Flyers and is dumb enough to have his head down like this he'll end up carried away on a stretcher. it's better that he's reminded this lesson now than later into the season or (god forbid) in playoffs.
-
you mean he gets traded by Kenny for some Euro softie? /sarcasm I'm kidding but you never bet with Holland...
-
jesus... kid... learn to watch ice in front of you... this is NHL not some charity in-line skate league... *pwned

holy f*... they took Mule down. there will be blood...

I'd say he appeared pretty smart in this interview. JK: "is it uncommon to recover so fast?" PT: "you tell me. it's my first time" I'd say he had some flashy, smart answers you wouldn't exactly expect from a guy of his kind of job. PS. those jerseys for Winter Classic are outstanding brilant idea to do it this way

of course! he is the best GM in the game now. or isn't he

I don't think Fletcher is that dumb to touch Burke. this guy is a pest who comes to rebuilt teams and sells their assets out leaving a mess behind. just ask Vancouver. or (soon) Ducks
-
now that's a little steep and I don't think it would go through. I mean... honestly... 2nd rounder too?
-
nope. I most certainly hope he will be held accountable and kept so that everybody could see what a cheap excuse for a GM he is. he inherited a team full of extremely talented draft picks and got Pronger and Niedermayer handed on a silver plate. and then he sold out this young talent to have a shot on a cup. and to pay Bertuzzis, Schneiders etc. I'd rather see him swallowing this and being forced to bail the Ducks out of this mess. it took years to Nonis to clear the crap Brian left in Vancouver. why should yet another GM do what Brian f* up?

well... technically speaking, that is if we have it over titles in front of one's name I'm equal to Parros at this moment (MSc from Mathematics) and somewhere in near future (likely 2009) about to better him up (with a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science)... though I admit being beaten by his "sexy" porn-stache my goat-beard is nowhere close to his brand Parros Look

and he is a Princeton University graduate too. not exactly a feat you'd usually associate with NHL heavy-weight

good weekend for me but with just 6 for weekend 1 I have a lot points yet to chase. hope to have same luck next time

nope notwithstanding Crosby's skills and potential I'd rather have Zetterberg than him. even if Zet's skill set is not that big I like his all around game and team-first approach more than Crosby's tricks. not to mention I can't stand Crosby's whining which vastly decreases my desire to ever see him touch Winged Wheel. let him stay with his cry-baby coach Michel. as for Crosby vs Datsyuk... I don't think there's any comparison here if you just take skills and all-around abilities into contention. Crosby is this unique species which raises poor franchises and brings them back into NHL map, just as were Gretzky, Lemieux or Yzerman and guys like Lindros or Kovalchuk were supposed to be. Datsyuk is huge but he's not this breed. the main question of this topic though is if I'd like to trade him for Crosby. and there's no way in hell I'd like to do this. I like Wings chances more with Datsyuk and I also like Datsyuk as a team player. truth, Wings could improve skill-wise and leadership-wise with such trade but it's still not enough to make me "get over" seeing Whining Sindy in Detroit. sure it's unfair and homeristic but it's mostly about not wanting Crosby here. now Gino Malkin, even with his pressumably minor skill-pool, is completely different story - at least once he discovers the ability to play hockey in playoffs
-
oh my.... and some homer 15 yr old fans somewhere out there really make you so mad to fume 50 replies in a thread like this? jesus... they're sour grapes and whining about some phantom faults... I know a number of ppl on this forum who whine and blame every single player of the other team when Wings are losing. ppl reaching similar "height" of argumentation. the point is it was a good game with two very competitive teams. we ultimately won despite not playing our A-hockey through good part of the game but neither they were at their best in 1st period. we were lucky to get the extra point here but if we played in their barn they could as well come with the W out. it's just one game early into the season. you can't read too much in this except for the fact we fans could see some solid, fast skating hockey. and I most certainly not disappointed about this game nor about the Rangers who were formidable opponent who looks to be heading towards a strong season.
-
Kopecky's been far from spectacular but I'd give him another chance. he needs to be told to move his ass more and pute more effort, though as for Maltby... he had a good game against Rangers but I'd not overstimate his role for the team. speaking of our players... I liked Meech yesterday. had a strong game with good sense and some nice jump

10-of-13 tonight for me. and 4-of-7 yesterday. that will vastly improve my stats
