Hall of Fame Inductees named tomorrow

for me it's Igor and Richter and then... way... way behind other players. Igor should've been there last year. Stevens before him is a joke and an insult to international fans for whom hockey is not only Canada or North America. truth being said of last year introduction only Messier stand his ground while McInnis and Francis could've easily been classified after Larionov. but it seems like Canadian understanding of "Hockey Hall of Fame" (which is clearly not the same as NA Hockey Hall of Fame) is different than mine. Larionov and Fetisov are Hall of Fame guys, hands down. I wonder how Canadian ppl would feel when Russians would start something called "Hockey Hall of Fame" and kept players like Mario Lemieux or Gordie Howe away while letting their own guys with fewer achievements in. because it's exactly what this canadian Hockey Hall of Fame does. blatant bias towards NHL (and WHA) achievements

    Malone leaving Pittsburgh

Malone was one of their best guys in playoffs. he at least did care and tried to do something. dumping him to keep Hossa doesn't seem like a good option to me. I'd love to see Malone in Winged Wheel but can't see this happening.

Zetterberg named TSN's Player of the Year

not shabby for a 7th round (210 overall) pick, right? Hakan Anderson deserves a separate trophy from the league. I mean... this is simply unbelievable. 7th round pick from Europe winning it all despite league putting all the effort to promote 1st pick Canadian candyboys... :D

The Wayne Gretzky Award - most goals by a team

there's already a good number of awards and I'm not sure if adding more is the way to go. but I see Babcock's point. I only hope that the league contracts some quality designer to create such award

Need a reason to love Osgood? Look here...

is it just me or is this Rome guy putting a lot of effort in producing gazillion words in a second during what is actually a calm interview? I got tired of his endless chatter after just 2 minutes of the video...

McLellan to be named Sharks' head coach

don't think so. they're built with different type of players. and it would take time for them to rebuild into puck-possesion mode. a lot of time and adjustments.

Sharp: Wings should retire Hasek's "39"

Wings retiring Hasek would be an insult to Sabres organization and to all reasonable fans of this game. notwithstanding Dom's achievement it was his Buffalo stint that created the legend and brought him into spotlight. it's Sabres honor to retire Dom's # if they want to. same goes to Chelli and Blackhawks. of current Wings there's only Lidstrom to deserve a number retired. maybe also Oz but that's a long shot (a valid, though). other than that... sorry, Mr Sharp, but we're no Colorado to "buy" history. Wings do it by themselves and not steal from whom it rightfully belongs

    Championship Schadenfreude

I'd not call him unbiased but yeah, he's not that bad here. there's been worse guys covering the final series alone

    Championship Schadenfreude

I don't care about other teams' fans. though, I'm enjoying the fact that guys like Emrick and Pierre finally shut up with their man-love to Sindy. and that despite all the effort some refs put into handing the series to Penguins the better team (by far margin) still prevailed. and the fact that I'll no longer have to listen to those orgasms about Crosby taking stride and touching the puck - it's a huge relief to me. NBC and CBC were brutal in pushing Sindy into my mouth...

2008 SCF Game 6 GDT: Red Wings 3, Penguins 2

I love how after 2 periods of licking Sindy's ass and calling every single Panguins play "outstanding" NBC all of sudden jump on Wings wagon and Pierre starts talking of how great coach Babcock is with Emrick joining about "so much talent", just because Wings got a 2 goal cushion... just stay with your man love to Sindy, losers, and swallow it!

    Most Overrated/Underrated Red Wing?

I remember similar things being said of guys like Hudler and Flippula just 2 years ago. just give Kopecky some time.

    Most Overrated/Underrated Red Wing?

I'd say right now Franzen, Homer, Stuart and Rafalski can get the nod as overrated. but that would be only because in comparison to other players on our team their value/rating ratio is higher. Franzen because his rating got somehow inflated by huge man-love of the fans. Homer because of reality - with the "blow the whistle" mark on his back he's not as huge factor as he once used to be. Stuart and Rafalski because they had some bad lapses and with Raf it shouldn't be happening. underrated? Oz and Sammy. Oz is obvious I guess, and as for Sammy - I think he's the best Wing to generate juicy rebounds for other players to capitalize. and has really worked hard this series. Dom fails out of the equation. he played almost 4 games and sucked badly. I'll omit him in this thing as he was of little importance for our playoffs run, maybe except for giving us an early wake up call. let me repeat the disclaimer - all this underrated/overrated here is based solely on the comparison within team. because compared to other teams in this league our entire roster is vastly overperforming. just look at them and Penguins... 3 goals in 4 games by a team that was supposed to be an offensive juggernaut (yet plays dog boring trap when jumps to a lead or has the game tied... gimme a break...)

    Funny bashing on Therrien

that's my call to. registerd on hfboards couple of days ago and Pens folk there is very civil and realistic. with very few exceptions. same goes to Wings fans there actually. it's also not like LGW's been free from homers these days. exactly the opposite IMHO. this forum also stinks when Wings happen to loose and bandwagon is badly looking for excuses... I mean... let's rewind to Game 4 against Preds - it was all doom and gloom and putting the guilt on Nashville, Bettman, ...

SCF Game 4 GDT: Red Wings 2, Penguins 1

wasn't this Malkin's dive because of Wings obstructing? Therrien most certainly looks like looking for something to whine about

SCF Game 4 GDT: Red Wings 2, Penguins 1

how was this goal NOT an interference from Roberts? he looks like sitting in the crease AND preventing Oz from making save....

Pens again bemoan lack of obstruction calls

McKeon's been Wings homer for quite some time and he doesn't even try to hide his bias. I like his articles and he has some good view at times but I would exactly show him as indication of what is truth and what's not.

10 best Captains in the last 14 years

I see no justification why he should be considered a great captain in your post. I see here plenty of stuff people can acknowledge him but not a single reason why this should be his captaincy honestly, will we put Stamkos on this list next year just because he's draft no. 1 pick and is supposed to save some crappy franchise? lets talk about this and a couple of recent seasons. is Crosby the guy who wearing C has led his team for years to spectacular successes? sorry, but by a long shot not. certainly not ahead of guys like Andreychuk or Iginla whom the guy from NHL.com disgustingly omitted. same goes to Alfie. or Ryan Smyth who back in his Oilers days was The Leader there. how about Naslund?

Red Wings might have good shot at Sundin

Sundin is one of game greatest captains and leaders at this moment. period. I'm not sold on using a valuable roster spot for him but let's not get too far...
  23. akustyk

Ok, I am officially tired of it as well

I beg to disagree. they played with basically 3 defensemen back on their blue line. and were perfectly able to stop Wings from quality shots other than our PP which was far from spectacular. Pens looked very good at protecting their lead in 3rd period. and I hate to admit it but it smelled like 2006 Oilers or 2004 Ducks which we could not penetrate and were limited to perimeter shots. sure, they may not get the lead in Game 4 nor Fleury has to be good again but this is a real concern to me. I really want Wings to win this Game 4 and go home with possibility to seal the deal. but if Pens score first this may be a huge hill to climb for the Wings...

Red Wings might have good shot at Sundin

leave him. we have enough experienced leadership to keep us in the game next season. better put this millions into scooping some young but established player.

Red Wings might have good shot at Sundin

report says Maple Leafs are pursuing Sundin. just as they are pursuing every single free (or not-free) agent on the market, because every player in this league would love to see his career ruined by touching the pest of MLSE. sorry, couldn't resist
