McCarty Cleary Flip Rafalski Mac has been unspectacular for most of the playoffs. he's done his job well but I'd like to see last flash of his old scoring self and see him pot a strong goal in Pens series Cleary had brutal offseason having bad luck in bringing the puck into the net. I hope it finally goes by and Danny scores some good goals. I'd also like to see Raf having some long range shots landing in Fleury's net. and finally there's Flip... I just have a feeling about him that he's gonna end up with some big goal in this series amen, brother. Lebda's been great this series and has raised his game well above what he did last season. Lilja had outstanding playoffs last year but this time with Drake, Mac and healthy Kronner he's not that much of use. and Lebda has grown to be reliable and free of mistakes. and his speed is big difference here.

took a look at this forum. not overly inhabited but very decent. basically free of dumb trolls and bandwaggoners who only talk about how their team rules and the rest of the league is a mess. very unlike LGW recently where we have huge number of new idiots who often overshadow valuable posters contributing to this forum already for years. I mean - honestly... what one guy there wrote about series analysis and what people responded is more in-depth and toned than anything I read here for a good while.

look at the bright side of this. there's no Magoo and no VanCouver. in is O'Halloran who's definitely the brutal choice here, but I've been worse disasters happen

guys (& gals) please relax. knowing NHL we're gonna see his name repeated once every 15 seconds in the broadcast so let's not get ahead of the storyline here. there's no way we can escape this scenario except maybe for Crosby making racial slur or pulling a Pronger

I'd love to see Wings winning it especially on home ice I'd say this is possible that we win this series in 5 games but there are a number of other possibilities which can as well happen. this is just statistics and they speak of general trends not of what happens. just like weather forecast just to make a good example of what is in the statistics name: a man with his dog walking in the park average each 3 legs and common sense says this statistic is pure BS EDIT: Sammy scoring two goals in a single game? no way in hell. Oz has better chance to make it than Sammy

I love this threads where people bid like crazy about whose team has better paint on their shirts, whose noses are longer on average etc. who the * cares how our D matches against their D? has anyone ever watched a game where defencemen competed directly against each other? no? thank you for your answer. it's about how our defensive effort is able to stop Pens forward lines and vice versa. and looking at our blue line there's every reason to believe they'll get the job done. they kept Stars big names mostly off the scoresheet and these are no lame ducks when it comes to scoring. when it comes to Pens D against our forwards... tough to say but I think we're not necessarily the side which loses in this comparison. I like Wings chances here but let's not get beyond ourselves. this Pittsburgh is no inexperienced lucky team. they're in finals for a good reason. and they'll give Wings tougher fight than all the teams we met so far

thanks for nice words and cheers for your team to have even better run next year. we know how you guys feel being in the same position last year, after beating two tough opponents and falling to fresher team. your Stars had great run and was it not for their tough luck with subsequent opponents they could as well be where the Wings are now. Turco was great for you and your young D is really reason to smile about the future. some of your unheralded guys (Ott, Lundqvist) have also had remarkable series against Wings. I certainly hope Dallas fans get to see the Stars winning the grand prize again. your team deserves it I know the pain to see your team getting ousted and I understand how you feel about this. however, if this gives you a reason to smile and works encouraging just think of Wings who went similar path last playoffs only to get to Finals this year. this may as well happen with Stars. and as long as it doesn't come at the expense of my Wings I'll be keeping my fingers crossed

might be both. Chelli isn't exactly a youngster but he hasn't been playing great recently for his standards which may have something to do with health. though I think the main thing here is that Wings needed upgrade at his position

I think I got accustomed to the fact that every single analyst not picking Wings to win is a "dick" and those who say only positive things about us (or optionally those negative things every Wings fan know) is "smart"... I'm OK with Dregger although he's by far not the smartest guy out there. McKenzie and Pang are head and shoulders above him when it comes to knowledge. and the biggest Wings homer in TSN stuff is Milbury. he had some good critical word on the team recently but other than that has been acting like he wanted to take over from Holland speaking of original post: yes, Stars were definitely outplaying us in those 2 games. but the bigger point is here that Wings were far off their B games and been extremely uncreative and inefficient. I put it on the cooling after 9 straight game winning streak which took it's toll on the team. but they must get up and focus if they want to win this series. sure 3-0 was huge hole but it's now 3-2 and as it stands now there's every reason to believe Stars may win this game and come back to JLA with extra confidence. we need to get our heads up and start putting effort into the game. if we lose Game 6 we're pretty much fu* and may very well get eliminated with big bang

we look crappy now and definitely lack focus we had in games 1-3. we're not gonna win this game if we continue to play like this. we need more composure and definitely more hunger. if Stars win this and come back with confidence to their barn this series can go 3-3...

that's my question. I understand we're off from 9 game winning streak and it took it's toll but I'd rather see Wings refocus and play their A game to finish this series. we can do this if we put effort but we seem to be lacking this killer instinct we had in games 1 through 3

welcome here! hope you stay here for a while longer. there's still some hockey to be played before we can say our teams will play each other but it looks likely at this moment and I'm certainly hoping for that. I'd love to see a matchup between two highly skilled teams. here's for a Wings-Pens series :beerbuddy:
