yes, he scares me. if he scores the single goal which decides the game he is this single player able to beat the Wings. and he showed plenty of good moves and luck this postseason. if this continues there's every reason to be concerned about him and no, he didn't appear on NHL map yesterday. he's been a good player for a number of years, only has some more luck and exposure recently

they all deserve a boot here. and I wonder where's Emrick because he belong right here alongside big mouth Cherry. I'm pretty astonished people still remember Kara Yorio. although I find it difficult to hate her - by the same logic one doesn't hate Down children because it's not their fault they're born like this. also, Woody Paige would make a good compliment to this list guys I like are McKenzie, Pang, Clement, Bucci, Burnside, McKeon, Elliot and Jim Fox.

you could say the same about Flyers. they are a real team and as much as I hate to see this happen they are perfectly capable of getting past Pens despite all analysts handing this series to Crosby on a golden plate. there are 30 teams in the NHL and those analysts need to follow all (or most) of them to be able to make some guess. they don't follow single teams closely and their picks are often based on past knowledge and conclusions drawn from past facts. this is one of the reasons Wings were sticked "underachiever" label this playoffs and only after beating Dives the analysts started seeing a capable team here. I really can't blame these guys for being unable to follow each single fact and aspect of each single NHL team. or for having a carefully though pick in a series that is everything but sure and which depends a lot on how the first games unfold. it really is tough to predict series and to see all factors involved. honestly, fans who curse analysts for making picks should really make reality check and try doing the same about other teams in contention. then try write it down and post on message boards of involved teams and don't just escape the bashing

I think you're wasting your time trying to prove you're not an elephant to people who obviously will crucify you for every single word which doesn't say Wings are the best and every single player (including Lilja) is second coming of Gordie Howe. leave it. I know you're right, some other ppl who have brains also do know. don't bother about fanboys who only see what they want to see

is it jus me or is your memory just too short to see one important factor here: it's Mullet. not some John Smith in XYZ media but the very silent but deadly killer - Mullet. almost every single time he picked Wings to win something in last 10 years it was a kiss of death which eventually cost Wings the playoffs. it really isn't about why or how justified this guy is picking us. it's about the kiss of death. just as most fans hate to see a player on their team touching Presidents Trophy because it brings bad luck. the same way Mullet's pick has been disastrous for Wings. whatever happens I'd rather have my Wings fight without Mullet's curse. unfortunately for us he's been extremely succesful in destroying our chances.

add Doc Emrick and we have a set of 3 d*[cut]* who make just about everyone puke... that would be: bias (Mullet), stubbornness (Cherry) and gold-mouth (Emrick).

two very good goalies on the roster are not better than one hot and excellent goalie. just to remind: there's only on goalie playing for each team at the same time. forgetting his Wings-jinx I'd pick Turco over Oz here, and most certainly over Dom. and a potential goalie carousel is everything but advantageous for Wings team. on paper Stars have some advantage in net. it's not that huge but they can count on Turco to make huge saves and boil them out of problems. with Oz I'm a little bit more concerned. he's great at this stage of career but talent-wise he ranks lower than Turco. but I strongly suspect Turco's Wings-jinx will play a role in this series. if he excersise(sp) his demons and plays Wings as good as he played Sharks we've every reason to be concerned. if he pulls Jose Theodore, we're right there in cup finals. it's very tough to predict

ditto! they've been an excellent tandem and for many fans who hooked with hockey in 90's Clement and Thorne have been the voice of the NHL. I miss them

I don't think it happens. if Theodore sucks that much Joel Q will switch to Budaj, and Budaj himself is quite capable. at least to keep the team in contention. Dives have some depth to prolong this series and they as a team are always on fire in playoffs and independent on the roster they bring it's a tough team to beat. a sweep is highly unlikely if they manage to solve goalie crap which I think will be OK in Game 3 at most. their problem is their defense and Wings strong forecheck. if we play puck possesion and pressure their 2nd and 3rd pairings we should steal those important goals. I'm far from drawing too much conclusions after only 1 series game where they played without Floppa. it looked good but I expect Dives to step up. 6 games seem more realistic to me and remember, there's always refs who can do wonders. McCreary yesterday was brutal but we've had enough roll to win despite it. in a closer game some dumb Van Massenhoven may cost us a deserved win. in other words: there's pleny hockey to be played in this series. I'd love a sweep here but I'd never ever bet my money on this outcome

that was a tough goal for Theodore. he should have easily had it. great way to start the series and shake up what was supposed to be the best of remaining goalies way to go Wings!
