jesus... get real man! are you expecting me to beg for a permission to write a critical word about Hasek on this forum? because if I don't Hasek lovers will jump on me and demand explanation of every single word or just assume my bad will in every case? get some life. there are ppl who just care about Wings winning and there are others who try to be more critical and look realistically what are our chances to win the Cup this year. it's cool Wings play nice but so are other Cup contenders and it's not the good about the teams that will decide but actually the weaknesses. Hasek has weak points and if he exposes them other teams will exploit this. and unlike the bandwagon with red-glasses I actually see a problem here. that's my right. I'm fine with how Wings played today and about the effort they put to sustain Preds wild push and then get advantage in the game. but I'd also like my team not to let the other team cut 2 goal deficit in a dumb fashion. that's it

OK, I might be too hard on that. I'm usually picky when Dom leaves the net keeping in mind some of his earlier lapses. but that was some sort of bad luck here. wouldn't happen if he stayed where he's supposed rather than going out where every player in this league knows Hasek sucks. I don't know about Lilja. it appeared to me like the puck jumped on some ice surface scratch or whatever. but it's hard to judge on Sopcast feed which lacks the detail of good tv I thinks so, too. I hope to see more of this Hasek in the rest of playoffs. he's sharp when playing under pressure. he just needs to be kept in his crease

I too think some call here went Wings way. especially seeing 2 quite similar goals counting in for Wings and not for Preds makes one clear why Trotz might be complaining. and to some extent he's right. the thing is, Wings deserved those wins anyway. as much as Preds put pressure on us in 1st period this game it was Wings who were winning the runs for pucks and it was us who were tougher on generating chances. just to mention Stuart's dive to save the puck and compare it to Zanon's defensive lapses - but there are plenty of other examples. so yes the Preds have their justified reasons to complain about the refs. but they simply can not use this to justify their 2-0 hole. they played some good hockey today but for most part of the series are still outplayed by the Wings. I don't think those calls are that much responsible for Wings series advantage which of those two teams the league would like to win? that's conspiracy theory but considering the fact that NHL capitalizes on playoff audience and this audience is drawn by skill and adversity I'd say it's the Wings. on the other hand Gary the Commish is strong on supporting Nashville market. but in all fairness I'd (again) point to Wings as the team which is being favored (sp). I'm not gonna agree with you on toughness. I like the way Wings are playing. basically all our players play hard and don't shy away of physical play. I mean... Hudler trying to mix it up and scrum???

nope. I do like Hasek but I simply am not blinded by the fact that Wings won and see how he continues to journey outside the crease where he's by far not the best performer. he's done it a number of times before and was caught red handed another good number of times letting a goal which should never have happened. and it looks like he simply doesn't learn from this. yes, I am seriously concerned that he does it again in a tighter series against a team that will limit Wings offense and prevent our forwards from bailing Hasek from unnecessary goal against. sure, I'm exaggerating about his play and his overall grade after this game is really OK because he did wonders except for those 3 stupid actions. especially stellar was the save against Zidlicky (I think it was Zidlicky - in 3rd period, just a minute before Datsyuk rallied on Ellis on the other side). but I really, really feel uneasy about Hasek going outside his goal. this is his weak point and opposing teams know it perfectly. Preds made him pay for this today but we were fortunate to win it anyway. one day it may cost us an important game. honestly, I think you read something different than what I wrote. I never mentioned anything about performance. or if you want to drag it further - about skill, talent, etc. I mentioned Legace as an example of goalie who lets a weak goal in a tight game where his play is crucial for win. whatever.... call me a Hasek hater or whatever you wish. if that makes you feel better....
-
nope, I watched the entire game. yes, he was solid except for those dumb actions and he deserves credit for what he's done through the rest of the game. the point is - he cost the Wings 2 dumb goals. on a team with potent offense like Wings this fortunately didn't end up with a loss. but if Dom played such game for a team with weak offense or against a team which is more skilled and tougher mentally... we'd be going to foreign barn with series tied 1-1 this is 2 goals. in a tight action in a series against Sharks or Ducks (if we advance and play any of those) that game would end up with a loss if Hasek lets such 2 goals in. and that's my point. seriously... ppl were all over Legace when he let a weak goal against Oilers (if my memory serves me well - in game 6 back in 2006). and that was only 1 bad goal. why should it be different with Dom? he blows - let's call it by the name.
-
that's right. before the game started and then through periods 1 and 2 Pierre and Emrick were ass-licking Preds like crazy. then, seeing how Wings are beating Nashville they jumped the bandwagon and started sticking their noses into Wings fans brown holes. so yes, fans of both teams can see dumb commentary. and both sides are right
-
BS he was the very reason why they were cut from 2 up to tie game. he was great except for 3 s***ty play but letting up 2 dumb goals is definitely not what I expect from a goalie who's supposed to drive us to the SCF. seriously overall it's a big minus for Hasek for this game.
-
suck it, NBC. how do you like this Pierre?
-
suddenly, NBC is able to find good words about Wings play. eat this, ass*
-
Homer!!!!
-
Hasek's been good mostly. but he was alone responsible for one dumb goal and had his share of guilt in another one. not to mention he didn't draw proper conclusion from that and still played recklessly later in the period. I don't want to see him leaving net. he just asks for problems. I don't want to see him throwing away 2 goal advantage and look for the rest of the team to bail his ass out. Hasek's been solid but made 3 terrible mistakes of which 2 ended with goals. TSN is perfectly right in calling this out
-
could you just shut up, Pierre? or admit you're an idiot
-
well, it is 9.00 or moreso 10.00 now in the evening here perfect time for hockey
-
"nice job by Suter" yeah... what about Flip making a clown of the other defenceman? typical Emrick
-
same with Flames after Lebda hit Langkow (no mention of Langkow reaction of course)
-
I guess we're watching a different game. Zetterberg is generating a lot of ofence here and the sole fact that he's yet to score doesn't change his contribution

jesus... NBC with Emrick on my sopcast this is gonna be a tough game to watch :puke: Go Wings!
-
I remember this year's Winter Classic when Pierre couldn't go 10 seconds without orgasming about Sindey Crosby. and I bet his pants were wet when Sid scored shootout winner. and then ppl wonder how come so many die hard fans start hating Crosby when I was young and my homeland (Poland) was still communist there was a joke about Lenin being on all channels and all the time in TV and viewers being afraid of opening a can with fish (to not see Lenin again). I can imagine US viewers having similar feeling after watching Winter Classic :puke:
-
holy cow... Emrick is probably the second most terrible guy in hockey coverage behind Woody Paige. I'm OK with NBC although they're years behind FSN or TSN. but if we get to CBC and get to watch quality team facing some rough, skill-less Canadian team (read: Flames)... now this is something you really get annoyed. guys who praise every crappy play of Canadian team and bash much clearer actions of the team from US.
-
that's the other part of the story. honestly, I think Chelli is making some fun and also later in the same question he gives some praise to passionate fans of Predators. IMHO, it's fair to give props to ppl in Nashville who cheer for hockey in a state that is not exactly known for ice, skates, etc. and a critique coming from fans whose team has a barn with plenty of empty seats and which at times gets so silent you can hear a pin drop... it's really sub par and uncalled. honestly...

but this goes to an unwritten rule that ref's fairness is perceived via the amount of calls he gives to both sides. and if Wings play say Ducks and the penalties are like 6-4 in favor of Wings it's not always fair because it often means the ref whistles Wings for some dumb crap (to equalize PP opportunities and "fairness") and lets the Ducks escape with some real crap. admit it or not, many people see this way to frequently. I mean: the extra forgiveness towards those team who "play on the edge" and extra eye for those playing clean. and I honestly find it difficult to call this fairness

Go Rags, Go Pens!

do the teams invent new stuff every year or just exchange slogans with each other optionally replacing color/pet/number/whatever ? seriously, I can't imagine something dumb enough to compliment this list. this looks like a closed pool which is really difficult to widen anyhow. seriously, it's a disgrace and it offend those fans who have some brains
