why do some people think last year determines team's fate in this playoffs? yes, Stars used to choke badly in playoffs. so were Sharks. does it mean they'll do the same this year? ummm... not so... in my belief this is going to be their breakout year and with some luck they'll go deep. I actually have more faith in Stars than in Sharks. but again - everything can happen and it can be both of this teams playing some excellent hockey. I don't see a fluky team going for it again. people learned from that wild post-lockout seasons and no longer take any other team lightly. that's not saying 8th team is sure to lose against 1st but there's less chance a team that barely makes a playoff spot will beat a team that prepared for playoffs for weeks

are we now seeing the rise of super-cheesy hockey commercials? I think I liked those "NHL players are just like you and me" series more :hockeysmile:

Holland has plenty of cap space to sign McCarty. and with playoff rental players being sold mostly for draft picks (which Kenny will NOT give away) not for money, there's every reason he should go and sign Mac. but... the sole fact does not yet mean Mac will soon or ever play in Wings. he may as well finish the season in the AHL. but should he improve and become NHL-ready or should Wings have a hole in their line-up in playoffs - it's better to have him signed just for the depth reasons. for league minimum this is just a win-win situation for Kenny

I like Kopecky and the way Babcock handles him. the guy doesn't get a lot of minutes and the pressure is on him to earn his time on ice and deliver. something similar to what Babcock used to do with Hudler and Flip who eventually developed into very solid players. my biggest kudos about Avs games go to Lebda, though. he used to make brutal mistakes but this time showed an excellent effort and some real good hustle. definitely worth mentioning!
