Pavel makes those Norris "candidates" look like lame ducks :D

puck in... a second of hestitation... offside call... sheesh. could you focus on the game, zebras? BTW: am I the only one watching TSN and haivng an impression there are more commercial breaks than the game itself?
-
my first though, exactly. but that was a deflection. Jiggy left too much space between the legs, but was pretty unfortunate. just.
-
oh my... this TSN commercial "16 Wins" is outstanding. if someone finds a link to download it - I want it!
-
get TSN via SopCast, too. works fine

Hasek and Chelios will be asked to re-sign with Wings
akustyk replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
hey! Charlie Wang could sign DiPietro for 15 years, let Holland break the record and sign Chelli to 20. yeah... do it, Kenny! -

Chelios will. his shape is no worse than many other Wings and he wants to play. and since his asking price won't be high, I see no reason why Holland would not sign him. with Hasek the matter is supposedly different. his price won't be high, either, but it's his will to play that bothers me. he's been bugged by injuries and it takes him a lot to stay in game shape from what I know. having a chance to retire on top of his game (should Wings reach SCF or even win it) is something which will make him think of definite retirement -
or he/she is simply a teacher which, if you are/were one yourself, is pretty easy to guess

Gomez is not 5M$ guy but he definitely has skills. I saw him in 2000 playoffs (his rookie season I guess) when Devils won the cup and he looked like a stud. and he continued to be an accountable performer. wouldn't mind having him in Winged Wheel. not for 5M$, though

I tell you something... this young pup is gonna play for many more years. that Chelli pup I mean I'd love to have grandpa back, though. he's proven there's still a lot of fire in that old shell. gotta love his passion -
Kenny and Jörgen alone, nevermind their NHL stints, bring a lot of international ice experience to the team. and frankly, I like it when Swedes go with team guys rather than looking for big names. they have proven international ice performers in Jönssons (I'd love to see Sundin there, though) and a couple of good youth (like Warg who, if I'm not mistaken isn't with Team Sweden for the first time). Czechs used this kind of mixture for some years and by that time they were plowing one gold medal after another in international tournaments. Team Sweden seems to be going in this direction, too, and I believe they're not shorter on talent than Czechs were. Go Sweden! sorry for english here, but I've no idea how'd it be in swedish. had once a chance to start Swedish language lessons, but the teacher was supposedly more homo than hetero. I skipped it

Kenny Jonnson(sp), their captain, is an ex NHL-er as far as I remember. so that would be 2 that would be canada and finland in my book

I'm not sold on Don VanCouver, but at least this ass Joanette and phantom-calls master Magoo are gone. that's good

that sums it up signed: akustyk, being in fact, a guy, too

yep, gotta agree I wasn't overly confident about or chances before the season started. though, I saw this team growing better during the season and had them able to go further than Round 1 in playoffs. in all honesty, I did not see Flames having much chances against us, but Sharks've been my big concern all the season. they certainly underperformed against Wings, but it's still a scary team to face. as for Ducks... with our injuries I can see them taking the series, but that's not to say Wings are far worse. we have shown some huge teamwork, heart and desire to win. if we continue to play on this level and remain healthy we stand a fair chance of reaching SCF. yep, I'm believer, too. actually, from the Game 1 of Flames series when I saw inspired Wings my though was: these are winners. and I hope they continue this trend and even if we fail, it's gonna be because of better opposing team not the lack of trying
-
I guess you're not from Canada because last I checked LGW forum there were threads with "all Canada hates Wings" and now this... 8) but honestly, I don't think you have reasons to hate Ducks who were clearly better than Nucks and deserved WCF - if that is the reason for Wings support. though, most posters here want Disney Duck eliminated by the Wings, too
-
When the Sharks and Kings aren't playing, then the Ducks have fans

I think you are lowering yourself to the level of people you criticize. for what reason? -
Mullet is an ass. he did not get Wings coaching job back in 90-ies and since then holds a grudge against the franchise. he's not as bad hockey analyst as some people think but his clean anti-Wings attitude pretty much nullify his credibility in this case. other than him... I see nothing wrong with predictions of Ducks win. they have every right to get past us in a best of seven series, especially now when the Wings are shorter on the bench.
-
I'm not getting ahead of myself. in fact, I'm not seeing my team as favorite to win this series. but it't not gonna end in 5 games like some of Ducks fan started predicting. as for physicality of our D-men... we'll see. they made the job done so far and I can see them continue being fine in this department. the problem is with Wings depth on defense but Kronwall was initially supposed to return mid-May. anyway... as I initially said - we'll have to see Game 1 and see how the teams match up against.
