with all respect to Rex, this is yet another BS call tonight. Oz gets it, hands down. and Calder is second here oh whatever...
-
and against 10 Predators on the ice. 6 in those dark gray sweaters, and additional 4 in stripes. the later bind, but it still counts to the quantity
-
Calder or Oz for 1st star. I guess it's Oz, because he pretty much saved our asses with Zebras calling Wings penalties one after another
-
yeah... no kidding... and I bet these are the same folks who love to chant "Red Wings suck", "Chelli you baby" or another thing to pretend they're passionate fans... what a disgrace
-
Mike Hasenfratz, Dan Marouelli none of them was in my idiots-book but seems like they worked hard to get there. 4-2. f*** off zebras
-
shut up girls! our era is over, we're old and slow and... ya know...
-
TuTu? EDIT: nope. I guess I didn't get the joke
-
seafood is a long Nashville tradition which some fan invented back before WW2 when the team first went after Stanley Cup... ... well... sort of...
-
because unlike in wrestling which their team is playing, in ice-hockey there is a rule book and if you want to comment a game you have to know at least the basic rules... is this right?
-
oh my... Maltby is a grinder yet Tootoo is a pest. and Bertuzzi is obviously a Mother Theresa and Dalai Lama with all their hollyness incarnated in one body I guess some of you make it quite too far
-
like who exactly said Wings want 1st seed? or that Preds already have it given. ummm... I'd say you started joking with this "your reign is over" thing. when exactly did Nashville won a single playoff round, could you recall? thanks a lot.
-
it's not a bad idea but I'd rather see NHL get to the point (work on those reckless attacks, clogging, attendance, teams ability to build good teams without stupid cap limitation, etc.) rather than waste the time for things like this
-
two points to mind: 1. this team is built on defense. and we can not afford not to have good and capable defense 2. Schneider is an offensive defenseman, one of those better in the league. and he's good for his price tag. whether he is irreplacable - that's another question. if Holland can shop for a guy making less mistakes and less money and still on similar level of play - why not?
-
what exactly has changed since our last game that people jumped Schneider bandwaggon? I mean, sure he's been a good D-man, but last I remember there was whole lot of bitching how he turns the puck over... and now this love song? what have I missed? was he on some TV show, or what?

Kansas City Penguins sounds like Kentucky Fried Chicken to me. not exactly coo,l obviously far from the "Mighty 'Walt Disney Toon' Ducks" but still worth a laugh as for Florida - they don't need a change of scenery, but a change of Mike Keenan
-
speaking of personalities... JLA has Karen Newman. and she is rather cool. GEC has those country guys (last I checked) and these sound... redneck yeap, this post is utter BS of no value - just in case someone asked
-
forget Hull and Luc. Hatcher was the ultimate sloooooooooooooooow motion guy

there's a good number of comments under the TSN article. there's obviously a lot of comments like "shut up you greedy Soviet" comments of people who are unable to understand the real hockey is not like fantasy teams. but there's also some good observations on Habs management and coaching staff and how they handle the situation. not trying to paint Samsonov an angel because he has his share to blame but Ganiay and Carbonneau have contributed a lot to this situation.
-
what about the further injury schedule for this week? I mean for example neither Malts nor Nick were yet rested... oh wait... I mean injured, of course nevermind... they'd need a short break before playoffs, wouldn't they? is it now or even later?
-
I'd pick Flip over Hudler, too. but I'd also try putting Hudler in Sammy's place
-
he's a fine regular season player so far. whether he is visible in playoffs (which depends on as much on him himself, as on Babcock to give him physical line partner) - I'd have to wait. I like how he's playing and he definitely beat my expectations but I'll try my judgement in May/June. he definitely has skills and a big heart which is great
-
I think this statement is a miss. people from US see much more into money than people from Europe actually and tend to use it as a crucial argument in every discussion. sure it's 3.5 M$ but he nevertheless has it. and if you had choice to play on high level - the game you love and for the fans who enjoy it, or just sit on the bench, fart and grow fat... guess what's the choice. Samsonov never really get it done since he left the Bruins and signing him for 3.5M$ was a huge risk, which eventually didn't pan out. but the thing here is not just to blame Samsonov for not producing, but use the brains to get the clue why wasn't he producing. is it because he was lazy? that can be true, but I don't think it's the sole reason. my bet is Canadiens had no physical presence to couple with Sergei and make him efficient. then both parties had to had screw something up in relations and it went the way we see now. is it Samsonov's sole fault Habs GM gave him 3.5 M$ and the team was unable to use him properly? I simply refuse to buy such simplified answer. both parties must be guilty and with Canadiens having a history of players going "from hero to zero" makes me think, they have a big contribution to this mess
-
what's about those Canadiens and cutting player's careers? first they basically dragged down Czerkawski (another big scorer before coming to Montreal) now it's Samsonov. both are Euros so I can see something in it, but frankly... that's two really good players in a team that so uneven and such horribly sucking when it comes to chasing playoff spot, and which could definitely use scoring help of guys very able to shot the puck on target...
-
we don't need this win that badly as they do. and the Bruinds are one hell of a team when facing >.500 teams, even more now when they're chasing playoff spot. could be a tough game and I can see Boston stealing it. an OT win from them is fine with me (and yeah, I certainly hope Dave Lewis makes it to the playoffs - his team deserves it). I'd call it 4-3 OT. them or us winning the extra 1 point
