truth being said, we are faster to nearly every puck that comes loose. and we are also able to rescur our asses from their goons right behind. we're gonna be fine
-
have to disagree. Wings are buzzing but Babs is mostly rolling Drapes and Flip lines and keeps the scoring lines fresh. we're gonna see a turnaround in this game in 3rd IMHO

yeah... no kidding. where the f* did moles see Nick holding in that mess?
-
are they hanging Keith's jersey to the rafters?

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
akustyk replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
hmmm... I'm fine with him as a goaltender as long as he's not messing with his water bottle, and more precisely with its content -
Slava Kozlov (sure like hell fits Holland's patterns) Scott Mellanby (I would certainly like him on our team, even more when he's a RW) and maybe Bobby Holik but I dunno how he's been recently Mellanby wins my voice here but him for Lang is not necesarilly fair. something like these two and Maltby and Sim maybe...

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?

yeah... and included names as Sammy, Markov, Greg Johnson, Franzenstein right when Holland could fish much bigger names. he skipped over many big names even among zillions subsequent rumors seeing him land Jagr, Kovalchuk, Ovechkin and even Jesus Christ himself EDIT: forgot to mention. all of those stars were supposedly traded for Void Deveraux or Lillypads, as some of you may recall from LGW.com  I guess so. I don't recall it that good. but, correct me if I'm wrong, there were more teams mentioned to chase him to the very last moment (like at least Philly and Rangers too if I have it right). but anyway... Holland shops much different under salary cap limitations. he's very cautious and by far not willing to risk. what seems rather clear to me is that he is aware of the moment and is smartly rebuilding this team but without going top-to-bottom. and I really, really can't see him shoping future for playoff rental right now. even more if I recall how steep are some prices now we can dream of Floppa but he's gonna cost the shopping team huge assets. Wings can not afford this. no, I'm not Holland's fan. but I'm behind him not signing Floppa and not wasting Wings (thin) prospects for a rental player -

maybe, maybe not. in the salary cap era Holland tends to be very cautious about signings and not going any (financial) big risk. he prefers to sign cheaper players who get smoothly into the Wings system, rather than follow big names. Floppa looks rather risky at his price, IMHO. therefore I don't see this trade happening. the other factor in this equation: I also can not recall when was the last time a rumor about big name signing in Detroit came out true. usually, we get to know about anything when the deal is said and done. as for the other names: I can't see Bertuzzi (same reason as Floppa). but Tkachuk and Guerin are rather likely. Ken had a lot of opportunities to see them playing and they both "fit" Holland's trade deadline preferences, IMHO (older, proven, come at fine price, big but not huge name). and I most certainly like both more than Floppa and sacrificing a lot of our future - and yeah, unlike some people here I don't see Floppa coming for cheap. by far not -

you know what.... somehow I don't buy all this "Wings goinf for Floppa" rumors. it's so blatantly off Holland's style that I can simply not imagine a trade like this happening. we will get Tkachuk or Guerin but no Floppa. whether Lang goes or not remains to be seen. I don't like this idea. he is blowing at times but he's a playoff performer and I don't want him go now. in the postseason - I'm OK with that -
right where Manny carried us Lang is a clutch in playoffs. dealing him now makes little sense if we are talking about the Red Wings that may lack scoring touch in playoffs and a team that seems to have only two factors to address at the trade line: scoring, toughness. Lang is able to deliver in playoffs and has big enough frame to make himself some room. trading him for youth would basically mean Wings are not trying to win anything this playoffs which makes zero sense to me. the only way I could see Wings shipping Lang is for a better and more physical forward. hmmm... Tucker?

my call exactly, except for the ordering. from the 1st round perspective it'd be: SJ, ANA, NSH 2nd round: ANA, NSH, SJ 3rd round: NSH, ANA, SJ 4th round: oh wait..

what has Schneider done to Phaneuf? I missed the very moment when it happened
-
yeah... and let them 15 shots on MacDonald
-
TSN/versus has it listed. and it'll be on sopcast, too
-
yeah... I told ya it's gonna be 6-2 in the end won't count I guess

this game is virtually over. Wings are trying not to score more goals, Calgary Goons can't keep up and pretend they're physical, and Babcock is letting Flip and Hudler play a lot of minutes while keeping Dats and Zet off in this 3rd period this will probably end up like 6-2 but is actually a humilitating loss to the goons. gotta love to see this

good ol' Flames what an ass!
-
you know what... I really like Lilja tonight. he's not fu* things up add some muscle and he even was there to cover Zetterberg's ass and yeah... Zet was huge with that hit on Flames ass-boy anyway... keep your heads up. these thugs will be trying to smoke some Wings

protective gear won't help much if you get a blast right in your groin... ouch...
-
what a crap! their #19 is holding Lebda and it's no call. then Lebda does god only knows what and it's a call... whatever...
-
the closest Wings guy who'd qualify as a goon is... .... Joey Kocur
-
possibly. I'm perfectly fine with some 4-1 and a healthy Wings after the game, rather than 7-1 and a month long injury to Cleary or Flip or Dats... and
